Mwahahaha i only have 1 Dio sabbath album as it is so i think i will keep an eye open for that one :D
I almost got a Dio live album the other day but it was £16, and im too cheap to pay that much for a cd:angry:
That's what bit torrent is for..... lawl :p |
I don't like paying more than £12 for a cd, but then again I hate downloading albums.
|
I hate downloading albums, and i also hate spending £16 on albums especially when i can get it from somewhere like amazon for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper
|
i get most of my cds from a secondhand bookstore near my house
|
I exchanged a few of my sisters' CDs at this used cd store place for better ones. I usually buy CDs and rarely download anymore.
|
I normally use a site that is linked form amazon called CaimenUSA (or something like that) delivery can be slow but its normally loads cheaper than using amazon itself
/cries for the shrinkage that has been done onto his avatar |
Have any of the UK guys in here heard Iommi's show on Planet Rock called Black Sunday?
He has the most boring voice I've ever heard, but plays some damn good music, last night he played Trashed after talking about how it was written, but I couldn't really hear what he said 'coz my Mum was talking to me :-\ |
Cant say i have but ill keep an eye open for it just for the sake of listening
|
7pm on Sundays.
|
/writes it down on a piece of paper so he doesnt forget
watch me lose the piece of paper :p |
The thread is slow again, so lets have some more lyric challenges.
Get the song right, post some lyrics, simple stuff :thumb: '' Remember the face you saw That once was you Spirit high there's no way that You could lose Give him rope they said As you look the hangman in the eye Now around your neck you feel The noose'' Go! |
/bumps thread until he can think of the song
|
I've actually forgotten which song it is :-\
Edit: no wait, I remember! |
Im thinking headless cross but i know that not right.
give me a clue |
Its on an earlier album from the same era.
|
Hi guys, just been back from a holiday which explains my non-posting for some time.
As for the lyrics, I only have TYR so I wouldnt know. Andas for Iommi's show I miss it cos its on at like 5 in the morning where I live so thats a pain. |
bump
So Brew what was the song your lyrics came from? |
Wow, never noticed this thread before. Those lyrics are from Lost Forever.
|
...nah i wouldnt have got that :upset:
|
Wow, never noticed this thread before. Those lyrics are from Lost Forever.
Did you google that? Cos if you did thats cheating. Either way welcome to the Black Sabbath thread. |
Pfft.. Looking at google isn't cheating.
|
heres an easy one of my favorites. one of their few in a major key.
Brothers sharing, mother's caring Nighttime falling victim to the dawn Shadows mourn Days are falling, time is calling To the Earth another life is born Love line drawn keep this thread alive!! :chug: |
Never heard it so I shall cheat, of course I won't tell anyone. And to blue3 it is cheating. It spoils it when someone googles it and then tells everyone what it is.
|
Pfft.. Looking at google isn't cheating.
You cant cheat much more than that. dont know tose lyrics, but to bump the thread i am once again gonna say how much i hate no stranger to love, what where they thinking? |
The lyrics are from Hard Road.
And No Stranger For Love is from 7th Star, so is technically an Iommi solo song. |
Did you end up getting Seventh Star?
|
Nope, not yet.
I'm aiming to get it sometime soon.. |
Ok, its quite hard to find actually because of the whole Ozzy not being on it thing. Ive been looking for it too.
|
bump! bump I say. Anyhoo heres some lyrics.
There's another side of heaven This way - to technical paradise Find it on the other side When the walls fall down Love is automatic pleasure Virtual reality Terminal hate - it's a calculation Send in the child for connection Also in other news Tony Iommi does an episode in the upcoming School Of Rock series(you know the one with Gene Simmons). |
Did you google that? Cos if you did thats cheating. Either way welcome to the Black Sabbath thread.
If I told I cheated just to keep the thread alive, would you forgive me?
There's another side of heaven This way - to technical paradise Find it on the other side When the walls fall down Love is automatic pleasure Virtual reality Terminal hate - it's a calculation Send in the child for connection
That would be Computer God. It's one of my favorites with Dio. NP: Computer God |
Well done, it is an awesome song. Why dont you try some lyrics?
|
Damnit i could have got that one aswell :upset:
|
It is a very good song, I love that whole album. It really shows the diversity that this great band has. Its also there most metal sounding album.
|
Dehumanizer is a good album, but came at the wrong time.
it pretty much killed off everything that the band had achieved with the iommi/martin/powell/murray lineup |
How so? The next album (Cross Purposes) is apparently one of the best Martin ones (or so I have heard).
|
this has got nothing to do with the conversation... ive looked this up everywhere but i cant find it- figured one of you guys would know.
whos the dude on the album cover of paranoid? i know its a 'war pig' but whats his name and how did he get picked to be on the cover? |
No one knows actually. Its a bit of a mystery. I personally think its Iommi but thats just from me looking at it and there is no official info.
|
I have their greatest hits, and I really like War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man, Planet Caravan, NIB, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
|
I've only recently started getting into Sabbath Bloody Sabbath after dismissing it for ages cause it wasn't like Paranoid at all. Damn you can certainly feel the origin of metal in the title song of Sabbath in particular.
Theres something about Iommi's tone that can sound utterly evil to me. A National Acrobat is my favourite song off Sabbath, its really foreboding somehow. Electric Funeral is perhaps the most depressing song i have ever heard, there is such doom in that main riff. I'm yet to discover any of their other stuff, looking forward to it. Any recommendations for a Sabbath n00b who only knows Paranoid and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath? |
Tomorrow's Dream (Volume 4, Ozzy)
Supernaut (Volume 4, Ozzy) Neon Knights (Heaven and Hell, Dio) The Law Maker (TYR, Tony Martin) Black Sabbath (Black Sabbath, Ozzy) Iron Man (Paranoid, Ozzy) The Sign of the Southern Cross (Mob Rules, Dio) TV Crimes (Dehumanizer, Dio) Air Dance (Never Say Die!, Ozzy) Gypsy (Technical Ecstasy, Ozzy) Headless Cross (Headless Cross, Tony Martin) Jerusalem (TYR, Tony Martin) Trashed (Born Again, Ian Gillan) 7th Star (7th Star, Glen Hughes [I think, my memory is hazey at the moment] ) Megalomania (Sabotage, Ozzy) Sabbra Cadabra (Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Ozzy) The Warning (Black Sabbath, Ozzy) Hand of Doom (Paranoid, Ozzy) After Forever (Master of Reality, Ozzy) all excellent sabbath songs |
