Blood On the Tracks
/beat

Lily Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts is one of my all time favorite songs.
Dylan throws in so many subtle little things like changing the point of view. It makes you think why he did. The best reason I can come up with is he was just playing on everyone overanalyzing his lyrics and having a good time with it.
that would definitely make sense

Amanda/WG: go buy Blood on the Tracks

JonG 09-09-2005 05:00 PM

I've been listenin' to Nashville Skyline, and I love it. Girl From The North Country is fantastic :)

I really disliked NS when I first got it, but it has since grown on me.

Does anyone have the Blonde on Blonde outakes album?
Blood on the Tracks. Buy It Now.
I just went shopping (in my garage) and found it in it's original packaging and everything along with:

Little Feat- Waiting for Columbus
Roy Orbison- Mystery Girl
Jeff Back- Wirerd (OMGWTFBBQHELSYEAH!)
John Lennon/ Yoko Ono- Double Fantasy

magicbus 09-09-2005 05:28 PM

David Bowie is amazing.

Glitterati 09-09-2005 05:28 PM
I don't think you can define a "good" singer.

I love Morrison because his voice matched the music perfectly.
Exactly. I find that if the music you play matches your voice, that's cooler than just having a "great voice", if that makes any sense.
I love David Bowies' voice, even when listening to a song the emotion/attitude just pours out.
I dunno, David Bowie Classic Rock? I think so.

Bah, no not glam! I consider him Classic Rock.
Bowie fanboy, right here
Ha, Journey gets no love cause thats all they sing about.

I'm listening to them right now as a matter of fact.

Np: Wheel In The Sky

I think Dylans' problem is he just can't remember, I saw him in concert not long ago and I know most of his songs by heart and he'd skip a few lines in a song or something along that lines quiet a few times.
I don't mind Journey. I prefer Prism. For some reason one always reminds me of the other.

I'd say just the opposite about Dylan. Many of his songs have 10+ verses, and I can guarantee not many people can remember every line to every song when they are as big of a pothead as he was. You can't blame someone for forgeting a line (or verse..heh heh) here or there. I've done that before when performing, although it was a song I wrote so no one realized it.

BludgeonySteve 09-09-2005 06:08 PM

I like Journey. Wheel In The Sky is kinda cheesy though.

Quite the statement there, Pink.

Oh yeah, I was gonna ask this. What was the drug that Hendrix got arrested for possessing that one time, when a fan slipped it in his bags? I can't remember if it was cocaine or heroin (it might be neither for all I know).

And did we ever get to hear clips of SonorKens gig?

Walrus Gumboot 09-09-2005 06:31 PM

Disc 2:

1) Track 1
2) Melissa
3) Track 3
4) Midnight Rider
5) New song from Hittin' the Note

Anyone see The Foo Fighters play Born on the Bayou on the Hurrican relief concert? Paul Simon was just on.

Walrus, I think "That Slow One" is Woman Across the River.

I heard he thought his manager did it because he wanted a new manager and the one he had at the time was like part of a gang, so that manager did it to show him a lesson. Or something, I can barley remember anything about it except I think it was in Toronto?

jpj 09-09-2005 06:40 PM

And "New Song" is Rockin' Horse.

Thanks JPJ, I changed it on my WMP, but I fear it's too late for you guys :upset:

I enjoyed seeing Neil Young, I'm sure that he was moved by this whole thing, he's such a compassionate person

My Dad was acting like such an old person when the Foo Fighters came on "HEY COOL! JOHN FOGERTY! Wait, thats not John Fogerty :(

I did not see that. I would have wanted to see Paul Simon. How did he do?

And thank you soo much for the uploads Walrus Gumboot. I've been gobbling up every upload I can get my hands on like some sort of smack addict since they closed the YSI threads.

I liked the song, but his voice was noticeably off.

Do you know the name's of Track 1 and Track 3? It's driving me crazy because I can't think of the names

Which reminds me, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel are my favourite singing duo...second only to Lennon and McCartney.

Man I've got one of those caffeine buzzes again. This is weird. It feels like the buzz I get from smoking a few cigarettes. I'm not a regular cig smoker so I find it affects me quite greatly.

I'm just glad people are actually uploading them, it sucks when you upload and nobody bothers to comment
...I saved the best for last :D

1) Mountain Jam Featuring Trey Anastasio (Imagine a 45-or so year old man smoking a joint, ripping off his shirt, beating his chest and screaming with glee right behind me)
2) Everyone screaming for an encore (We were right next to the mic, I can kind of here my sister and I saying "Yay" like retards to make fun of the guy behind us)
3)One Way Out

I laughed when I read your name. You're overdoing the whole stoner thing though...and I can imagine it getting very annoying.

Mountain Jam is a great song though. I'll agree to that.

livinlavidatoka 09-09-2005 07:45 PM

when duane did it tho, man, it was like an epiphany, like a sonic orgasm (like, no clean up!) he and dickey hit it up like a bowl. whoa when it goes back after the drum and bass and waltz part is makes me feel like an earthquake i mean yeah anyway i cant describe it

elizabeth read also, but once i had smoked 3 bowls, and big like a 1/2 gram each and when the bass break thing came in (you know like eweee, like the ascending scale) i was like WHAT IS IN MY HEAD that was sick

also bongs, but thats a story for another day (bowl?
