I'm somewhat considering doing an depressive ambient black metal project as my first real recording project with lyrics revolving around anti-Urbanism. Any of you truly grim people know where I should draw inspiration?

Since it's winter it would be incredibly harsh and I would thus be inspired to write on my hate of the city. I don't really have anything to base my lyrics on right now though.

A band's importance to a genre does not obligate me to like thier music.

Also, again, my sincere apologies for only recently taking the time to listen to one highly influential band, because valhalla knows that there aren't any others in the world that I have spent my time with instead.

I always have respect for the work, dedication, and influence of a band. This does not always make the music "good".

Well, the point of black metal like that is to have a clashing, confused sound that depends on modernity but despises it at the same time. That's why anti-urban black metal tends to be depressive.
