Well, I imagine it's hard to drive when you're conflicted with bulbus 'roids, Jeremy.

Ming-a-Ling 06-29-2006 09:48 PM

I'm flying, so I only have to worry about my roids when we hit pockets of turbulence. To drive there is like 24 hours I think.

Sunshine 06-29-2006 09:51 PM

Ew, 24 hours of driving.

That would be worse than the long flight.

I made sure to get an aisle seat so I can walk around whenever I damn well feel like it...which'll be a lot, 'cause I can't stand just sitting around.

I need a new, bigger coloring book and some sharper crayons.

Seafroggys 06-29-2006 09:57 PM
My hard disc crashed a few weeks ago, I just have ELP, Tool, Rush, King Crimson, Zappa, Sir millard mulch, and Shakti on my comp right now.

EDIT: and Tabla beat science.
Love your taste. Prog-rock fan? :D

I've never driven that long. Longest I've driven was from Denver to down here, which was 16. And it's an 8 hour drive from Denver to Montana, so I just added the two together. I couldn't handle a 24 hour drive either though. I don't even really like 2 hour drives.

Sunshine 06-29-2006 10:06 PM

Apparently when I was 2 turning 3 [seriously, over my 3rd birthday], my parents and I drove from Cali to NC. It took 4 days.

From here to Utah was like 13 hours...that blew.

As did CO back to here.

The car is just an uncomfortable place to be.

Double Bass Jim 06-29-2006 10:09 PM

Long drives are the worst

I can feel great at first then when im in the car longer then 30mins I just feel like crap.

I can't stand drivin!

Sunshine 06-29-2006 10:10 PM

My heels start to hurt after a few hours =/

The only thing that really entertains me is passing people at 90 mph. Or, when absolutely NO ONE is around, driving down the center of the street.

Janeway 06-29-2006 10:11 PM

I love long car/bus rides.
So long as I've got batteries, advil, and I'm not sitting next to anybody.
It gives me a hella long time to think and listen to music and do nothing.

Sunshine 06-29-2006 10:13 PM

Usually when my family goes on trips, the back is all cramped 'cause of stuff.

So. There's no room to lay down.

I miss being little, when the back of the car was still longer than I am.

Ming-a-Ling 06-29-2006 10:18 PM

I've never been a fan of long car rides. I think I have ADD. I have a tough time sitting still for that long.

Seafroggys 06-29-2006 10:21 PM

my work told me they were scheduling me for 24 hour weeks, but I've already worked over 22 hours and I have 8.5 tomorrow plus more on Saturday.

I don't mind, its summer and I need the money.

Janeway 06-29-2006 10:22 PM

We manage to fit all of our crap in the trunk, but we always end up taking my grandma along with us. And of course she always gets to sit in the back seat with me and my sister, so it's cramped.
I forgot about her.

Actually, the last place we went was Atlantic City six years ago. =/
And that's only an 8 hour drive.

And it sucked. I don't know why we couldn't just go to NYC instead. It's right there. We live right near one of the coolest cities in the world, but we've never been. Gr.

Sunshine 06-29-2006 10:30 PM

I don't think very many people are huge fans of them.

There's a large bug flying around in my room. I don't know what it is, how to kill it, and I hate killing bugs because guts are involved.

It's weirding me out, just a little.

Double Bass Jim 06-29-2006 10:33 PM

Plus reading in a car is impossible, get an instant headache from that.

Sunshine 06-29-2006 10:34 PM

Awww really?

I'm blessed with the ability to read [in the car, that is]. The problem is, I just...don't.

What I really want to do is color. But you can't do that in the car, the ride is too bumpy. Another reason flying > car rides.

Janeway 06-29-2006 10:34 PM

I get that too unless I cover my head to block out the moving scenery from the windows.

Sunshine 06-29-2006 10:41 PM

I had a friend who'd get carsick if he read the signs outside of the car.

He moved to Japan, so he didn't have that problem 'cause when he looked at the signs..well..it looked like scribble to him.

But then he took Japanese and started learning to read the signs. Cue carsickness.

Seafroggys 06-29-2006 10:43 PM

i love listening to my CDs in the car. It shuts out the rest of the world, and you can watch the scenary while listening to kickass music.

Sunshine 06-29-2006 10:43 PM

Driving to techno makes the trip go fastest.

Maggot Dream 06-29-2006 10:45 PM

I like to pick an album and listen to it all the way through. Used The Wall once, works like a charm.

Futuro 06-29-2006 10:46 PM

Im addicted to this idiotic Sir Millard Mulch album :(

Virigil is insane on it.
My musical philosophy is a drummer's wet dream. When I worked with Virgil Donati, the only instruction I gave him was, "Just come up with something really creative and fun, and be as over-the-top as you want." When you are working with someone like that, it's all you really need to say. They know what to do from there.
LittlePound 06-29-2006 10:52 PM
Driving to techno makes the trip go fastest.
i have a friend like that, he can't listen to techno and drive becuase then he has the tendency to speed and he doesn't want a lot of tickets.

Futuro 06-29-2006 10:54 PM

I cant listen to techno because I have a tendancy to play russian roulette with a fully loaded gun.

LittlePound 06-29-2006 10:56 PM

hahahhhahaahha

mysticalyeti 06-29-2006 11:25 PM

lol

INTIAAAAL D

Seafroggys 06-29-2006 11:27 PM

some of my friends like techno, damn geek influence on them.

If Nick never went to CAL, we wouldn't have as much geek influence on us as we do. Blegh, anyway....

once I get a car with a CD player, I'll probably play non-stop Who.

Sunshine 06-29-2006 11:44 PM

I freaking love the techno.

Well...not all of it. Some of it blows, and some of it is really very boring.

But a lot of it is good. Even techno remixes of regular old songs are fun <3

Futuro 06-29-2006 11:46 PM

I listen to some electronic music, I was just making a joke.

I love Sphongle for instance.

NP: Shakti- Lotus Feet

Double Bass Jim 06-29-2006 11:47 PM

I dig the carlin reference ^
