We had an Andy Griffith Show marathon at my house. Freud, I was waiting for a smart ass comment like that. ;) |

Don Knotts |
Don Knotts
Actually Barney Fife played Don Knotts but in real life. You have it backwards.:thumb: |
I've been on a bit of a Stones kick lately, I think Jac is starting to rub off on me.
:naughty: Good call! You can't go wrong with the Stones. Any particular album you've been liking lately? I've been on a Beggars Banquet run myself lately that and A Bigger Bang.
the "ewwww" was towards the "jacaranda's rubbing off on me" comment.
Jealousy sets in. |
Don Knotts
duh |
Any particular album you've been liking lately?
Well, all I have is Exile On Main Street and a bunch of downloaded songs. I need more of their albums. |
Jac, pick one alt and stick with it. Jesus tap-dancing Christ.
The Andy Griffifth Show is one of my favorite old-school shows. I've been to the town it's based on (Andy Griffith's hometown) when I went to Scout summer camp three times, it's really cool. The house he grew up in is still there, and you can stay there. They also have a museum about the him and the show, it was cool. |
soon i need to start laying off all of the mail trades, ive dug myself a ditch.
i owe about 15 discs to people, postage aint cheap for all of that, especially when your broke. |
Jealousy sets in.
yeah. thats just what i want. a guy so pale that he could put an albino to shame rubbing off on me. haha. JK |
Oh, that's real cool, make fun of pale people.
Trav, my mom brings that up every time we're planning a vacation. |
Well, all I have is Exile On Main Street and a bunch of downloaded songs. I need more of their albums.
Everything from Beggar's Banquet through Exile on Main Street is gold. That's Beggar's, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile. I'd highly recommend all those. Probably get Sticky Fingers first. np: Amon Duul- song with a really long title I don't feel like typing out This Amon Duul stuff is crazy. I don't know if I like it or not yet. Krautrock's not really my thing. This song is pretty nuts though, sometimes I'm thinking it's really good and sometimes I'm thinking it's just unlistenable. |
Well, all I have is Exile On Main Street and a bunch of downloaded songs. I need more of their albums.
If you have AIM I'll be more then happy to send you 20 albums, if it comes to that. :)
yeah. thats just what i want. a guy so pale that he could put an albino to shame rubbing off on me. haha. JK
Its funny cause its true :upset: Hey atleast I can see when I smile. |
That's how I felt about the Amon Duul album that Woodstock sent out. Some of it is gold then at other times it sucks.
|
I don't know if the Talking Heads count as CR but I've been listening to them a lot lately.
|
Don Knotts
He was from here (West Virginia.) We talked about him in 8th grade when we were discussing distinguished West Virginians in WV History. The book also mentioned Bobcat Goldthwait (the guy from Police Academy who talks funny.)
np: Erkin Koray- Mesafeler 2
I'm glad to see you listening to that, did you download the studio album I sent out?
I don't know if the Talking Heads count as CR but I've been listening to them a lot lately.
I think they could be considered classic rock. I like them a lot, but all I have is a live album. Stop Making Sense I think it is. About the ceiling thing: I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with drugs, just an optical illusion type thing. I used to stare at the carpet in Pizza Hut and it had the same effect. |
If you have AIM I'll be more then happy to send you 20 albums, if it comes to that.
20 albums would take about 4 days on my internet connection. Thanks though. Robo, I'll probably get Sticky Fingers next. |

oooh. ice burn. you better hope you don't need me to edit anything anymore! i might be going to bonnaroo this summer. we shall see! |
6 The Norman Haines Band 12
What did you think of them? Bonaroo would be sweet. jpj, I haven't downloaded the studio album you sent you, but the live stuff was pretty good. The quality wasn't great, but the guitarwork was excellent. Pretty good stuff. I just remembered a really cool dream I had last night. I don't know why I'm remembering it like 15 hours later, but it was an awesome dream. I was at a show of Steve Winwood and Cream who were touring together. Each of them did their own really sweet jam-filled set and then at the end they played together and jammed for a long time. It was like a Blind Faith reunion with Jack Bruce replacing Grech. What an awesome dream. If only dreams like that could come true... |
Led Zep, Talking Heads are definitely good. I haven't heard all of them, of course, but I'd say Remain In Light is their best work.

I liked it, and I hear Jenny Lewis covers the Traveling Wilbury's Handle With Care on her new album, which hopefully is good. |
I should get Last Fm. It'd be all Miles Davis anyway, I don't listen to music on my computer much.
|
The only benefit of last.fm is to annoy the hell out of people by posting your top 10 artists of the week for no good reason at all.
|
Well I find it interesting, next year I can look back and see what music I liked back in the day.
|
The only benefit of last.fm is to annoy the hell out of people by posting your top 10 artists of the week for no good reason at all.
I agree, it's beggining to get highly annoying.
Jac: Feel free to use it. :)
Did anyone download the Erkin Koray bootleg I sent out? I'm gonna upload the studio album of his too.
Yea, I'm listening to it right now. I haven't found a solid opinion on him yet but one thing I have concluded is he's no Hendrix. The only flaw that I can point out right now is that the recording quality sucks, I hope the studio album is more listenable. NP: Karli daglar/Sir/Silinmeyen hatiralar/Mesafeler 1 ~ Erkin Koray |

i love rilo kiley a lot. very light, happy indie-pop. fun to listen to. and yes, she covers handle me with care with ben gibbard and conor oberst. it's not bad. she's got a great voice and the other two do pretty good. |

I heard an awesome Bob Dylan song today that I've never heard before, but I didn't hear the name of it. It was a classic folky Dylan war protest song, but I don't really remember much of the lyrics. The ending was something about "watching you until you're lowered into your grave..." or something like that. Someone help!! I really want to download this song!!:(
|
My gosh Eminence Front has godly bass.

"Masters of War" (edit: it's been said) "Eminence Front" is a cool song by The Who. I don't really remember the bass though, I'll check it out again later. |
It's really awesome in the chorus, Entwistle basically carries that part. In the verse he doesn't do very much if I remember. But either way, Eminence Front is a great song.
|
yeah. my favorite post-moon songs. entwistle always does a great job though.
|
Regarding Talking Heads:
Definantly buy Remain In Light. |
I don't have a last.fm but I do remember most of what I listened to:
Traffic - Low Spark of...etc Amon Düül II - Yeti Curtis Mayfield - Super Fly T. Rex - Electric Warrior Jimi Hendrix - Raw Blues |

Yea, well it's a bootleg that was probably recorded by some Turk that was high off his ass. The quality of the studio album is fine. |
