haha i think i'm selling my cards to a friend

i went from radeon 9800 pro to 6600GT to 7600GT and i'm waiting for my 7900GT right now

Yashnaheen 07-01-2006 05:19 PM

Thats quite an interesting ratio you used there Atman...

Amit 07-01-2006 05:20 PM

i use a 1600 x 1200 19" crt and a 1680 x 1050 20.1" widescreen LCD

once you play on widescreen, 4:3 is lame

Ezekiel 07-01-2006 05:20 PM

What processor are you using, Eggo?

(watch it turn out to be an AMD 64 or something)

Amit 07-01-2006 05:21 PM

amd 64 3200+ running stock speeds i don't really see the need to spend more than $100-120 on a processor

ram, video card, and hard drive matter a lot more to me

Chaz S 07-01-2006 05:22 PM
Ummmm, you wouldn't mind lending me that graphics card, would you?

*hides swag bag*

Dammit Eggo, you have a damn sweet graphics card. At the mo, I've got an Radeon 9600SE. Far from the best, but it strangely handled Half Life 2 quite well.....

Still, I want an nVidia. They completely pwn ATI.
nVidia graphics card = fuxs up ur comp++

Amit 07-01-2006 05:23 PM

really that's very interesting because my system is rock solid

Ezekiel 07-01-2006 05:23 PM

True.

There's a computer market fairly near me, fortunatly, last time I was building a PC i nabbed a 160 gig HDD for about £50 :D

The main reason I really want an nVidia card is that I've got these stereovision glasses w/ appropriate program. Thing is, they work great on nVidia but my old nVidia was rubbish (GeForce 2 or something, dead old) and they barely work on ATI because their software only just supports them.

Tell you what though, it looked so pwn on HL playing it in 3D :D

Amit 07-01-2006 05:24 PM

nice

i almost got 2 160 gb hard drives for $30 each but newegg wussied out on me >:[

Chaz S 07-01-2006 05:25 PM

I had a nVidia Graphics card on my old computer, and it screwed up just about every program.

Hence the new computer.

My mate just got an 8300GT. Freakin sweet I tell you now.

Amit 07-01-2006 05:27 PM

err yeah my latest nvidia system build has been running continuously (powering two monitors as well) for about 6 months now with absolutely no problems

but that's just my experience
My mate just got an 8300GT. Freakin sweet I tell you now.
hmm i could never justify spending more than $170-200 on a video card

terrible waste of money after that

overturned 07-01-2006 05:28 PM

I supose it depends on how much you'll really benefit from it

Amit 07-01-2006 05:30 PM

well i mean by the time dx10 comes out everyone's current cards will be pretty much worthless

from the people who paid $150 to the poor suckers who paid $700+

but hey if someone's got that much more money than brains all the better for their experience (and nvidia's quarterly reports)

superjoe 2.0 07-01-2006 05:45 PM
Oh, yeah, nice one.
Throwing insults at me is going to improve your position.

You're usually a good poster, so why don't you just neck up and take it without whinging.

Everyone knows the rules in this thread, lots of people have been banned for breaking them. You should be proud that you've gotten this far and only been banned once.
1) Im not insulting you, im insulting your actions.

2)If you consider me a good poster, why would it be nessecary to ban for that? A simple "hey joe, dont do that" would have been sufficient.

3)Proud? What did I do that should deserve another ban?

I did my part to not act like an idiot and spam for the multiple years Ive had this account, and I say Hi and this is the thanks I get? Jesus, you act like Im Jamie.
if i were to get any console i'd get the wii

computer >>> xbox 360 or ps3
But then again, it doesn't hurt to have all 4.

Ezekiel 07-01-2006 05:59 PM

Hurts the wallet a fair bit though.

How's it going, josh?

JoshTheSequel....3 07-01-2006 06:01 PM

Pretty well actually

Just finshed dinner, which was wonderful

Chicken tikka masala + saffron rice + flat bread = omg

Now I'm unwinding to some Pat Metheny before I go play some video games :D

Yourself?

Ezekiel 07-01-2006 06:03 PM

Too bloody hot - it's absolutely boiling in my room, and I'm trying to get some finger independance exercises done and it's just damn frustrating. Still, I had some cheese so I feel a bit better.

