I have a poster of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the Doors and a really cool poster of the words "Imagine" in my room. I'll take pictures of the Beatles + Imagine, they're cool.
I don't have any music posters in my room.

The only place around here that sells them is Sam Goody and the only good poster they have is Abbey Road, but I don't want to pay 10 bucks for a poster. Yeah, my room kind of sucks.

Broken Arrow 09-08-2005 05:58 PM

I only have 2 posters, Zeppelin and Sabbath but I have alot of magazine cut outs of Floyd, Hendrix, Neil and the Grateful Dead.

Illmatic 09-08-2005 05:59 PM
I got this pretty cool Beatles one of them in Sgt. Peppers uniforms but its one of those pictures made up of like millions of tiny pictures.
I also have a Dave Navarro, Jane's Addiction, Jimi Hendrix, Scarface, John Lennon, Stones, Doors, and Incubus posters in my room.
What are you, a rapper?

I have a HTWWW poster, The Wall, ABB + moe., Steve Miller + George Thorogood, Tom Petty + Black Crowes, H.R. Puffnstuff ( ), and I have this poster of Hulk Hogan that my brother had when he was like 8...

Lunch 09-08-2005 06:01 PM

I have two Zeppelin posters and a Hendrix poster. But the coolest one is the Scarface poster.

I'm no rapper though.

Jacaranda 09-08-2005 06:05 PM

Oh my! Any one just see the Stones on the NFL Game Tonight (if in USA) They censored "You make a dead man come" Lame, but check it out on ABC if your not watching it Mick's still got a voice.

Now its Kanye, I want the Stones back.
Kanye with Adam Levine, and its a pretty bad song IMO.

I'm no rapper, its a good movie! My Godfather poster got ripped up :(

Broken Arrow 09-08-2005 06:10 PM

What song(s) did the Stones play?

Jacaranda 09-08-2005 06:12 PM

I just caught the middle of Start Me Up. (damn you Charles Mingus) I think they might come back on. I hope they do, they still got it no matter what anyone says.

They coming back on! I'm so excited.

I caught all of Start Me Up

When are they coming back?

Richards looks so drugged and dead lol. Wood had a nice solo there though. I'm really jealous of my rich friends who are seeing them. Who fucking introduced them to the Stones? Me. Tickets are at least a hundred bucks though, and I didn't have that in May when they went on sale.

Jacaranda 09-08-2005 06:20 PM

Oh, I know this girl in school knows I love the Stones and she was telling me she got front row tickets to a show and then I asked her what songs she knows and I think her response was "I just want to see Coldplay actually" I was so mad. She's never heard any Stones songs.

They are back! "The Worlds Greatest Rock N' Roll Band" - the announcer

Np: Rough Justice a new Stones song.

My favorite is Gimme Shelter and after that is about anything they recorded up to 1980.

Glitterati 09-08-2005 06:21 PM
My picture is Mick Taylor.
Nice

I'm getting back into the Stones right now. I loved them about two years ago, but kinda got out of them.

What's everyone's favorite Stones song(s)? For me:

Gimme Shelter
Street Fighting Man
Brown Sugar
Get Off Of My Cloud
Wild Horses
Tumbling Dice
Beast Of Burden
Jumpin' Jack Flash

Off the top of my head.

robo2448 09-08-2005 06:27 PM

Everything from Beggar's Banquet-Exile On Main Street is great. Tr00f. Rough Justice was alright, but it sucks because I had to have the volume really low so I couldn't really hear Wood's playing. He was at a lower volume than Richards for some reason. Richards looks so funny.

I listened to Some Girls again this afternoon. I think I might review it if it hasn't been done. One of my favorite albums ever.

If I had to pick just one song though, it would probably be You Can't Always Get What You Want.

Fuck. Greenday's on now.

Illmatic 09-08-2005 06:32 PM

Gimme Shelter
Love in Vain
Sympathy For the Devil
Salt of the Earth
No Expectations
Tumbling Dice
Torn and Frayed
Rocks Off
Sister Morphine
Let It Bleed
Wild Horses
Beast of Burden
Street Fighting Man
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Honky Tonk Women
Let It Loose

Jacaranda 09-08-2005 06:40 PM

Keith Richards had a beautiful voice back in the Exile on Mainstreet era, Happy is one of my favorite songs of all time.

