I don't have a last.fm but I do remember most of what I listened to:

Traffic - Low Spark of...etc
Amon Düül II - Yeti
Curtis Mayfield - Super Fly
T. Rex - Electric Warrior
Jimi Hendrix - Raw Blues
raw blues? what's that?

temporary 02-27-2006 03:08 PM
raw blues? what's that?
Yeah, I've never heard of that. Is it a bootleg or someting?

I can't get the last.fm program to work on my computer, I wish I could get it to (I think its cause I have a Mac.)

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-27-2006 03:14 PM

The Itunes plugin is a peice of ****, it hates my computer.

robo2448 02-27-2006 05:40 PM

Last.fm isn't working for me too well right now. It says I have 18 songs queued for submission. Which means it hasn't tracked the last 18 songs I've listened to, but once the plugin successfully connects with the server everything will be tracked. I'm starting to wonder if it's ever going to connect though.

The Koray bootleg is pretty bad quality, but give it a break, it's a bootleg. What do you expect? Despite the quality, the playing is good and pretty interesting. I haven't downloaded the studio album yet though because I'm lazy.

I just found out that I'm going to see Queen when they're comming through D.C., but I don't know much about Paul Rogers, the singer who is replacing Freddie for the tour. Do any of you guys know anything bout him?

PinkFreud 02-27-2006 05:56 PM

he sang for free and bad company. i have the live cd queen and paul rodgers put out and he sounds pretty good.

He was in Bad Company and Free. You've probably heard him on the radio before on songs like "Alright Now", "Bad Company", and "Feel Like Makin' Love."

They're coming here, but I'm not going. Tickets are probably sold out anyway.

Yeah, I've heard those songs. I don't know how good a choice he is for Freddie's replacement, but I guess I'll find out, huh?

PinkFreud 02-27-2006 06:01 PM

he sounds pretty good. he doesn't have the range or power but he fits the songs as well as he can.

I remember when they played Feel Like Makin' Love on The Simpsons. "It's my tribute to Princess Di."
I heard an awesome Bob Dylan song today that I've never heard before, but I didn't hear the name of it. It was a classic folky Dylan war protest song, but I don't really remember much of the lyrics. The ending was something about "watching you until you're lowered into your grave..." or something like that. Someone help!! I really want to download this song!!:(
I know it's been said what the title is, but I must say Masters Of War is amazing. He sounds so furious.

I loves me some hot pockets. Mmm.

:tasty:

Bob Dylan is one of my favorite songwriters ever. Most of his songs just make sense.

Krabsworth 02-27-2006 06:56 PM

Hey there is going to be a good show on PBS at 8 tonight.

I've never actually wanted to eat a Hot Pocket. I've only eaten one when I've found it was basically my last resort.

All that's on my PBS is Antique's Roadshow.

You're missing out.

JonG 02-27-2006 07:32 PM

Krabs, are you talking about the Paul McCartney thing?

Woodstock 02-27-2006 07:48 PM

The Paul McCartney thing is on at 10pm Eastern I think. It looks great.

And the Raw Blues album is a huge bootleg album of unreleased Hendrix performances. It correlates to the Blues album. It's great, though. There are some half-hour long jams.

sounds cool.

what is this paul mccartney thing?

pigonthewing82 02-27-2006 07:53 PM

I went to Disney with my family this vacation, it was alright I'm not a big Disney person but I'm from CT so it was nice to be warm.

My highlight was going to the Virgin megastore I got

Live Cream vol 2
The Who - The Kids Are Allright (soundtrack)
Eric Clapton - 24 nights
Santana - Live at the filmore
Ramones - Leave Home.

They are all great albums, though I think my favorite is the Kids Are Allright soundtrack.

BigTrav415 02-27-2006 07:58 PM

Of all people to get the 58,000th post, it was a 34-postcounter  Good job man.

