Probably.

They sucked on The OC, although they were nice enough to play quieter whenever someone wanted to talk.

br3ad_man 04-01-2005 06:27 AM

Are you going to watch them? Let me know how they are if you do.

Iai 04-01-2005 06:33 AM

I probably will do, even if just for a good spot during The Pixies.

Depends who's on the other stages.

br3ad_man 04-01-2005 06:37 AM

British festivals make me hang my head in shame in comparison to Big Day Out.

Iai 04-01-2005 07:15 AM

What's the BDO lineup like, then?

Tomahawk 04-01-2005 07:23 AM

This years BDO had the Polyphonic Spree, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Beastie Boys, The Streets, Atmosphere, The Hives, and some others. And I had an awesome time.

Of course Australia isn't going to get as many good bands as Britain, but it was still well worth my money.

Iai 04-01-2005 07:24 AM

Seen the Polyphonic Spree. Amazing live band.

Also seen The Streets, who are the worst live act I've ever seen.

Tomahawk 04-01-2005 07:27 AM

Wow, the worst? I thought they were alright. Nothing special, but watchable. I didn't see their whole set though.

Iai 04-01-2005 07:31 AM

Yup. Easily the worst.

I've also seen the Libertines. And Junior Senior.

i hear that about him, but bad live or not, i love his albums.

Iai 04-01-2005 03:56 PM

Don't get me wrong, I like him on record. He just sucks live.

Kinda like an inverse Mars Volta.

Arrakakaka 04-01-2005 04:10 PM

Tool - "Aenima"

I finally got it..

Happymeal 04-01-2005 05:48 PM

Iai 04-02-2005 10:26 AM

I'm digging Phil Spector. Just downloading CDs 1 and 4 of Back To Mono.

Tomahawk 04-02-2005 10:43 AM

I'm digging him too actually, you mentioning him in that association thread put me in a Spector mood. Back to Mono is great, although the 4th disc is just Christmas songs, and I never bothered to download it.

And also in the classic pop vein, I'm digging some Burt Bacharach stuff. Dionne Warwick, etc.

Iai 04-02-2005 11:12 AM

Haha, the Christmas theme was what drew me to it.

Luxor 04-02-2005 11:22 AM

Lightning Bolt
Elliott Smith
Stars
DJ Shadow
Weezer
Radiohead

...Is what I've listened to in the past two days.

Guided by Voices- Bee Thousand is what I've been digging... very very good stuff... I thought the songs would be to fragmented for me, but it turns out it doesnt bother me too much.

I've been listening to The Streets and Radiohead the last couple of days.

And today I got:
Explosions in the Sky - The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place, and;
Beck - Guero.

Currently listening to Guero for the first time, so far sounds very good.