Cheese is pwn.

JoshTheSequel....3 07-01-2006 06:04 PM

What kind of cheese?

Ezekiel 07-01-2006 06:05 PM

Cathederal City Cheddar!

JoshTheSequel....3 07-01-2006 06:06 PM

Gah, cheddar is great, I just wish its melting consistancy was a little better.

Country Doctor 07-01-2006 06:07 PM

Cheddar and Branston pickle sandwiches are amazing. Now I think of it, I really want one now.

Ezekiel 07-01-2006 06:08 PM

Hehehe, it's practically the only cheese I eat. Red Leicster (or however the fuck) you spell it jsut tastes of nothing, and It's orange. Cheese SHOULDN'T be orange, I'm sure.

Edam tastes a bit weird, and anything past that, strength wise is just way too nasty.

Oh how I love the community thread - topics include;

Guitar Gear
Computers
Games Consoles
CHEESE!

JoshTheSequel....3 07-01-2006 06:08 PM

Oh man, http://www.half.com is the best place to buy games ftw

Koss 07-01-2006 06:09 PM

Just had a double glousceter (sp?) sandwich. Fit as.

Also, can't beat a nice bit of brie.

Country Doctor 07-01-2006 06:13 PM
Also, can't beat a nice bit of brie.
Terrible stuff.

I've really been into these or a LTD Viper 7, but this'd cost £75 to have sent to England. :upset:

Ezekiel 07-01-2006 06:18 PM

Right, I'm off to go play Eternal Darkness.

Back later, possibly.

JoshTheSequel....3 07-01-2006 06:20 PM

I'm off to play Oblivion

Abu-Abu 07-01-2006 06:38 PM

I need input quick...I;m planning on making a project guitar, my friend is painting it, but I'm really stuck, I was just looking at bodies, and project guitars that are CHEAP on eBay, and I'm stuck.

Guitar #1 - Jackson Soloist
Pros: Comes with neck and body cheap, missing tons of stuff but that is sorta the point of a project guitar
Cons: No bridge, No pickups (I have some right next to me I'd put in though), no wiring at all, basically completely stripped down

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&item=150001662104&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Guitar #2 - Ibanez RG470 Body

Pros - cheap body, full wiring, pickups
Cons - no neck, no bridge, will be more expensive

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&item=140002159877&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

OR keep looking for a while...

doublepost0rz 07-01-2006 06:44 PM

****ing soloist man.

Abu-Abu 07-01-2006 06:47 PM
****ing soloist man.
Yeah that's what I was thinking, hopefully I will win and no one from here bids (bastards).

I'll have to find a bridge though, fully wire it, all hardware, tuners, and more probably that I just can't think of. But isn't that what a project guitar is all about?

I wish he didn't carve those horns though, makes it a lot more ugly, hah.

Miek 07-01-2006 06:53 PM

I'm making something along the lines of a ESP KH1
Gibson style V
Floyd
ebony fretboard
cross inlays, the whole deal, you know

Me! 07-01-2006 06:53 PM

That's no soloist.

Soloists are neckthru only I'm pretty sure.

Daniel K 07-01-2006 06:55 PM

Yeah, soloist's are neckthru

Me! 07-01-2006 06:58 PM

Yay I'm right for once.

People try to pass those fancy-painted dinkys for soloists a lot.

Abu-Abu 07-01-2006 07:01 PM

Well, should I still go for it? I'm just making it a project guitar...and it's cheap

I'm going to, **** it

7 skrang 07-01-2006 07:02 PM

that body shape isn't even a jackson...

Abu-Abu 07-01-2006 07:03 PM

you guys make me nervous...1 minute left...

I just let it pass when I bid at $35 and it kept going up from maximum bid ****, to $52, and the time was about to be over I said **** it.

Whether or not it's a Soloist it was cheap though,

Me! 07-01-2006 07:04 PM

I wouldn't. It's sketchy as to what guitar it was actually from. And I wouldn't go for the Ibanez either. I'd at least try to get a Japanese body with an Edge already in it. You can stick an OFR in a 470 though.
