Iron Maiden is one of my personal favourites. :D

I'm nearly there in my quest for all the studio albums :)

MAthiAS 12-14-2004 06:07 PM

Ah... I still need a few of their albums. Won't be getting them for Christmas unfortunately, though I did ask for the Rock in Rio DVD. I've got all the Bruce studio stuff except NPFTD and FOTD.

Thunder Fingers 12-14-2004 06:25 PM
/\ cheers...
but answer my question?
and his three fave Maiden albums are piece of mind, SSOASS and X-factor
(which is criminally underrated and a magnificent album)
but his 3 fave non maiden ones are Recycled by Nektar, anything by Jethro Tull
and Foxtrot by Genesis
wow.. i didnt know that.. i realy should that! :( :upset:
why you so far in the red?
im on 632, soon were gonna have a starred member of the maiden army.
we have.. :p YDload and Riva!

i only have 216 or somthing.. i dont care, im not an pit regular. so i realy have no chance...

Riva 12-15-2004 01:01 AM

I'm trying to get you three up into the stars. :)

Just I can only dish out 85 at a time right now. :(

So, YDload and myself are like 4 star colonels? :p Since the Maiden Authority would be the Field Marshall and his two Generals.

icebase 12-15-2004 03:22 AM
iron maiden army drummer here!
DAM. I wanted that position. why. k we can settle this. I have a pearl kit with sabain Mx cymbles what do you have?

Can i be Colonel!!!!!!?????? :thumb:

That way i can be in a bit of charge and still be out on the field!!!

Lord Abortion 12-15-2004 03:37 AM

cool
I just like field marshal
now to grow a handlebar moustache...

Riva 12-15-2004 04:15 AM

Right, the ordering must go thus.

Eddie-The-Trooper: Field Marshall
Gurs, ashman: Generals
Any Four-Starrer, plus selected others: Colonels
The rest to be decided by the Maiden Authority.

Permanent Solution 12-15-2004 04:16 AM

/me enters
/me has 4 stars
/me knows too little Maiden to be a part of whatever is going on :(

Riva 12-15-2004 04:18 AM

Why did you enter, Vince?

Wanna join the army?

Permanent Solution 12-15-2004 04:19 AM

I read this thread every so often but am too n00b to participate :-/

I could, but I would drag it down :p

Riva 12-15-2004 04:53 AM

Ah I see. Well, the Maiden thread is all about the knowledgable teaching the new, or is it GurS, ashman, and Eddie discussing a thing or two, while we try to figure out what is going on... :p

Yeah, I have a couple songs from most the albums to see what I'm getting next, and those were looking good along with Fear of the Dark.

Lord Abortion 12-15-2004 06:55 AM

get anything except virtual 11
It depends what you want from an album because maiden can do ANYTHING
last night i was listening to X-factor which is a much maligned album and I love it because it is so dark and spiteful and questioning of the world
which fit the context of 1994 perfectly...

Thunder Fingers 12-15-2004 06:55 AM

Fear of the dark is an very good album, but its one of maidens few album that actually have some weaker, more boring songs(thats ofcourse my opinion, but most seems to agree with me.. like GurS here, he hates "the apparition"..)

i think SiT, SSOASS or POM would be an better choice..or like Lord said, BNW is also great.

Lord Abortion 12-15-2004 06:57 AM

POM simply for the incredible still life...

Virtual XI is not an bad album.. its only that the songs can become a little long sometimes..

Like Futureal and The Clansman are brilliant songs, the angel and the gambler could have been realy good if it had been the same length on the album as on the single..(i hate to follow the crowd, but 28 times "Dont you know im a saviour, dont you know i could save your life" becomes a little to much...)

Aye, BNW will be a late buy I think though since I already have Rock in Rio though, and that is almost all of BNW anyways :)
