Floydfanatic 07-26-2005 11:02 PM

waht's sort of sad, considering how much i love pink floyd, i was pissed off when they did the live 8 thing, and if they went on tour i'd just lose all faith

PinkFloyd 07-26-2005 11:02 PM

It's the next major I-net trend, spread the word around...:C

True. They were offered 250 million to go on a North American tour and turned it down. Good old classy Floyd.

that makes me warm inside

PinkFloyd 07-26-2005 11:11 PM

^Well.... :C

Floydfanatic 07-26-2005 11:17 PM

i just can't imagine pink floyd cashing in on the whole "reuniun tour".

and i can go on about how i wouldn't want them to join in with bands i love, like the pixies. i was so dissapointed when the pixies cashed in on their reuniun. i thought they were true originals i thought they were punk and art and noise all in one.

but i'm just a stubborn indie kid i guess :( it's not that i care if they do it, but i would lose a lot of respect for them as artists

PinkFloyd 07-26-2005 11:19 PM

I'd still think they were great because it doesn't change the work they did before, but I agree reunion tours are lame. It's ever worse when they get exicited with the tour and try releasing another single or studio album. Look at Motley Crue. :C

elitechewbacca 07-26-2005 11:22 PM
Dave's vocals are much more beautiful on The Thin Ice and Mother.
yeah dave still has his voice going strong but as roger waters has gotten older his voice has lost its amazing touch on songs liek one of my turns

motely crue tsk tsk.. it's funny because i didn't even know they really had fans untill they went on their reunion tour.

like i don't think pink floyd would ever just blatantly sell out, i think they will always play like pink floyd, i cant even picture them sounding any different then themselves... but i'm a stubborn artist, and it just seems like a reunion tour isn't about art at all

okfine

there's a difference between wanting to do something with your life musically, like if music is my life i'll be trying my hardest to get some sort of music related job or keep playing as long as i can. socially though i'd rather not have anything socially to do with music, i don't want to talk about it, i almost wihs i could be a buckethead, that way i wouldn't be a musician around my peers but i would be to myself.

it jsut seems like in my area being a musician is a total drag sort of in the way that that's the first thing everyone thinks when they see me, "he's a good guitarist i've heard" i don't think anyone really knows who i am besides one or two people... i used to wear band t shirts but then people used to always say, oh your cool you like that band... which=lamezor to the max... i was so embarassed when people would say that that i just was like wtfzor why do i even wear these lame shirts. i mean if you dig people giving you attention for your music tastes go ahead... but uh when girls go omg you like pink floyd your hot! um ... you can figure out the rest

"music is my life, not my personality" it sort of makes sense, it was the best way to express what i was trying to say

Floydfanatic 07-27-2005 12:51 AM
He is making it sound like people that wear band shirts are shallow
it's true fool

haha not shallow, just lame, i used to do it, then i realized wait.. i don't wanna pay thirty bucks for some lame *** band t shirt, but then after that i was like ono i'll be unfashionable!!! so i went to the store and bought like fifty journey shirts

thunderzstruck 07-27-2005 12:54 AM

Floydfanatic 07-27-2005 12:54 AM

oh i'm just on here to piss people off

duh haven't u noticed?

thunderzstruck 07-27-2005 12:55 AM

lol

thats always a good thing

Floydfanatic 07-27-2005 12:58 AM

yeah i came back one day... and metal kids had overrun everything i was like WTF NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

so um now it's my goal in life to jsut uh piss off everyone by making fun of all their lame bands even though that's uber hypocritical in it'self i don't even give a ****, and making fun of metal kids to their virtual faces

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 01:25 AM

Ok heres a story kiddies.

It was 2 years ago and I was 15 or something. I wore a Nirvana shirt on a field trip because I like Nirvana. The shirt had a picture of Kurt Cobain on it. Then these two chicks come up to me and ones like "Omg I love Chris Cobain!". I then gave a dirty look and walked away. Little did I know that 2 months later the school would be infested with kids wearing band shirts.

I think using something as beautiful as music as a mere object to obtain a higher social status is apauling. An insult to music itself. I own a few band shirts and wear them from time to time but it IS only because I am a true fan of the band I am advertising. Lucky for me I own an Animals shirt so I can atleast diferentiate myself from the 20 other kids with Darkside shirts. The moral of the story is I dont fuking know.... :C :C :C

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 01:29 AM

Floydfanatic is a cool guy. :C

They sell Darkside shirts at Walmart these days

floyd fanatic, you dont know me, so dont even think everyone wears band shirts for social reasons. I like to collect band shirts, it doesnt make me a music social whore. I rant about Pink floyd enough so that everyone knows i love them, even without the shirts. o shi, discussing music is lame.

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 02:05 AM

ahahah no wonder, fukers are too lazy to go downtown to get them

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 07-27-2005 02:06 AM

Kingofdudes: Isn't Guitarguy your brother? If he is can you ask why he doesn't post anymore?

It's weird I'm know as the biggest music fanatic amung my friends and I have like no shirts related to music. (except a few that I don't even wear)

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 02:08 AM

Good^ you don't NEED a shirt to like music. All you need is a radio. :C
