Easy schedule'd

PinkFreud 02-23-2006 08:41 PM

pretty much. except structures of modern english. that gets kind of difficult. not really though.

Against Miik! 02-23-2006 08:49 PM

What is that? Like a grammar class?

edit: So the other day I said that if I hear "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt again i'd kill myself. Today, I found out he actually has a halfway decent song called "Wisemen"

RockAndRoll 02-23-2006 09:02 PM

Stupid GPA's and whatnot. we don't have those here.

My schedule is

gr 11 Ancient civilisations (in french)
gr 11 World religions
gr 11 English
gr 12 Calculus

I don't know what my IQ is but I'm gifted if that counts for anything other stupid meetings a few times a year. I do pwn at life though, everybody hates me for doing no work and still coming out on top :p.

Edit: and what is a "GATE" kid?

I love it. It's great because I'm Italian too. :)

We offer

Spanish
French
German
Italian
Latin

Gifted and Talented Education. It's a program in the US to make smart kids smarter. It doesn't, really, just is pretty useless.

That's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard.

Here you can take:

Spanish
French
German
Russian
Latin
Italian
Japanese

robo2448 02-23-2006 09:27 PM

Yeah I've never heard of GATE either. We have a pretty crappy language department:

Latin
Spanish
French

I take Latin and my teacher is incredibly cool. It's so easy. We don't do any work. It's a fun class.

np: Canned Heat- Rollin' and Tumblin' (Live)

Canned Heat are awesome.

JonG 02-23-2006 09:28 PM

Indeed, they are. I've been listening to them for awhile on vinyl and such.

My dad had lots of their vinyls, then at a concert he played pool with them.

Whooped their ass too.

Ya, we have programs like that. I hate them, despite pretending like they'll do something they never actually do. They fail at doing anything useful.

Playing pool with Canned Heat would own. Canned Heat were an awesome live band. They owned at Woodstock and this compilation has 3 songs from Monterey that are awesome too. It's really cool that all the members were record collectors and worked in a record shop before they started the band. They've got a good appreciation of blues. I like how in the liner notes the drummer says all they did back then was jam with John Lee Hooker, listen to records, and smoke pot. That's the life right there.
I just bought The Very Best of Canned Heat and Red Hot Chili Peppers- Mother's Milk. The Canned Heat is awesome. These guys own. Haven't listened to the RHCP yet.

I saw Medeski, Martin, and Wood last night in Danbury, CT. It was pretty sweet. It was in a tiny venue, kind of like a small bar, but there was no age restrictions. I was about 5 feet from the stage. They're nuts. Medeski is up there with Emerson or Winwood in terms of organ playing. And Martin is a pretty interesting drummer to watch, he uses so many wierd percussion stuff that I won't even try to describe. And Wood plays an upright bass:cool: and keeps it all together.

np: Canned Heat- Rockin' With the King

I have around a 90 average.
I haven't heard Mother's Milk, but I know it has Higher Ground which is an amazing song.
everyone thinks that im smart because im asian.

A lot of people think I'm school-smart because I wear glasses and have an encyclopedic knowledge of music and cinema. Little do they know when it comes to stuff like math, I r teh suk.\

I take
Spare Block
Communications
Study Block
Guitar
Graphics (photography n' stuff)
Science & Tech
Drawing & Painting
Carpentry (I'm building a house! Go me!)

Watched Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 in the last two days, really liked them. I think I liked volume 1 better...

My brother was in gate, then we moved and I was in the same type of program, something called Revolving Door. Easiest damn thing I ever did.

thickasabrick 02-23-2006 11:54 PM

I could probably get into one of those genius schools...do they require much effort? On the Simpsons it didn't look hard when Bart was in one.

I'm superman.

Wow I would've never pictured you being asian..

I tried using an HMV gift card that I found at work a week ago, today. I asked the guy how much money it had on it...63 cents. I laughed and asked him to throw it out.

