ringworm 11-09-2006 03:39 PM

cool purchase

smoke>beer

did anybody that got Stick Control from Win A Rabbit (the thread that got closed) also get a very disturbing pic in another email?

Janeway 11-09-2006 03:40 PM

My quartet sucks.

Seriously. We're playing When I'm Sixty-Four. It's a lovely song, and it's really not that hard. Everyone has heard the song 400,000 times. They know how it goes. I'm the leader. I play strong, keep good time, and do everything that a good leader should.
But can anybody play it but me? Nooope.

Corkofski 11-09-2006 04:02 PM

hmm, do ya reckon if i fire off a letter to premier about their ****ty mounting system and how much it sucks and damages my drums, they will give me freebies?

and will a letter work better than an email?

Lem0n 11-09-2006 04:33 PM

letter will be better.

it'll look like youve made an effort to write and send the letter where as an email would just take you like 2 mins to write and send along with the thousands of other emails they probaly receive.

wow that didn't make mcuh sense.

Loser 11-09-2006 04:33 PM

If their stuff is so bad, why would you want freebies?

Lem0n 11-09-2006 04:35 PM
If their stuff is so bad, why would you want freebies?
because the great thing about freebies is that they are free:thumb:

Corkofski 11-09-2006 04:46 PM

Lem0n has it, and its only the tom clamps that suck.

however, the clamps on the Spirit of Lily kit pwn.

i want them

maniac0796 11-09-2006 04:49 PM

Do the artist, cabria, and series all have different mounts?

I've been learning how to use photoshop for stuff other than web design...

Look at the crappy cherry i made!

It's pretty bad, but for a first go, i think it's quality!

I need to put a stalk and a a shadow in still, but they're a bit more complicated..

Corkofski 11-09-2006 04:55 PM

cabria has a POS mount, dunno about the artist

these guys got pwnd at my school today,

they were engaged in illegal activities, which i dont know details of.

police were called, and they resisted, and got pepper sprayed in the middle of our packed common room :/

pwnd

Aaron 11-09-2006 05:09 PM

haha awesome

Aaron 11-09-2006 05:43 PM

I'm thinking of going to a no-rack tom setup and putting a set of hi-hats in there on a remote pedal. I'd probably go 14" Hi-Hat over a 12" China. Reckon it's a good idea?

LoneStarDrummer 11-09-2006 05:48 PM

no. there are better options for placing remote hats don't require eliminating rack toms from a set up

the hat combo may sound nice though, i just wouldn't take away rack toms in order to accommodate it.

TTTSNB 11-09-2006 05:49 PM

Nooo. Just because then it would make tom usage awkward.

Jezen 11-09-2006 05:54 PM

You like mounted toms. Gavin Harrison is your reason why.

Aaron 11-09-2006 05:54 PM

I hardly use toms so it seemed like a good idea. Most of my fills are snare to floor tom combos with kicking patterns.. Jazz=minimalist.

LoneStarDrummer 11-09-2006 05:56 PM

gavin definitely knows how to incorporate toms into fills

Aaron 11-09-2006 06:04 PM

So does Joey.

LoneStarDrummer 11-09-2006 06:05 PM

joey who? joey 1? lol

Aaron 11-09-2006 06:07 PM

joey jordinson of slipknot fame.

LoneStarDrummer 11-09-2006 06:09 PM

i disagree, but either way you should keep your floor toms and maybe even get yourself some more.

i say about 9 to 13 rack toms of random sizes should suite your style.

edit: sorry to kill your thread about style, but it's too dificult to give an actual answer

Jezen 11-09-2006 06:10 PM
;13599661']joey who? joey 1? lol

Ur mums bum is pretty seareus.
Your mum is jealous of Aaron's mum's serious bum.

LoneStarDrummer 11-09-2006 06:26 PM

Corkofski 11-09-2006 06:28 PM

but your bum lives in mine, cos mine rules soo much

The Chemist 11-09-2006 06:30 PM

whats all this about bums?

sodomising sunday isn't for, uh... 3 days

Aaron 11-09-2006 06:30 PM

What do you think of this setup nubs:
20x17 Bass
10x14 Snare
6.5x14 Snare
14x14 Floor Tom
16x16 Floor Tom

13" K Top over 12" Wuhan China in front in rack-tom space
13" K/Zs as main Hats
22" K Heavy Ride
20" HHX Ozone Ride
16" K Custom Special Dry Crash
16" HHX Power Crash
8/10/12" Wuhan Traditional Splashes
19" Wuhan China

LoneStarDrummer 11-09-2006 06:33 PM

i don't know, i'm a fan of having rack toms. i like them right in front of me so i can transition from snare to rack tom easily, so it just seems a little arkward for me personally.

FL3P 11-09-2006 06:33 PM

I used the 13" K/Zs for quite a while and they were great.

Jezen 11-09-2006 06:34 PM

Change 10x14 snare to 3x14 (assuming this is your aux).

I'm not a fan of the K Heavy Ride. Doesn't sing as much as I would like.

Other than that, fine.

Aaron 11-09-2006 06:35 PM

I already have a 10x14 as my main snare Jez and own the K Heavy. I own most of those cymbals [excl. a 13" K Top, the Ozone Ride and 19" Wuhan].
