As I Lay Dying and Shadows Fall is a mainstream metal act, not Opeth.

Opeth is decently mainstream metal. I mean, not that many people know about them, but their albums are selling out of Hot Topic, for ****'s sake.

Today, a guy at work who is mostly into punk asked me if I knew of PJ Harvey.. he said he hadn't heard of "them" before. Opeth might be obscure to the mainstream, but they'll be one of the first bands you hear about if you delve into metal.
