Is Between the Buried and Me good and are the Mars Volta comparrisons pretty accurate? I mean, I know they aren't supposed to sound just like them, but they are supposed to be somewhat similiar I guess. I've been wanting to buy [i]Alaska[/i] but my friend keeps telling me they're bad.

Other than that, they are nothing alike. I'm a huge fan of both bands, but;

BTBAM > TMV

Also, I can hear a lot of Thursday in Forstella Ford.

To me it's sort of post-punk/experimental, but definitely an emo thing going on.

And how can you not like Clikatat? Sure, maybe to the untrained ear they sound sort of strange, but definitely give them a chance.

They're boring. Bad vocals, and the guitar and bass aren't exactly incredible either.

But yeah, I'll give 'em another listen.
