word. |
why not?
|
ahhh. yeah I have been wondering if screamo comes from emo doesnt that mean that the bands are still emotional just with a larger focus on chaos, but if that is true why do bands like combatwoundedveteran and usurp synapse get called screamo when they dont show much emotion in their music (at least when i have listened to them)?
|
what happened in '97?
|

Screamo is just fast riffs with kids screaming. It isn't like emo. Emo is dead. Screamo is way less extreme emotion-wise. Maybe 'intimate' lyrics, but not the crying etc. |

already have, they both suck with poor musicianship and poor production, a giant waste of time i'd say... |

Noope. Not like 'back in the day.' Well, Still Life are still together, but suck now. |
Noope. Not like 'back in the day.'
Well, Still Life are still together, but suck now.
damn that sucks. |
Well they don't exactly 'suck.' They;re just different.
|
i havnt heard them so i will take your word on it.
|
oh god i know. the vocals are horrible, and the music is boring.
|
New ADIBAW reminds me of the time I got raped by 9 homeless mexicans.
Are I hate myself still around? Im pretty sure theyre emo. |
i believe they just released a 7".
|
Noope. Not like 'back in the day.'
Well, Still Life are still together, but suck now.
Yeah..Still life is making totally different music then before. And I agree with you that that there aren't many bands that play emo like the bands in the late 80's-mid 90's did but i think Life at These Speeds gets pretty close musically. |
which is why I tend to agree with torn that the Gravity bands aren't really emo. But then that's where that screamo word helps out. Makes sense of all the bands that aren't emotional as much as they are chaotic but still obviously fit together with emo bands.
I always call the Gravity bands Hardcore emo (it's stupid..I know...but it's something that stuck after reading fourfa)...I think they are not really emo..but also not really screamo |
i think toru okada might be closest to the older emo stuff.
|
Toru Okada eat face.
Architects are better. |
I don't get the big deal with Clikitat either. They're pretty boring most of the time and I don't know, they don't come off as being as artsy as everyone says.
|
Besides the obvious Rites of Spring, Embrace, Indian Summer and whatever else is listed on the front page, can anyone recommend emo.
Stuff ranging from emo of yesterday to modern? I thoroughly enjoy Forstella Ford right now. |
Song Of Zarathustra and Maxmillian Colby
Forstella Ford is awesome. Not really emo though. |
The song "Lyburnum Wits" by Moss Icon will last you a lifetime.
And Sep, I was kidding. :p Meh, I'll add more since you'll probably get the same 20 bands here. Bells On Trike Bob Tilton Beneath Low Flying Planes (Haven't listened to them in a long time. Don't remember exactly what they sound like.) Breakwater Embassy Hoover In Tongues Makara Mohinder Native Nod Navio Forge Palatka Reach out Republic of Freedom Fighters Shahrazad Shotmaker The Khayembii Communique The Kossabone Red The Sea, The Sea Tipping Canoe Usurp Synapse FuzzyLlamaOfDoom on AIM if you have any requests.
There ya go, SGlove. |
Jesus, Cryonics and A Dead Sinking Story are so ****ing amazing.
|
Cryonics = meh to me. I just can't get into it. I agree with you on A Dead Sinking Story, though.
