I work at a music shop so..............

Crapdragoon 01-06-2005 06:24 PM
Crap, do you own any SWR stuff?

I've got the Workingman 4004 half stack. 400 watts through a 4x10. Awesome.
I've also got a Silverado Special. It's a 350 watt 2x12 combo, but they don't make them anymore.

www.swrsound.com
i wish man, played through a swr half stack though , and it was awesome, that silverado special is cool, wish they still made em

LewsTherin 01-06-2005 06:24 PM

yeah, you are ****ing lucky.

i was gunna apply at my local shop, but then they closed (those bastards), so i couldnt.

bottlerocket 01-06-2005 06:29 PM

LewsTherin 01-06-2005 06:30 PM

why are there 2 billion+ votes in the poll?

bottlerocket 01-06-2005 06:32 PM

What types of 115 cabs would you reccomend? I'm looking at the GK Backline 115BLX now because I have a GK 1001RB head and a GK Backline 410BLX cab, so I'm thinking it would mesh.

Suggestions?

RaVen_Bassist 01-06-2005 06:33 PM

Hahaha, yea.

I was thinking. We have this awesome 50,000+ post thread.

The guitar forum has a 70,000+ post thread.

They were started around the same time in July.

Well, the guitar forum usually has about twice as many people viewing it as bass does. To me, this says that we're either a closer knit community, or we're just bigger post-whores. The way I see it, they should have 100,000 posts, to go along with the double amount of viewers. I think we should try to pass them. BUT, we shouldn't just have posts saying "postcount++". They should be productive. I really think that we can pass them. Just a thought.

RaVen_Bassist 01-06-2005 06:33 PM

Oh, I almost forgot,

postcount++

:D

im lookin at em on gk's website, looks like it would. it doesnt have a horn, which you dont really need.

your 4x10 is 8 ohm, 400w
the 1x15 is 8 ohm 200w

600w @ 4 ohms, the head pumps out 700 at 4, but that should be fine as long as you dont crank it, rgiht?

Dieforitall89 01-06-2005 06:39 PM

Woo. I got a rehearsal tomorrow and a gig on the 29th. :)

BUT...All the SWR Workingmans cabs run at 4 ohms and have the same wattage(being 4x10 400, 1x15 200) Wouldnt it be a bit more efficient to just save up for an all around better cab(s) rather then risk having to go through more then one.

LewsTherin 01-06-2005 06:46 PM

reptilia - the strokes.

it had been rational gaze - meshuggah

RJDBass 01-06-2005 06:49 PM

Dieforitall89 01-06-2005 06:51 PM

what do you mean, risk having to go through more than one?

i think gav wants to keep his 4x10, and add a 1x15, so he'll have a full-stackish sort of thing, right gav?

OHHHH if he already has one part yeah..But if he was looking to buy a full Backline stack I just havn't heard good things about them, My bad.

oh okay...you just had me a bit confused, cuz u listed both parts, which both ran at 4 ohms, and i was like '4 + 4 = 2. that wouldnt work, why would he tell gav to do that?'

yes, i was really confused.