Ugh, I will try to make this my last post of the night and hopefully tomorrow too. I have a crapload of homework, basically I have to go back and add parenthetical citations to my entire WC paper from my sources because my teacher just reminded us we need to (no one else has either), and I also need to add more myths, correct it grammar and format wise, and make a poster all by Wednesday :( That's pretty much it though... although I just realized I either left my main school notebook at school or in my friend's mom's car. It sucks being involuntarily disorganized and forgetful and stuff :(

That Bad Company singer has a good "rawk" voice, I think he'd make a good Mercury as long as he could hit the high notes well enough.

Broken Arrow 02-27-2006 08:01 PM

Yeah Paul Rodgers performed at a festival I went to, he was okay but he was a cocky prick.

Woodstock 02-27-2006 08:02 PM

He has a mini performance and explanation of Beatles songs at a private concert at Abbey Road Studios.

I spent most of my vacation in CT looking at colleges. It was cold. Not too bad though. As for your purchases, The Kids Are Alright is awesome. So is Live Cream Vol. 2. Not too much jamming, but Clapton's playing on Steppin' Out is just amazing. Sunshine Of Your Love is awesome on that too. I love when they just go into a nuts jam in the last minute and half of Sunshine. How's 24 Nights? I've been meaning to check that out.

That Paul thing sounds sweet.

I like Paul Rodgers voice. Not really anything like Mercury's and he can't replace Mercury, but I've heard that he does a good job.

What's so specail about the 5800 post anyway?

He has a fantastic voice, but he's no where near as good as mercury.

Nothing really, just 2,000 posts till bye-bye old thread :( It's like a new millenium or something. Ragnarokk approaches! Heimdall, sound your mighty trumpet! The cock of Hel crows! Gather the human forces of Valhalla! We shall fight to the end!

Man, Norse mythology is really getting to me...

EDIT: I forgot it censors out cock, even if you mean the other one.

Yeah CT isn't bad in that during some parts of the year it looks nice, but it starts to kind of suck after awhile. Its a pretty boring state. Yeah for the Cream album I love that last minute and a half durning Sunshine thats my favorite recording. 24 Nights is a good album. There are some songs on it that are done really well. I love Wonderful Tonight off it just because I've never really been much of a fan of it till I heard it on this cd. The jam in Sunshine of Your Love is good. Old love is another really good jam. I would pick it up if. Maybe not before the Rainbow Concert or any of the Live Cream cds, but its one I think every fan should have.

Hey guys, Im into classic rock and dont like any of the stuff out there today. I have downloaded every zeppelin, floyd, beatles album and I have some queen, jimi hendrix and rush albums. I need some more classic rock. Can anyone suggest some albums or songs in the classic rock genre, since those bands above obviously dont have any new albums coming out(maybe rush?). Thanks!

First off: Don't read the first post. Read what we've been talking about and try to fit in. I could list off a ton of bands, but I don't want to.

Glitterati 02-27-2006 08:40 PM

That's too bad, actually. There's some great modern stuff out there.

But seriously, check out The Who.

Ya, I forgot to mention them. And sorry I didnt feel like reading the whole 100 pages to fit in, just wanted some more music to listen to. And Im not into all the emo, screamo stuff out there today. I know theres good modern bands out there but I prefer classic rock.

jpj 02-27-2006 08:53 PM

No one would expect you to read the entire thread, just a few posts before yours.

rockinbass17 02-27-2006 08:55 PM

I've just recieved word of a program on TV at 10, PBS maybe, about the almighty Paul McCartney. Anyone know of this?

Edit: Okay, well I'm off to find it.

robo2448 02-27-2006 09:28 PM

This reworked version of Lady Madonna Paul just did was pretty interesting. I think I prefer the original, but him changing it around like that was pretty cool.

PinkFreud 02-27-2006 10:00 PM

gah! i missed lady madonna. saw the last bits though. good stuff. god i need to see him next time he tours.

rockinbass17 02-27-2006 10:09 PM

I really liked all the performances of the songs that he said were newer material, I might just go get the new album now.
