What is your talkbass name dude? Mine is predictably the same as on MX. I don't like TB though (no disrespect if people love it here) but I find it extremely elitist and a bit "toffy". The reason beingthat all the threads seem to revolve around really expensive stuff etc. Fine if you can afford it but I can't! lol However there are some class people on there like John and they are obviouslydoing a good job. I just didn't feel very welcome when I was like "Hi, Here is my GSR200!" and they all ignored me :( I am much happier here with you nice people! :)
hehe.

EddieTheKiller me thinks..(i dunno why i use eddie for everything, its not my name :p) (oh yeah..he is maidens mascot :p) im gonna try www.basscentral.com and see if they can ship overseas, if not, im gonna cry...

the guitar shop in orpington sells them

Saitoku 01-07-2005 12:22 PM
Eatin cream fillin?
Yes. If by cream filling you mean nothing, since I'm at work.

RJDBass 01-07-2005 12:22 PM

Where do you work.

voiceless one 01-07-2005 12:25 PM

Sure thing Luke, I will get down there tomorrow then. Havent been there for ages since I started going out with the girl from Bluewater Make Music! ;)

bassist-bmxer 01-07-2005 12:28 PM

 cool!

Saitoku 01-07-2005 12:28 PM

I work at the laptop service center on my university campus.

RJDBass 01-07-2005 12:28 PM

Fun?

Saitoku 01-07-2005 12:30 PM

And since we're on winter break right now it's pretty dead around here. But normally I work nights and weekends, so it's dead anyway.

It's a good job. Actually, my boss rules. He even said I could bring by bass to work with me if I was bored, as long as I get any work done that needs to be.

Saitoku 01-07-2005 12:31 PM

So it's safe to say that this is the best job I've ever had. Except that I don't get enough hours.

newbieX 01-07-2005 12:33 PM

wheres orpington?

RJDBass 01-07-2005 12:34 PM

A job is a job and money is money, at least you have a cool boss. The manager at the walgreens I work at made me work christmas eve, christmas day, and New years day.

Saitoku 01-07-2005 12:36 PM
A job is a job and money is money, at least you have a cool boss. The manager at the walgreens I work at made me work christmas eve, christmas day, and New years day.
****ty.

I've had to work plenty of holidays in my day as well, though. In hindsight, it's not really worth it, unless you NEED the money.

Hell, I missed a vaction to Florida with my family because of my stupid job, at one point. I should have told them to shove it.

bassist-bmxer 01-07-2005 12:36 PM
wheres orpington?
Kent

voiceless one 01-07-2005 12:54 PM

Yeah, it is in Kent, as is Bluewater and a few other second rate moosic shops. I have to go to the moosic shop under Virgin on Tottenham Court Road to look at real nice basses! :)

Saitoku 01-07-2005 12:55 PM

Well, at least you guys have more than one local music shop, so don't sweat it. :p

voiceless one 01-07-2005 12:59 PM

Yeah, I know i'm lucky to have a few shops dude, just moaning cos one shop here stocks 6 Squires and an Ibanez GSR200 and the other has a T-Bird, 3 Dean's and a Squire......and that's it! :(

Russ.

Saitoku 01-07-2005 01:02 PM

alright, well, I would probably gripe about that myself. What's the point of having three shops if they only stck crappy basses.

Then again, my one shop stocks crappy basses. PLUS they charge LIST PRICE for everything.

bassist-bmxer 01-07-2005 01:03 PM

yeah the orpington shop only has like 4-5 basses now, it sucks cause i wanna try out some different stuff.

voiceless one 01-07-2005 01:05 PM

One shop round here (the one with the Swuire's and Ibanez's) has signs everywhere that say "Net Price" cos I think they realised that no one is guna buy a Squire at a high price, so they reduced them to net price.....and still no one buys them! And they are rude in there to top it off nicely.

Russ.

voiceless one 01-07-2005 01:07 PM
yeah the orpington shop only has like 4-5 basses now, it sucks cause i wanna try out some different stuff.
Perhaps we could take a trip up to the one under Virgin sometime dude? Might be fun. Have ya ever been there?

Russ.

Saitoku 01-07-2005 01:10 PM

The guys that run my local shop don't know **** about basses, except for one guy, and he doesn't know much as it stands.

I remember back when I was still a fledgling bassist I went in there and asked one guy the difference between active electronics and active EQ and he pulled some explaination out of his *** that I later discovered was totally wrong.

bassist-bmxer 01-07-2005 01:11 PM

I dont think i have no, you ever been to the bass cellar in Denmark street?
