shadows fall-the war within (its the new that either came out or is coming out, i've heard some songs from and they are awesome"

DisposableHeroes 08-30-2004 03:37 PM

New Order kicks ***, what do you make of Pleasures Of The Flesh? I'm not too impressed really

RCA 08-30-2004 05:43 PM

POTF isn't Exodus's best, but it's still a good album. You should pick it up if you are an Exodus fan and don't already have it. Yes, The New Order does indeed kick ***, and might become my new favorite album next to all the Kreator I like. I need more Testament!!! I'll order The Legacy next.

BTW, can anyone recommend me some Destruction?

NP Coroner - Internal Conflicts.

Speaking of Coroner, you can see my lovely Grin review here: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231510

Bartender 08-30-2004 06:24 PM

I can vouch for the fact that it is indeed lovely.
I can vouch for the fact that it is indeed lovely.
That's some good vouching there.

Good Destruction eh? I'd go with Release From Agony as their best album, but pretty much all the earlier material is great.

JMetallica 08-31-2004 02:03 AM

...and their last 3 albums aswell. :D

Release from Agony was probably the thrashiest and yeah, probably their best. Although, you can't go past their first EP, Sentance Of Death. I think that EP defines who and what destruction are: Total Desaster is as classic as you can get and Black Mass has one of the greatest riffs ever written (that intro is totally ownage!). It's pretty much all speed metal rather than thrash, but it is top class. I love it. I think it was re-released Infernal Overkill or Eternal Devastation, so you'd get your money worth. Yeah and The Antichrist is tops too.

Yeah, pretty much anything with Schmier on it. I haven't heard mid-ear Destruction but it is rumoured to be fairly average.

Its been at my this store i always visit, its the special edition with the camoflauge cover and bonus tracks, but ive been hesitent (sp) to buy it.

clown_phobia 08-31-2004 02:34 AM

anyone like classic metal? name the bands.

It's a pretty good album. Thrashy, lots of catchy riffs you can bang your head to. Not a classic, but if it's up for a decent price, i'd say pick it up.

And speaking of sodom, does anyone know if a new album is in the making? they havn't made a new album since M16... THREE years, which is pretty lazy by sodom standards...?

ThrashMaster27 08-31-2004 04:19 AM

Yeah a new album is on the way, but no release date has been set that I know of. Yeah, like you were saying, Destruction without Schmier were average at best.

DimebagDarrell 08-31-2004 05:44 AM

manuscriptreplica 08-31-2004 06:02 AM

Extreme Agression is one of the best metal CD's of the 00's.

ThrashMaster27 08-31-2004 06:09 AM

Erm, Extreme Aggression was released in the 80's not the 00's.

DisposableHeroes 08-31-2004 06:17 AM

ThrashMaster27 08-31-2004 06:19 AM

manuscriptreplica 08-31-2004 06:49 AM

I'd say it was 2nd hand.

DisposableHeroes 08-31-2004 07:14 AM

i think Chris said it was off amazon

manuscriptreplica 08-31-2004 07:41 AM

Heh... I was thinking of Violent Revolution for some reason, which is one of the best metal CD's of the 00's. :D

manuscriptreplica 08-31-2004 07:53 AM

Speaking of Kreator, I was talking to a sound engineer at TAFE today, and he was telling me all the bands he'd mixed. Some include Metallica, Slayer, Kreator, Strapping Young Lad, and Faith no More. Anyway, he told me that he mixed the Kreator gig, just after they released the CD 'with the praying mantis on the front' which is, Renewal, which means, he mixed BOTH PETROZZA AND VETTERLI!@!#@(*)$(&@$@$@$@%$#~!~!!!!~!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How incredible is that?!?!?

DimebagDarrell 08-31-2004 08:42 AM

i already have spreading the disease buts its been taped from a vinyl to a cassette and sounds pretty crap but i love it so when i saw it for 3.90 i couldnt resist it, its was new not 2nd hand and off amazon

DisposableHeroes 08-31-2004 01:27 PM

its a great album

ThrashMaster27 09-01-2004 01:10 AM

Great album indeed....one of their more overlooked ones, which is a shame.

DimebagDarrell 09-01-2004 04:23 AM

yeh i never understood why it was overlooked  its probably my 2nd favorite anthrax album.

N.P. Heathen - Open Grave

Greetings from Essen, Germany,
Mille

JMetallica 09-01-2004 06:28 AM

Yeah, Spreading The Disease is one of my favourite anthrax cds, if not the fave. It's so cheaps because there have been lots of low quality releases of it. I picked it up for $10 AU new. Yeah, it's tops.

Armor O'Malley 09-01-2004 07:35 AM

Spreading The Disease is excellent, am I the only one who thinks 'The Enemy' is one of the most under-rated songs ever, it's definatly one of my favourite Anthrax tracks anyhow.

DimebagDarrell 09-01-2004 08:56 AM

yeah the enemy is good i believe the track intro to reality/belly of the beast off persistence is extremely underrated the guitar intro is superb
