Was CemetaryGates9 (or something to that extent) banned for the one word goodnight post in here? :fear:
Yep, but because I'd told him before not to make one word greetings posts in here before. He also insists on occasionally "arguing" with DieDarwinDie, when I'm pretty sure they're actually the same person.

If anyone is interested, here's a stand up comedy cd thing. It's Carlos Mencia, one of my favorite comedians, along with Bill Hicks. Hope you guys like it.

So it was a repeat offence as opposed to a total crackdown?

I'll post this here as well;

Any of you know why windows xp freezes whenever I try to delete an old user account?

Six Foot Revolver 04-23-2005 01:42 PM

Mine does that too, if you leave it for long enough I think it will work

Eitri Is Berserk 04-23-2005 01:45 PM

Leave the computer alone, or the account?

Can anyone think of any bands/songs (preferably good ones) with saxophone in them? I've got a few so far, but more would be nice.
Speaking of Ulver and saxophone's, the first song off of Predition City has a saxophone melody in it for a big part of the song.

How did you like that Ulver song as well?

Ulver - Lost In Moments (has a saxophone in it)
NFL Draft + NBA Playoffs = Good sports day.
I can't believe how badly the Vikes screwed up by taking Troy Williamson over Mike Williams.

The worst part* of having your team be the Super Bowl champs is that you have the last pick in the first round.

Also, the Pistons are really starting to run away with this game. Maybe they shouldn't have picked Darko, but they definitely shouldn't have picked Carmelo Anthony IMO. Tayshaun Prince is a very underrated player and is a much better fit for them.

* - only bad part

lunch998 04-23-2005 02:43 PM

The Jets don't even have a pick till mid second round.

Illmatic 04-23-2005 02:46 PM

I never knew you were a Jets fan, lunch...

Jom 04-23-2005 02:47 PM

Ugh, the Pistons game was depressing first quarter. Down by sixteen? Unheard of for us. Now, it's better, but still too close for my liking.

///

Anyways, I have a question about APC's "Judith."

I've heard/read conflicting stories about the meaning behind the song. Is it a song about atheism/anti-religion, or is it just Maynard's extended metaphor talking about something else, and if so, what?

I appreciate any help, sorry for such a n00bish question.

Some say it was written about his mother, who was a fire and brimstone southern baptist, who abused him as a child and was a religous fanatic.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-23-2005 02:50 PM

I'm out guys. See you.

Illmatic 04-23-2005 02:51 PM

I heard it was about his father, who was a reverend or something like that (perhaps a Tool fan can correct me here), abusing his mother.

Could have headed tot he tool thread...

But i think he's talking directly about his mother, who was severley ill and may have died (i think that is the story, could be mistaken). But he's basically saying why are you still praying? If there is a god out there he's the one that did this to you.

"Fcuk your lord, your god, your christ. He's the one that did this to you, never thought to question why"

My interp :)

Jom 04-23-2005 02:57 PM

Thanks, everyone, for your inputs.. I just figured it would be a safe post here, I didn't think about the Tool thread because I don't post in any official threads, really. I have no posts in the Metallica, Led Zep, Tool, etc. official threads.

Wow, this game is crazy. First, Tayshaun's block was a block... it didn't hit the backboard first.

OH SHIT, WHAT A BLOCK BY BIG BEN !

Then, that ridiculous shot that took a huge bounce off the rim that looked like it hit the shot clock, calls going everywhere...

... that's playoff basketball, man.

EDIT: BIG SLAM BY 'SHEED !

Illmatic 04-23-2005 03:02 PM

I loved when Ben Wallace ripped the ball out of Webber's hands at the end of the second quarter.

Webber seriously has to be the worst big-game player in NBA history. Or second-worst after Patrick Ewing.

Jom 04-23-2005 03:08 PM

Big Ben could wreck anyone's shit. Seriously, he can't make a shot outside the paint, but if you need to get 10+ boards a game on both the offensive and defensive end, he's the man to go to.

I remember Webber when he was at U of M... vaguely. When he called time out when they were all out in that big game against UNC, I think he was stigmatized for the rest of his basketball career :p

Illmatic 04-23-2005 03:10 PM

Webber is best known for this patented move he does in the crunch time of every big game:
1) He takes a pass at about the free throw line
2) He whirls around and puts his back to the basket
3) He looks frantically for someone to pass to

He seriously killed the Kings every year in the playoffs for the past few seasons...although that's not fair to say. Everybody on the Kings except for Mike Bibby freezes up in crunch time.

Jom 04-23-2005 03:17 PM

Jesus, Big Ben is swinging the blockhammer right now

That's true, but I would put Peja behind Bibby as well. He wouldn't choke as bad as everyone else, but Bibby was always mind on ice, heart on fire.

EDIT: I also liked how Rasheed had the championship belt (the WWE-like ones) when he walked into the arena. What a badass.

"Time to hit 'em in the mouth with the trophy !"

Heh, at first I thought you were talking about a mod. Then I was like..who the hell is Big Ben? Then I read the rest of the posts on this page and felt very dumb. Then I posted about it so that everyone can witness my stupidity.

I've got carpal tunnel in my right wrist, student health is closed for the weekend, I have no way to get to a local clinic because the campus Spring Fling fair has prompted cancellation of off-campus transportation, and I still have an essay to finish.

All of this was typed only with my left hand. Kill me now.

Stop masturbating :p

In all seriousness, that really sucks that SH is closed for the weekend... why would they do that? Are their hours always like that?

At least you're accurate with one hand typing... good luck with that essay :-\

This weekend is killing me. I mean, I'm glad that classes are over, but the studying and such is going to tear me a new one.

Oh well. I can conquer.
