Maybe so, but Leftover Crack seem to be a lot more easily available, which influences what I buy quite heavily. And Fuck World Trade is a good album regardless.
|
Yeah (though I only have one bootleg :-/). The choice of material is pretty good though, and I can't fault the cover art at all.
|
Picked it up today:
Prefuse 73 - Surrounded By Silence |
Listen to it and tell me if it's worth buying. I heard bits of it in a record store last week and thought it sounded pretty good.
I don't like it, I actually regret buying it. But a couple of other people I've talked to think it's great, so whatever, you might like it. |
Hmmmmm. Thanks for making my decision no easier. :)
|
listened to the Echoes cd by the Rapture.. lovin that to bits.
also gave QOTSA's SFTD a spin to prep myself for L2P. currently: Radiohead - Climbing up the walls.. lordy lordy, this song haunts me.. incredible |
Going from the intro and first verse of the first track; it is, very much so. I'll get back to you tomorrow with a more detailed take on it, though.
I've listened through it a couple of times now, without skipping anything..as far as I can tell, he hasn't put a foot wrong throughout the whole thing. Listening to it further might reveal weaknesses in replay value, but first impressions are very good, though, if you like Sea Change Beck more than Odelay! Beck, you might be disappointed, I suppose. It's a lot closer to the hip hop-influenced, good-times-all-round thing he had going earlier on, than it is the singer-songwriter. And going by Tomahawk's reaction, it's possible that it's just bad, and I'm just initially misjudging it somehow. |
^That's good enough for me
~puts it on the to-buy list~ |
Digging:

I finally got around to giving Funeral a good listen (very late, I know). I like it.

I Like The Monks.
It's Monk Time. |
For now I'm listening to the B-52s self-titled, and enjoying it though I am, I think I may die from an overdose of stupid.

Comets on Fire - Hazy Field Recordings
You mean Field Recordings from the Sun? Did you mess up again (after the The Monks blunder), or is that some similarly titled release I'm not aware of? But whatever, I just finished listening to Blue Cathedral, and they finally clicked with me. Greeeaat stuff. I'll probably spin it again later to celebrate the clickingness. I've also been diggin' on GYBE lately. Lift Yr. Fists and Slow Riot. |
I'm digging The Pixies today. I'm making CDs for my friends before we go to Reading, so that they know a bit about each band before they decide who to see. So I figured I'd indulge myself, too.
Tonight = Iron Maiden. |
I'm listening to The Killers. What fun.
|
Who, funnily enough, will appear at Reading right before The Pixies.
Luckily all my friends already have their album, so I won't need to copy that one for anybody. |
I hear they suck live.
