I like dishing out more money on sound equipment than instrments.

My eden makes an MIM fender sound like a modded MIA, but my behringer made an urge bass sound like...well...not even a bass.
Have you played one? Because they get horrible reviews.

yes i have, i loved it :)

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:47 PM

Did I ever mention how unfair it is that Soup got an urge?

Cool, from what I have read about them if you are going to buy one, play the one that you buy.

When did this happen? I haven't seen him around here in a long time.

About two weeks ago, thats why he gave me a good deal on the fretless.

He didn't tell me the music shop had it, infact refused to tell me what he was buying with the money because he knew Id snag an urge for $600 in a heart beat.

Nice, tell him to drop by and show it to all of us. I never realized that you got your fender from him.

Pictures? Take it to someone that does repairs, they should be able to fix it. But if it is a cheep bass then it might not be worth it as it could cost a lot. If I were to charge for putting a headstock back on a bass I would charge between $100 and $200. What kind of bass is it?

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:54 PM

If its an ibanez, just buy a new bass.

Depends on the bass, if it is a nice old musician or something like that it is worth fixing. Basically if it was made in japan it is worth fixing.

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:57 PM

I went to try out guitars and every ibanez guitar I played between $200 and $1200 played and sounded EXACTLY the same...

Left Shoe 11-02-2006 03:57 PM

ibanez yech

Their guitars are all the same, unless it is the vai sig. I dig the prestige models and the "vintage" stuff. Anyone know if Ibanez ever made a headless bass?

The only peices of gear Im actually sure about are my Ovation and Eden.

How many basses, and what are they?

Soup borrowed my amp for a gig, he used the urge, the eden through my avatar, and an EHX english muffin. Do you have any idea how sexy it sounded?

I have three basses.

1993 Washburn six string
1985 Ibanez Musician
???? Epiphone bass that I modded and is also now fretless.

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 04:13 PM

Ah

I think I might trade my fretless in eventually once I laern to play it better. Im trying to sell my Ibanez now.

vintage iabenz =/= modern ibanez in build quality or sound. So called vintage ibanez's are some of the best built basses ever (if they are from japan). Some even compare the build quality to alembic. Not that I am trying to get rid of my musician anymore, I love it.

I'm looking to get an electric guitar and 4 string bass now. After that its a guitar rig and getting rid of my avatar cab.

The Brad 11-02-2006 04:19 PM

You throw it out there like Japan is a terrible company. :p
You throw it out there like Japan is a terrible company. :p
What I am saying is that the Ibanez basses made in japan are much much better than the ones that are made in other places.

Jody: I am going to say that you either want a hollow body guitar or a strat for the music that you play.

There is this new dude that got hired 2 days ago, well one guy at the restaurant I work at gave him the nick name "The Malaysian Rapist."

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 04:24 PM

I don't know much about electric guitars, I've ALWAYS been an acoustic guy.

I just want to play my cards right because this is alot of money Im tossing around at this point in time.

The Brad 11-02-2006 04:24 PM

The Brad 11-02-2006 04:29 PM

No, that was Asia.

Very true, I wish that I had money to toss around to get the rig that I want and the bass. Then I would be done.

Brad: I knew what you meant.

Well I have rent/food/phone/internet and that is about $490 a month, then I had to pay for school which was $5200. So I am out a lot of money right now, good thing that my school keeps giving me money. I just picked up a $2300 cheque yesterday and I get a $4000ish one in january. Too bad that has to pay for rent and food.

Link to edges band please.

I decided to save my money so I wouldn't go as far into debt. I have good basses, just not that great of an amp. I am going to get a job come february so I have a bit of spending money.
