Sabbath Rocks.
Sabbath-Heavan and Hell
Ozzy-Crazy train

RUSHFAN1990 12-30-2005 12:26 PM

Black Sabbath is one of the greatest bands ever. Though without ozzy, they werent nearly as good. The only good dio album is heaven and hell. The best albums with oxxy are paranoid, volume 4, and master of reality.
Also if you really like sabbath check out the music dvd "The Last Super". IT is from the reunion tour and it is really good.

classicrockman 12-30-2005 12:27 PM
When i first got Sabotage all i wanted off of it was Megalomania, but most of the album has grown on me

am i the only one that thinks Supertzar is a waste of a song? its a great song but it could have been so much more with lyrics and singing rather than just that choir thing they had on it
"Symptom of the Universe" is quite possibly one of the heaviest riffs I've ever heard.

Ladyshredder126 12-30-2005 02:09 PM

wesrdftgyhui

i have pantera playin paranoid its sick :thumb:

the year when metallica was goin w/ the ozzfest ozzy comes backstage and the guys were playin the sabbath classics. ozzys like cmon dudes stop messin with my head and theyre like no way ozzy, this stuff is the s***
i have in the ozzy guitar legends magazine that until that moment, ozzy had no idea what impact sabbath had on the world

Ladyshredder126 12-30-2005 02:15 PM

the only sab-dio songs i know are heaven and hell (kinda hard to get into at first but not bad) and master of insanity (one of my favorites)!! so i cant really judge from one awesome song and one just-good-not-great song but it seems to me like the dio songs arent even comparably as classic as the ozzy stuff

the ozzy stuff i have is just the best ever -paranoid, sabotage, master of reality, black sabbath, and vol 4

HarDrOcker 12-30-2005 02:44 PM
I like 'War Pigs' a lot. The more I've listened to Black Sabbath lately, I've noticed that they sound a lot like Led Zeppelin. Has anyone ever noticed that or am I crazy?

Monti
i dont think u crazy sometimes they do

rippa32 12-31-2005 02:18 AM

Hey Ladyshredder please dont double post i'm pretty sure its agains rules. And about your Pantera remark I actually havn't heard them play Paranoid but I heard them do Planet Caravan which sucked actually, but maybe they do a better job of paranoid. An welcome to the forums. Same to you HarDrOcker but I just gotta tell you it's kinda pointless to reply to the second post in a 190 page long thread.

I heard Pantera do "Cat Scratch Fever" which was pretty good actually.

You should listen to Sympton of the universe from past lives, that is alot heavier than the normal version

And to the guy that said he ahs Pantera doing Paranoid, are you sure its pantera? i have a version that says pantera but its really megadeth

Happy new year everyone

Brew 12-31-2005 01:47 PM

I just heard Heaven and Hell on Planet Rock :D

Makes a change, seeing as they normally play Paranoid, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and occasionally Electric Funeral.

Ladyshredder126 12-31-2005 02:18 PM

thanks rippa32, ill remember that

shadow stalker- its a bootleg so no im not sure if its pantera or megadeth but it sure sounds like anselmo. i agree, symptom sounds a lot heavier on past lives. so does nib- i heard that first on past lives, and it was my favorite track of the album. the first time i heard the studio version i hated it. its good both ways though.

and by the way, im a girl.

n00bguitarist 12-31-2005 02:24 PM

I like Black Sabbath. Favorite song of Black Sabbath is a tie between War Pigs and NIB

shadow_stalker 12-31-2005 05:08 PM
and by the way, im a girl.
Sorry about calling you a dude then, i wasnt paying much attention

blue3 12-31-2005 05:50 PM

I've heard Megadeth's cover of Paranoid. I think it's pretty good.
and by the way, im a girl.
Never would have guessed that.

random dave 12-31-2005 05:55 PM
I've heard Megadeth's cover of Paranoid. I think it's pretty good.
Yeah it is good, my mate thinks its better than the original, but I strongly... scrath that... violently disagree.

blue3 12-31-2005 06:01 PM

Hah. I like the original more too.

barl12388 12-31-2005 06:05 PM

Master of reality is ****ing sick
Paranoid is pretty rad too

rippa32 12-31-2005 07:28 PM

Yes Master Of Reality is quite good. What other albums do you have?