But of course I couldn't leave without buying something:

Pink Floyd- The Wall (now i've got it on vinyl and cd)
Zep- 1
Neil Young- On the Beach

Why thank you. The only Zep album I'm missing now is Physical Graffiti, and I'd been putting off buying On the Beach until I found it for a cheaper price, but I couldn't wait any longer.

Ulysses 02-24-2006 03:33 AM

I know its not exactly mainstream classic rock as such but has anyone got The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus and if so is it good, I've seen a few reviews and they seem to be fond of it.

Good lyrics. Gram was a great writer.

Broken Arrow 02-24-2006 07:57 AM

It's amazing. Definetly buy it if you have the chance, I've only seen it for sale once and I grabbed it first chance. Lunch introduced them to us.(Well atleast me)

After 12 Dreams buy their Self Titled album.

robo2448 02-24-2006 10:22 AM

Yeah Spirit is great. Definitely get 12 Dreams if you can. It's a really great album.

I prefer The Family That Plays Together to s/t though. But yeah, 12 Dreams is the best and the one to get first.

Physical Graffiti is awesome, Although IMO disc 2 is better than disc 1, bar ´Trampled Underfoot´.

I need Prescence, Led Zep I and Coda, to finish off the collection.

Anybody want me to send some stuff out?

robo2448 02-24-2006 12:19 PM

Too bad the archives aren't back, but he's posting more great stuff. He's got an album by the Rockets up there, who later became Crazy Horse. I might download that later.

My dad had it on CD and awhile back I decided to listen to it. Since then it's become one of my favorite psychedelic albums. I whored Spirit out pretty well around here so most people have a couple of their albums now.

I've been a Neil Young fan for ages, and I just listened to On The Beach last night. It's really awesome, especially side 2.

Has anybody heart An American Prayer by The Doors? It's suprisingly good.
Has anybody heart An American Prayer by The Doors? It's suprisingly good
Yea, but only a few times, but what I've heard I really like. Then again I like the doors a lot, so I'm prone to like it.

Led-ZeppelinIV 02-24-2006 03:34 PM

Yeah. Did you check out that studio version of Celebration of the Lizard on Legacy?

JonG 02-24-2006 03:39 PM

I run into Charlie Fog,
Blacked my eye and he kicked my dog,
My doggie turned to me and he said,
Let's head back to Tennessee Jed.
I woke up a feelin' mean,
Went down to play the slot machine,
The wheels turned around, and the letters read,
You better head back to Tennessee Jed.

Nobody ever wants me to send anything out :x

morrison357 02-24-2006 03:56 PM
Yeah. Did you check out that studio version of Celebration of the Lizard on Legacy?
ya, man that was pretty sweet. I should probably pick up that album. Next time I'm at the record store

Krabsworth 02-24-2006 04:02 PM

I was watching this show on TLC where they have like a rock n roll camp type of thing, and these people have to get together and learn a song and then play it with Roger Daltrey. Daltrey was so awesome, this drummer was doing horrible and Daltrey was like,"Do you have a tempo box?", and it was so awesome.

Led-ZeppelinIV 02-24-2006 04:25 PM

I downloaded this torrent of 9 heavy psychedelic blues albums, but I only wanted one of them, Aurora by Stained Glass. I'm starting to listen to the other ones now, so far it's pretty good. The others are:
Shiver-San Fransico's Shiver
Suck-Time to Suck
The Adventures of Robert Savage Vol. 1
The Collectors-Grass and Wild Strawberries
The Electronic Hole-The Electronic Hole
The Flow-Greatest Hits
The Human Instinct-Stoned Guitar
The Insect Trust-Hoboken Saturday Night

morrison357 02-24-2006 06:13 PM

Did anyone download the zeppelin bootleg from the chrisgoesrock site yet? and if so, is it any good?

BigTrav415 02-24-2006 06:55 PM

Zep bootleg thou sayeth?

/runs to site like a fanboy on crack
