Ok so for like the past 5 years, every birthday/christmas I've gotten my kid brother into a new band that he ends up really liking. So this year I was like "um I'm running out, why don't you just ask for something you know you want" and he was like "no I want something new, you always give me stuff I love" so I need help thinking of bands.

Previous bands have included:
Primus
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Rush
Dimmu Borgir
Dream Theater
Children of Bodom
Mars Volta
etc

He is (maybe obviously) a bass player, and lately also a keys player...so he tends to dig stuff where those instruments are solid.

I was thinking about PTH but I think he might hate vox. Not familiar with the others, will look into.

He plays keys in an Amon Amarth-esque band so he's willing to get fairly metal in his listening.
