No, I mean I pressed it and it changed the skin on mx to this:

I've never seen it before. Very strange.

Once more, it's probably one of those problems, I used to get that error on my old comp.

Shadows 11-15-2005 04:04 PM

Oh man. :( I'm running Adaware. It's been weeks since I've done it and I'm way overdue.

EDIT: 60 objects found!

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-15-2005 04:20 PM

That's nothing. The first time I ran a spyware program, it detected over 800 objects. :p Of course, this was a trial program, so I couldn't actually clean the files, I could only see how bogged down my computer was by spyware. :upset:

I then got a different program, but it only found 30-something files.

NP: Age of Silence- The Green Office and Dark Desk Drawer

Shadows 11-15-2005 04:22 PM

I think it's describing two different things. I ran the thing and it said it found 16 files, but when I tried to clear it out it asked if I wanted to delete all 60 of the selected files. Stupid automatic door.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-15-2005 04:24 PM

I knew it! :p

Still, my computer sucks bad. Every time I open up more than 3 windows, I can't run my web browser. Any help here?

Shadows 11-15-2005 04:24 PM

Sounds like it's time to get a new computer.

Unfortunately, I'm no computer expert. :(

you could have spyware running unknown in the backround :-/
or your ram could be small. how much you got?

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-15-2005 04:27 PM

I'll just type off everything it says on my tower:

2 GHz AMD Athlon processor
512 MB DDR SDRAM membory
80 GB hard drive
64 MB Video RAM

SF- Screw new computer. This one isn't that old. :p

Shadows 11-15-2005 04:29 PM

^^ That's not small. You've got the same amount of everything that I do, but my comp is running fine. Spyware can really bog it down though, especially when you've got hundreds running.

Get Ad-Aware and run it. Now.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-15-2005 04:35 PM

Allright, thanks. I'm downloading it now. 3% so far! :p

Shadows 11-15-2005 04:36 PM

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

It's free and it's extremely useful in keeping your computer running well.

http://www.download.com

If you are having computer troubles, get Spyware Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware SE, CCleaner, and AVG anti-virus there.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-15-2005 04:46 PM

I have Spyware Doctor already, but apparently it's rather useless. :-/ 80% on the Ad-Aware download. Let's hope that works...

I'm almost to 7000. Only 400 more.

Plus over 500 rep.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-15-2005 04:52 PM

:upset: I installed Ad Aware, but when I try to run it, it says this:

Ad-Aware.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

This is another problem I have once in a while. I download programs, install them, but I can't run them. AIM is that way, as well as this, and a few others. WTF!

I haven't checked my rep.

and Jake, run your comp in safe mode, something is probably keeping it from running normally.

Your computer is seriously infected. Virues check, clear spyware, disc defrag...sounds like you need everything right now.

Do you have virus protection?

How do you check your rep ?

Jom 11-15-2005 05:02 PM

Agreed - double check your system processes. Does anything look particularly funky while eating up a lot of space? Try shutting that down.

Otherwise, I'd ask you to run AVG Free to see if you have anything nasty.

i am the robots 11-15-2005 05:02 PM

Don't suggest anything irreversable until he checks in safe mode.

Download HijackThis.

If it gives you an intro screen, just choose 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'.

If you don't get the intro screen, just hit Scan and then click on Save log.

Then, post your log in this forum. A few buddies and I are starting a company up, although nothing is finished/forums are temporary. We're accepting logs right now though.

I also recommend running CleanUp!

Stormrider 11-15-2005 05:11 PM

How do you know which post you were repped for ?
Sry if this is stupid...
