neal_672 01-07-2005 08:50 AM

Hey eveyone, i'm in my english lesson

nisakss 01-07-2005 08:51 AM

I know I'll get flamed for saying this, but I got stuck in a traffic jam in a friend of mine's car, and the only cd she had in was Simple Plan. The singer/lyrics suck big time...teen angst and daddy why don't you love me, etc....but the band is not too band at all. The bass player, although he doesn't do anything flashy at all, is not bad either, and it seemed to me that he played with his fingers, 'cause he didn't have that stereotypical twangy sound. Anyhow, his lines were well crafted and fitted the songs ok....now if they could find a decent singer....or if they could put some balls in the current one, they'd be a decent band.

bassist-bmxer 01-07-2005 08:59 AM

hey guys  i feel so ill, every time i get up i feel really dizzy. :upset:

nisakss: yeah his voice is so annoying!

neal_672 01-07-2005 09:01 AM

Simple Plan, i listened to them in my old days of pop punk music, but i reallydon'tlike them now...

PaulR 01-07-2005 10:04 AM

Got back from school a few minutes ago. Umm. Nothing much happened today, I failed a maths test and thats about it.

My girlfriend broke up with me yesterday so I was kinda down about that. But I'm moving on, its not worth moping.

voiceless one 01-07-2005 10:20 AM

Did ya get a reason for the breakup dude? I swear women just aren't worth the hassle! :)

PaulR 01-07-2005 10:23 AM
Did ya get a reason for the breakup dude? I swear women just aren't worth the hassle! :)
Pssh, not much of a reason. She doesn't know how she feels about me.

:upset:

But she was the one who liked me in the first place. And shes changed so suddenly.

RJDBass 01-07-2005 10:24 AM

Well did you get a chance to shmerkledorf her?

voiceless one 01-07-2005 10:29 AM

I tell ya dude, ya can't win with women, easy as. I guess people who are married to them eventually win, but at our age they are nothing but trouble and good head! (Did I just say that?!) So maybe ythey are good for a few things...........:P

PaulR 01-07-2005 10:30 AM
Well did you get a chance to shmerkledorf her?
To give her a big suprise?

*I'm really a woman*

Nah I didn't.

Meh, women change moods like tides, they come and go. Although once a woman really loves you, it's for the long run. Don't worry too much about it, you'll find some one special when you least expect it.

In the meantime, hang out with your buddies and have fun. Life is too freaking short. :amaze:

PaulR 01-07-2005 10:33 AM

Good advice Nisakss.

Will do. I had fun before i was with her, and it won't be too hard to have fun without her.

voiceless one 01-07-2005 10:37 AM

That's it dude, a bit of positive talking :)

nisakss 01-07-2005 10:43 AM

Cool, don't worry too much about it. Besides, I personnally feel like I lost a lot time of being with my friends because I always had a girlfriend and stuff, and although it's cool, it tends to drive you away from your friends, which is not a bad thing per se, but once you start getting older you won't have as much free time to just hang out with no worries. And it's almost a sure thing that you'll send the rest of your life a woman. (MAn I sound like an old aunt!!)

Anyway, you said it better, you had fun before and you will again.

Spaceman Spiff 01-07-2005 10:50 AM

Greetings MX.
How does this day find you?

voiceless one 01-07-2005 10:51 AM

Anyone got any good gigs coming up? I am seeing The Used in a week or so's time. I love their bassist, he plays a Precision (that is active?!) and the bass seems really "phasey" as if he slides every other note...maybe he does. So yeah I am seeing them soon. Anyone seeing Motley Crue or The Scorpions? Think I will give them a miss. Green Day is a must though! :)

Please comment.

Spaceman Spiff 01-07-2005 10:54 AM

hmm, i don't know of anything too soon.

i know that Mudvayne isplaying here in april at a really small club, depending on the price i might go. i'm not a huge fan, but i've always found them to be alright.

but only like 2 days after that concert is one i must go to, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, and some other band.

voiceless one 01-07-2005 10:54 AM

Where abouts do ya live dude?

Spaceman Spiff 01-07-2005 10:57 AM

Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

*cool Torontonian*

nisakss 01-07-2005 10:58 AM

I think I'm gonna see Carlos Vicves live, his a famous singer round here, and he plays Vallenatos....don't know quite how to explain it...but it's cool, and the bass parts are always extremely difficult with tons of african rhytms.

PaulR 01-07-2005 11:00 AM

I'm lazy and poor, so I have no gigs to go to.

:upset:

voiceless one 01-07-2005 11:01 AM

That sounds like a cool show dude. I love complex music (says the guy who is going to see 3 screamo bands in a row!) but seriously, I love complex music like Spanish acoustic guitar playing, where it is obvious that a huge amount of effort goes into playing every note. Hence why I love listening too and trying to emulate Damien Rice and Sigur Ros, The former being practically impossible to emulate though :(

Thunder Fingers 01-07-2005 11:10 AM

****IT! i cant get an geddy lee bass... :( the american music stores aint allowed to ship them out of the country... DAMN YOU FENDER!!!!

voiceless one 01-07-2005 11:13 AM

Where do you live Fellow MX FENDER FANCLUB member Eddie? *Realises he is asking everyone where they live....must seem REALLY strange*

I am starting to develop quite a thing for Geddy Lee's, I think it must be the block inlays in the neck.

Russ.

no.. big stores arent allowed by the manufactures to ship them out of the country... and ebay dont have anyone now.. or they have one, but its overpriced... :( well.. i just lurk around ebay then.. and hope that guy on talk bass decides to sell it to me...

voiceless one 01-07-2005 11:39 AM

What is your talkbass name dude? Mine is predictably the same as on MX. I don't like TB though (no disrespect if people love it here) but I find it extremely elitist and a bit "toffy". The reason beingthat all the threads seem to revolve around really expensive stuff etc. Fine if you can afford it but I can't! lol However there are some class people on there like John and they are obviouslydoing a good job. I just didn't feel very welcome when I was like "Hi, Here is my GSR200!" and they all ignored me :( I am much happier here with you nice people! :)

PaulR 01-07-2005 11:41 AM

Bye MX, off to eat pizza! Woop woop!
