Neil would be cool and not over charge like a few bands that I will not name because you all know who i'm talking about :)

JonG 09-07-2005 05:29 PM

My sister went to Bonaroo 2002 and 2003. The year that Neil was there, she said his voice was shot, and couldn't understand him. Seems like Bob Dylan.
My point here is, that it isn't $2000.
and a good point it is. haha.

outrageous prices.

Walrus Gumboot 09-07-2005 05:37 PM
Have you ever had that feeling when you're listining to a song it's the best time and setting for that particular sound at the time? I was in the back of my bus with about 20 or more Mexicans talking, laughing and hanging out and I was sitting there listining to "El Cuarto de Tula" by the Buena Vista Social Club and it hit me. This is the most perfect song to listin to at this particular moment and for now-on this song will never be as perfect. Even though their not Cuban that latin atmosphere was just great for that song. It's kind of like my relationship with "The Gnome" and shrooming or Workingman's Dead and driving on a snowy interstate. So now I'm extremly addicted to the Buena Vista Social Club right now. :)
I know what you mean, I usually have an album for every part of my life. For example I listened to Ram all the time when I was in Spain, so Ram reminds me of Spain. Actually reminding isn't stong enough of a word, it's more like I'm teleported to Spain

Glitterati 09-07-2005 05:59 PM

I had my first guitar class today. I'm gonna be learning "Wake Me Up When September Ends." Fun

np: Pink Moon. I've having a Nick Drake listening session. Always mellows me out after a stressful day.

That blows. Nick Drake is great mellow music.

JonG 09-07-2005 06:05 PM

Nooo, they shut down the YSI threads.

:(

MBS 09-07-2005 06:09 PM

I know, and right before I get a faster internet connection.
:(

thickasabrick 09-07-2005 06:10 PM

All I can say is I laughed when Schyma mentioned being in the back of a van with 20 or more Mexicans listening to "El Cuarto de Tula."

Tomorrow I'm auditioning for my schools musical....last year I didn't have to audition because the teacher in charge of it understood my musical and theatrical genius. So now I have to prepare a song, I'm gonna bring my guitar because I can't sing in tune without some music. I dunno what I'll sing, most likely this song I wrote but I'm not sure. (it's an easy song and I wrote the vocal lines to suit my sub-par singing)

jpj 09-07-2005 06:10 PM

We can still upload albums in here.

If I could pick one song on guitar, and learn how to play it perfectly every time, it would be From the Morning off of that album. It's the most upliftingly complex and intricately finger-picked melody imaginable. I think that it is the best album closer.

Cool new usertitle Jon.
Nooo, they shut down the YSI threads.

:(
This will have to be our thuper thecret YSI Thread

I guess in the past half hour MX has killed YSI and put on extra ads :(

EDIT: That is a great usertitle, it sounds good without the music, unlike some lyrics

EDITEDIT: Good luck with that, thick
Nooo, they shut down the YSI threads.

For some reason, I haven't downloaded or uploaded anything in the YSI threads for a few weeks. I was just about to start participating in them again :upset:

The new adds are really annoying.

I don't really blame him though, the server must cost alot. What if he dicided to pull the plug on all of us

That makes him a bit like god, dosn't it?

Driver's test tomorrow :upset:

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-07-2005 06:15 PM

Bull****! Why the hell did he shut them down?!

jpj 09-07-2005 06:17 PM
Bull****! Why the hell did he shut them down?!
Because if he was caught with mass file sharing going on out in the open on his forums he'd be in deep shit.

ATM 09-07-2005 06:18 PM

I'm not too worried about it. I always hated when I would look at the list of all the forums, and in about 4 or so of the sections, the YSI thread would be the last thing posted in.

MBS 09-07-2005 06:18 PM

He says that we might get in trouble because it's illegal. There's a thread about it in the site forum.

These ads really suck too. :(

jpj 09-07-2005 06:20 PM

I haven't even noticed the new ads...

Walrus Gumboot 09-07-2005 06:22 PM

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387074

We could still do it in this thread, if we avoid the term YSI or Yousendit and use "upload" instead so they can't search it
Or e-mailing/IMing the links is a possibility

Such a mightly empire has fallen :(

Jacaranda 09-07-2005 06:23 PM

New ads? I thought everyone had Firefox Adblocker by now.

thickasabrick 09-07-2005 06:24 PM

I'm just mad because for the past few months I haven't been able to download songs on my computer using all those various mp3 things (soulseek, ares etc) so I've basically been living off those YSI threads. I miss them already.

ATM 09-07-2005 06:25 PM

Funkadelic/Parliament show on Oct 2nd! Sweet!

Walrus Gumboot 09-07-2005 06:26 PM

Who need's guitar scales?

I need's them

MBS 09-07-2005 06:26 PM

Not pop-up ads, they appear on the top of the page.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 09-07-2005 06:26 PM

I know I just saw it but I guess it's not worth the risk of MX geting closed down for.

We'll still use YSI but **** I got alot of albums in those threads I mean I haven't used SoulSeek in ages because using those YSI threads makes it easy to find music.

Robert Randolph/Santana show on Oct 2nd! Sweet! :D

PinkFreud 09-07-2005 06:48 PM

yeah, the thing about them is that it was a great way to get music that you just wanted to check out or wouldnt normally try out. now i actually have to decide what i want.
