Heh, yeah he is a funny guy.

STS9 and the Disco Biscuits are pretty good. Saw them at Wakarusa at like 4 AM.

Ah I just listened to "Another day". Definetly my favorite guitar solo by petrucci. Too bad it is so short in comparison to his 32nd note pentuplet solos. :upset:

Jezen 06-30-2006 02:06 AM

You mentioned Lotus Feet, do you mean Steve Vai?

Futuro 06-30-2006 02:09 AM
You mentioned Lotus Feet, do you mean Steve Vai?
Shakti.

Steve Vai isn't worthy of cleaning John Mclaughlins pool.

Double Bass Jim 06-30-2006 02:30 AM

I'm not a fan of vai.. Just can't get into em

:chug:

Double Bass Jim 06-30-2006 02:56 AM

I got into a fight with the guitar forumers hahaha

They all said vai was much better then yngwie on that G3 DVD... But I disagree 100%. He smoked them both off the stage.

Vannaroth 06-30-2006 03:02 AM

Yeah Yngwie was great fun to watch, I like how he occasionally signalled to the keyboardist to tell him to keep up lol. I found Vai very boring but didnt watch Satriani (thats who they were with wasnt it?)

Futuro 06-30-2006 03:29 AM

I like Vai and satch myself. Both can get very tedious to listen to after a while though.

Can't wait for the new Al DiMeola Cd. :D

EDIT: But honestly John is so much more creative than Vai or satch.

Also Jim I have to agree with you Malmsteen blows Vai and satch away.

Futuro 06-30-2006 05:31 AM

YAY! Im happy.

Got a M-Audio Axiom midi keyboard.

Don't forget Paul Gilbert, he's awesome. Not quite up to Yngwie's standard, though, imo.

Jezen 06-30-2006 05:59 AM

I like Vai for his music, not his shred skill.

Jezen 06-30-2006 06:09 AM

Haha I just noticed that on TL's Creative Control, when he talks about his crashes he says he didn't want much tone so the crashes have very small - 8 inch - bells. Lol 8 inch?!

Mistake for sure.

8 Centimetres, maybe?

Jezen 06-30-2006 06:38 AM

I should think so.

LiquidTensionTheatre 06-30-2006 06:39 AM

How useful is creative control?

I'm thinking of getting it

~~

Jezen 06-30-2006 06:44 AM

Actually very good for a DVD. I still prefer a good book, but this DVD comes with like 100 or so good exercises.

DO NOT get Carter Beauford's DVD. It is rubbish. He's a great drummer, and I really dig his stuff but he is just so.... dumb.

LiquidTensionTheatre 06-30-2006 07:46 AM

Haha! I'll bear that in mind, BB.

I like books too, I'm forever working through the three and four limb exercises in Transitions by Russ Miller. That book has helped me go from not playing any difficult independance, to having the facility to complement several different musicians at a time with my playing.

Panopticon 06-30-2006 07:59 AM

IMO EVERYONE here should pick up tommy igoe's groove essentials DVD. Pick it up without a doubt.

Drum Phil 06-30-2006 09:06 AM

Some fucker slapped my ear last night. Air had to go somewhere, unfortunately that happened to be straight through my ear drum.

If that wasnt enough, i got my drink spiked too.

LiquidTensionTheatre 06-30-2006 09:26 AM

God. I'd consider staying at home in future!

One of my friends had his drink spiked last night.

Well he claims he did, but he is awfully... Well, we'll just say he tends to seek attention.

I've never had a perforated eardrum, how is it around loud noise? ie. drums?

~~

Sunshine 06-30-2006 09:41 AM

'Morning~

Ugh.

I woke up to a fuzzy cat butt in my face.

My parents forgot to feed him this morning =/

It hurts. A lot.Quiet stuff isnt bad but it hurts to speak cause of my nasal passages being connected to my ear and stuff. It also affects your balance and makes you feel sick a lot.
