What other songs does Wright sing on, I really can't think of many.
Piper At The Gates Of Dawn Astronomy Domine - Vocals by Barret and Wright. Matilda Mother - Vocals by Wright and Barrett (last verse). A Saucerful of Secrets Let There Be More Light - Vocals by Waters ("now, now, now..."), then Wright. Remember a Day - Vocals by Wright. See-Saw - Vocals by Wright. More Crying Song - Vocals by Gilmour, and Wright does the harmonies. Ummagumma Astronomy Domine - Vocals by Waters (name chanting), Gilmour (high harmonies) and Wright (low ones). Sysyphus [part 1-4] - Vocals on part 4 by Wright. Atom Heart Mother Summer '68 - Vocals by Wright. Meddle Echoes - Vocals by Gimour and Wright. Obscured By Clouds Burning Bridges - Vocals by Gilmour and Wright. Stay - Vocals by Wright and Waters. The Dark Side of the Moon Time - Vocals by Gilmour and Wright. Us And Them - Vocals by Wright and Gilmour. Wish You Were Here None  Animals None The Wall None The Final Cut None A Momentary Lapse of Reason Sorrow - Vocals by Gilmour and Wright. The Delicate Sound of Thunder None The Division Bell Wearing the Inside Out - Vocals by Wright. Pulse Time/Breathe Reprise - Vocals by Gilmour and Wright. Brain Damage - Vocals by Gilmour and Wright (joins on "If your head explodes..."). Comfortably Numb - Vocals by Pratt, Gilmour and Wright. All from http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/ Also, after checking the vocals for Animals, The Wall, and The Final Cut, Roger did like everything. I mean everything. |
So you say that Waters can never touch Syd and his influence? I say Roger has had a gigantic influence on rock. Even though he wasnt the first to make concept albums, he mastered the process of it. DSotM and The Wall are both very influential albums. Many modern artists have used those albums as inspiration for their own music. Lyrically, Animals is brilliant, and Roger's most creative. Waters takes George Orwell's story of a communist society and applies it to music.
I dont see how you can say Syd has had a bigger influence than Roger. Maybe in the 60's/70's psychedelic scene, but not today, save a few cult fans.
You know I was board so I was reading the past pages that I missed in the Floyd thread, and also because I am board I thought I might share my veiws on this issue since its one I feel strongly on. I like Syd's lyrics better because they have so many different meanings to me. While Waters lyrics are great, and I identify with them, I find that I identify with Syd's lyrics much more and one song can be identified with at more then one time in my life. Though one thing that is missing from Syds lyrics is the concept album. Waters wrote brillent concept albums, and so really you are comparing the styles of two different poets when you compare Syd and Waters. You are also comparing the styles of two different guitar players when you compare Syd to Gilmour. Syd was amazing at writting rythem, and his song show it. I like his rytheme riffs MUCH more then Gilmours. Though Gilmour's strenght came in leads, so he is technically better. Syd wrote some great leads, but not as great, or as many as Gilmour. So to compare the song writing and guitar writing to the other members is like comparing Apples and Orenges (waits to see if anybody catches the reference) |
Oh shi, everyone check the bottom of page 177 if you missed all the songs Wright sings on.

Yea on the bottom of the site it does list him as keyboards and vocals, but they don't tell individiually which songs he sings on like the other albums. You win :) Jake, thanks for bumping that. |

Jake, thanks for bumping that.
:) Lemme grab the coverslip. Haha, I just remembered how huge the mullet on Scott Page, the saxophonist, is. Bwahahahaha Ok, I think it is back-up vocals on most of Disc 1, and then for Disc 2 it is Time, Us And THhem, Money, Run Like Hell. |
So are you gonna send me SYOCD in the mail or what, man?
Im sorry, my mind went blank. What version of SOYCD do you want? |

I don't even know where to begin with Pink Floyd. I have collected most of their albums. I think that nobody's home is a sort of eerie song in a way. It makes me depressed sometimes. Has anyone in here done the Wizard of Oz / Dark Side of the Moon thing? well if you havn't you should, after the Lion roars the second time on the wizard of oz you play dark side of the moon. you will flip out. it's so sweet especially when you're stoned

A true Pink Floyd band does not need the sensation of being stoned to enjoy and recognize the talent in Dark Side of the Moon, comon dude get with it. And yeah we've discussed the Wiz/DSOTM before,....peace |
Well he didn't say the band was better when you were stoned, he said watching the Wizerd of Oz lined up with Dark Side of the Moon is better stoned, whitch could be true, I don't know I've never done it non stoned.
|
Lets face it, Pink Floyd is quite enjoyable stoned or not stoned.

Hey guys, it's 2005, that means that this year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Wish You Were Here. Wouldn't it be nice if they found some footage of them performing the Wish You Were Here set?
I can only hope... |

Techno+stonage= er..So my friends say. :shifty: potw-Do you have a bootleg video of it, or some mp3s of them performing WWYH live? If it's video, then nvm, but if you're willing enough to upload some of it via YSI or whatever, that would be sweet. If anyone else has any good live songs from WYWH, could you be so kind as to share a few with me? (Nothing too huge, due to my mollasses-esque connection) |
So I just got Syd Barrett's The Madcap Laughs. What do you guys feel about it?