I remember RNR begging you to change it because he didn't want to see Morrison's nipples every time you posted.
I've got that same picture on the wall right above my bed (except it's huge). Morrisons nipples are approximately 2 feet above my head every night while I'm sleeping. I don't really mind.

I've never heard a song I didn't like by The Doors, some of the songs from The Soft Parade took a few listens to grow on me. Although some of their live songs don't always sound too great.

I'm fairly sure I named my favourite Stones songs yesterday...maybe the day before.

rockinbass17 09-08-2005 07:00 PM
The Doors constantly straddle the line between "great" and "unlistenable" for me. They have their moments---there are definitely high points in their career---and they have definitely put out a lot of crappy songs.
I agree;

Strange Days, S/T, and morrison Hotel are all golden albums

Waiting for the Sun is pretty good,

But then I'm not thrilled about L.A. Woman. I haven't really heard Soft Parade, so I can't judge that one.

But LA Woman's the best

It's bluesy rock like Morrison Hotel, but better IMO. Most people consider it one of the Doors best too. I'm surprised you don't like it, give it another chance. I haven't heard good things about the Soft Parade, supposed to be poppy, but poppy's not always a bad thing. My guess is that it's not really that bad, just nowhere near their other stuff.

Santana stole the pregrame show. I wish I was seeing him live. I'll check when he's in NY and see if tickets are available. Wish he played Black Magic Woman though. Who's performing at half-time?

np- Comfortably Numb (off DSOT)- best version I've heard

rockinbass17 09-08-2005 07:13 PM

I think I not a fan of L.A. Woman is because it is more upbeat, and I tend to like the darker Doors stuff. Strange Days is my favorite album, and it's they're darkest.

I've only heard LAW twice, though. Maybe it'll grow on me.

The darker lyrics like s/t and Strange Days pwn the lyrics on LA Woman. I like the blues-rock sound on LA Woman better though. Actually I go back and forth between LA Woman and Strange Days a lot as my favorite. LA Woman's lyrics are still good, but the early, dark, lyrics are better.

rockinbass17 09-08-2005 07:19 PM

"Horse Latitudes" actually scares me. That's how good it is.

Broken Arrow 09-08-2005 07:50 PM

Is "Riders on the Storm" and "L'america" not dark enough?

RockAndRoll 09-08-2005 08:09 PM

Are you going to robert plant?

magicbus 09-08-2005 08:33 PM

My absolute favorite Stones song is Love In Vain. It's such a great cover. I really like Jagger's vocals on it too, very fun to sing along with.

Others:

Gimme Shelter
Brown Sugar
Paint It Black
Sympathy For The Devil
Country Honk
Let It Bleed
Wild Horses
I Got The Blues

I love the Stones, awesome stuff. I'm missing them when they come to my town, but hopefully I'm going to see them in Omaha in January.

Against Miik! 09-08-2005 08:49 PM

Honkey Tonk Woman and Wild Horses are my favorites. My dad, on occasion, plays with a Stones cover band.

magicbus 09-08-2005 11:12 PM

My brother saw the Stones because his friend had an extra ticket. I listen to them more than he does

Anyways, Bela Fleck's "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo" is very cool. I like the combination of instruments and the songs all have a really good groove, if you will.

Leper 09-08-2005 11:14 PM

I'd say Angie is my favourite Stone's song, it's such a great ballad. As Tears Go Bye isn't very well known by them, but I urge everyone to download it or something because it's another beautiful ballad.

Metalika 09-08-2005 11:18 PM

a couple of my fav stones songs are cocaine eyes and blinded by the light, just to name a couple

thickasabrick 09-08-2005 11:40 PM
a couple of my fav stones songs are cocaine eyes and blinded by the light, just to name a couple
I'm quite positive neither of those songs were written by the Rolling Stones. I could be wrong, but Cocaine Eyes was written by Neil Young, and Blinded by the Light was written by Bruce Springsteen (although I've only heard the Manfred Mann version)

Leper 09-08-2005 11:45 PM

Ya that's what I thought too, but I wasn't sure so I didn't say anything.