Brew 01-01-2006 12:21 PM

Happy New Year Sabbath-thread :chug:

good im glad u cant tell, because all the other girl rockers i no are either punkwannaberockers, or stuck in the 90s, or groupies. no offense taken.

i just found a type o negative doin paranoid which turns into iron man. its soooooooo bad because theres no solo and they slow it down to like 2mph. lets see, i also have black sabbath doin smoke on the water with ian gillian singing. fyi gillian toured w/ sabbath the year ozzy left b4 they found dio.

im not a big megadeth fan but i think theyre good so im sure they dont butcher paranoid too bad

I love the acoustic change at the end of that song.

It's pretty obvious cause of your username. And I'm guessing you don't know many 'girl rockers' since all you know are the 'punkwannaberockers' or whatever.

ur right i dont no many girl rockers... good old Catholic schools...

i dont think there are many good girl guitar players either- trust me ive researched this one, nobody even compares with like hammet, iommi, rhoads, slash, the youngs, clapton...... etc check this out http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A19175-2004Aug20.html

oh but give me a guitar and a couple more years to get outta school and i will prove them all wrong...

Brew 01-02-2006 03:42 AM
I love the acoustic change at the end of that song.
Its a nice contrast to the heavyness of everything before it.

Its a shame they never played that part live though.

rippa32 01-02-2006 04:41 AM

I don't like it actually. It's kinda growing on me but ill always prefer the live version. And to Ladyshredder Ian Gillan didn't tour before Dio, he was actually Dio's replacement. They did the Born Again album after Bill Ward had come back and then Smoke On The Water was played live on that tour.

oops my bad

Brew 01-02-2006 11:33 AM

Iommi did quite a good job with Smoke on the Water.

rippa32 01-02-2006 07:11 PM

I thought so too. I find his solo to be more interesting than Blackmore's. I reckon hed ruin any other Deep Purple song though, no offence to Iommi but his writing style is very different.

rippa32 01-05-2006 05:52 PM

This thread is dying again. Lets try that thing again where you post some lyrics from a song and then the person to guess the song, posts lyrics for another song and so on and so on. Ill start.

"She wears her leather just to satisfy
She really throws it around
There aint one thing she cant afford to buy
Shes the richest bitch in town."

Brew 01-05-2006 05:53 PM

That was easy.

Digital Bitch :)

I'll have some up in a mo'

Edit:

''The highway's screamin', callin' out your name
Cause every road that you travel on
There's a price to pay
A thousand eyes are starin'
But the blind still lead the blind''

rippa32 01-05-2006 06:02 PM

Feels Good To Me:thumb:, that actually took me a little while, I knew it was TYR album but couldnt think of the song.

"Look in the water
Tell me what do you see
Reflections of the love you give to me
Life isn't money
It's not something you buy
Let me fill myself with tears you cry"

Brew 01-05-2006 06:05 PM

You're wrong, try again :p

And those lyrics are...ack, I know it but can't get the name.

Dio-era yes?

I'm thinking something off Heaven and Hell...

Lonely is the Word?

rippa32 01-05-2006 06:14 PM

You have the album but not the song.

EDIT: The lyrics you posted, is it Jerusalem?

Brew 01-05-2006 06:19 PM
You have the album but not the song.

EDIT: The lyrics you posted, is it Jerusalem?
It is indeed.

I can hear Dio singing your lyrics but I can't match them to a song.

Wishing Well?

rippa32 01-05-2006 06:37 PM

You got it, it's Wishing Well.

shadow_stalker 01-07-2006 07:50 PM

so whats going on with this Dio box set? is it all the dio era albums put together or a crappy little best of?

Grimm 01-08-2006 12:02 AM

I just found out that Black Sabbath will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame this year on March 13. I think I may speak for a few people when i say, About ****ing time!

Brew 01-08-2006 04:46 AM

:chug: for Sabbath then.

shadow - I think its going to be similar to the Black Box, with all the Dio-era albums being included, and a possible bonus disc of out-takes, the 2 new songs and other weird stuff that people like to put on cds.

rippa32 01-08-2006 05:07 AM

That box set would be awesome, too bad I have two Dio albums already.

Mwahahaha i only have 1 Dio sabbath album as it is so i think i will keep an eye open for that one :D

I almost got a Dio live album the other day but it was £16, and im too cheap to pay that much for a cd:angry:
