Nice Schyma.
Derek Trucks is amazing. Hopefully he comes to Iowa. I might go to Gov't Mule, it's a bit north, but I might. |
I'm definitely going again this summer. It was easily the highlight of my summer last year. I just hope my mom doesn't end up scheduling our vacation when they're coming here, which would happen with my luck. I missed Tom Petty and The Black Crowes last year because I was in Florida.
Derek Trucks is amazing. Hopefully he comes to Iowa. I might go to Gov't Mule, it's a bit north, but I might.
He came here and I'm still kicking myself for not going. Tickets were only like $19. And definitely go to Gov't Mule if you can...I can't believe it's been almost two years since I saw them. |
Haha I can remember when you saw them. Well I remember you telling us about it.
And thanks so much for that info, I'm going on the biggest spree right now. :) |
I made a mistake not going to the Allman show last year too.
I really with this damn confirmation email would come so I could get my password or whatever and download a bunch of albums while I could. Rapidshare always finds some way to suck. Did you guys get the email right after you signed up? Edit: Awesome, I got my account info. Obscure albums here I come. |
Yeah, check your junk email folder cause that's where mine was.
I must have downloaded like 20 albums already. |
I demand uploads.
|
now that i have the free acoutn i dotn know what to upload.
|
Isn't EVH making a new CD or somethin' like that?
That would be sweet if he did. That would be awesome if Van Halen did a CD with Sammy sometime soon. After seeing them in the summer of '04, I'd buy it. |
Bob Weir is pretty ace* on these bootlegs that I have.
No Donna=good. On one of these bootlegs, the finale is Throwin' Stones > Touch of Grey > Estimated Prophet. /orgasm *oshi no pun intended. Not kidding. |
No Donna=good.
You no like Donna? |
No.
I need to make a definition on Urban Dictionary. Donna Godchaux: Back-up singer for the Grateful Dead, usually singing out of key. You can find her annoying screams in "Playing In The Band." |
i just downloaded an album done by Grace Slick and The Great Society, the band Grace was in before JA, i hope its good.
|
No.

I don't see the e-mail box.
EDIT: Nevermind, got it |
Anybody want anything?
I'm bored. http://rateyourmusic.com/user_albums/album_list_id_is_83354_and_list_type_is_all |
Anybody want anything?

Wow, I used to like Donna, but now I see that JonJ and Lunch don't, so it must be cool not to like her. Shi, must... change... opinion... to... fit... in...
Just kidding, I never liked her too much, but she's not horrible. |
The reason why she was so "bad", was that they didn't have enough monitors for everybody, so she never heard herself sing. That's kind of difficult when singing I'd think.
|
I don't see how you can criticize her without first criticizing Phil Lesh on Uncle John's Band (and others).
Seriously, listen to the live version on the extended edition of Workingman's Dead. Jerry and Bob have a really nice harmony with Jerry's higher, softer voice, and Bob's lower voice. Then there's Phil wailing in the background, not even close to being in key, like someone's got his balls in a vice. I can't listen to the song for more than 30 seconds because it makes me cringe. |

could you upload Roxy and Elsewhere please?
the Grace Slick and Great Society is awesome, this version of Soembody To Love is awsome. |
I never really liked Estimated Prophet, Touch Of Grey is pretty good but doesn't really sound like a Dead song. Haven't heard Throwin' Stones yet, I stupidly neglect downloading all the albums everyone sends out so I missed all those Dead albums that (those) times.
|
I like most Dead equally. It just depends on what kind of mood I'm in.
NP: Gov't Mule-No Quarter (omg musical orgasm) |

thanks man, i appreciate it.

I'm not getting the e-mail. I registered 5-10 minutes ago, should it be taking this long? I checked both my inbox and bulk folders too. Any help?
I prefer early dead by a lot to later Dead. In the Dark... those other 80's albums that I've heard = not the Dead's best. Shakedown Street is solid though, but not amazing. |

JonG, requests are Minutemen - Buzz or Howl Under The Influence of Heat and Curtis - Curtis, please.
JonG, requests are Minutemen - Buzz or Howl Under The Influence of Heat and Curtis - Curtis, please.
Indeed, I will. Both are excellent. Mayfield's best, and Minutemen's second best. :p |
The Allmans are touring again? Awesome, I think I was the only one here who missed them last summer (no money, stupid unemployment). Now I have a job though so I can afford to go.
The ABB will be great if they come, and my dad will pay whatever huge amount of money they charge for them. Whats their line up like these days? I hear Greg's voice is pretty bad, but as long as he plays some good organ I'm happy. So far my summer concert list is them, The Who (granted that they come to Philly) and Dream Theater in a few weeks. All of them should be good conerts. Hopefully I'll be seeing Maiden in late fall, too. I hope Dio does another tour. |

Dammit, rapidshare still won't send me my e-mail with the password.
Thanks, Jon. |

Phil also plays bass, amazingly well, so his weak vocal sports can be forgiven. Donna is only supposed to be a singer, so she really has no excuse. |
Thought I'd let all the Americans on here know that PBS is showing a Springsteen concert at 10:30, EST (which is now for me.) I'm not much of a fan, but he puts on one helluva show.

Though, one song that he always sounds strained on these days is Whipping Post. I guess his voice just lacks the power to do it well anymore. |
