Best Buy has stocked most of their albums since Deliverance came out, and there's another record store down the street that will definately have it, there shouldn't be a problem. But, yeah, it probably will be more widely available under Roadrunner.

i am the robots 08-29-2005 04:29 PM

I'm going to the Whitehall FYE, since nobody here, except like 3 other people are local, I'll explain with one sentence: IT'S FUCKING CORPERATE BACKED MUSIC STORE THAT SOMEHOW TURNED INTO A METAL WAREHOUSE.

Shadows 08-29-2005 04:33 PM

^^^ It's also horendously overpriced. I bought one CD there and swore never to do that again.

w00t, Ghost Reveries out now everywhere except US. Once I get some lyrical quotes I'll have a review up for it...

Darkness 08-29-2005 04:36 PM

Not in Canada either...

Shadows 08-29-2005 04:36 PM

I think it was all of North America that had to wait until tomarrow.

Darkness 08-29-2005 04:39 PM

:upset: Oh well, I couldn't buy it tell tomorrow anyway.

sHaZaM11 08-29-2005 04:40 PM

*sniff*
why does it have to be us North Americans that have to wait..

Darkness 08-29-2005 04:41 PM

Its because the stupid USA is getting punished for the mindless waring.

sHaZaM11 08-29-2005 04:45 PM

but why Canada!
What have we done to deserve this one extra day without Ghost Reveries.
Or what havn't we done..

Darkness 08-29-2005 04:47 PM

Agreed...

sHaZaM11 08-29-2005 04:49 PM

Um, for people who bought the album : how much did it cost? I want to know how poor I will be after tomorrow.

Kage 08-29-2005 04:51 PM
Its because the stupid USA is getting punished for the mindless waring.
...Or maybe because it's always been that CDs are always released on Tuesday in the United States?

I'll be able to get the album at Best Buy for $9.99, which is a great deal.

Darkness 08-29-2005 04:57 PM
...Or maybe because it's always been that CDs are always released on Tuesday in the United States?
Having trouble noticing a joke their eh Kage?

Kage 08-29-2005 04:59 PM

I got the joke.

bucket 08-29-2005 05:01 PM

I went to Sam Goody today just to be sure to get it tomorrow. I was looking around and I saw 5 different Opeth CDs in stock. It blew my mind since they only ever have BWP and the D's.

Then I saw a Porcupine Tree CD that wasn't In Absentia or Deadwing. Another shock. I bought Up the Downstairs :D.

I get to check out and the cashier has heard of and enjoys both PT and Opeth. It was the first time I have met anyone who likes either without me whoring the bands to them first.

It made me happy.

... and then I remembered I was going to get a new Opeth album the next day.

:D

/still Lamentationless :(

alan_pfeifer 08-29-2005 05:04 PM
ive heard of opeth, but i havent really heard their songs, i 2 think that there are no more good bands out there, could you tell me some good songs to download?
The Drapery Falls. That's all you need. If that doesn't get you hooked, then I don't know what.

i am the robots 08-29-2005 05:11 PM

I suggest The Drapery Falls, Reverie/Harlequin Forest, To Bid You Farewell, Demon Of The Fall, The Moor, Master's Apprentices, Death Whispered A Lullaby, and The Apostle In Triumph.

[my favorite song from each album].

Darkness 08-29-2005 05:30 PM

Massive Opeth website update.

Shadows 08-29-2005 05:41 PM

I noticed. I They eliminated the intro page but the rest of it looks about the same.

Darkness 08-29-2005 06:00 PM

They added Pers picture to the Bios, but no Bio yet.

Shadows 08-29-2005 06:01 PM

I found that funny as well.
His name is spelled Per...not Pear! LOL :D

But yes, TBOTH is my fav at the moment.
Yeah yeah I know but it is closely pronounced like pear. Just some name humour here.

Deth 08-29-2005 07:19 PM

I am really tempted to ask the mods to change my name to Ghost of Perdition, because, you know, that would totally own.

dirge for november 08-29-2005 07:23 PM

I'm going to go pick up the albumas soon as I get a chance. I actually held out listening to songs. This way its gonna be a big surprise when I hear it. :)

Deth 08-29-2005 07:28 PM

Whoa, check it:
Sweden's OPETH have posted the following message on their official web site:

"Roadrunner Records has set the release date for 'Ghost Reveries' on the 29th of August (Europe and world) + 30th of August for North America. The record will be released on regular CD, double vinyl as well as a later limited edition hardback deluxe CD! A shorter edit version of 'The Grand Conjuration' will see a single release in the near future. Included on the disc is the edit version as well as the full 10-minute + version and another edit of the 'Ghost of Perdition' track. A video for 'The Grand Conjuration' (edit) was also shot in Los Angeles/USA with director Bill Yukich.

"OPETH recently returned home from the first ever Sounds of the Underground North American tour where the band shared the stage with LAMB OF GOD, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, CLUTCH, GWAR and more. During the first weeks of the tour Martin Lopez became seriously ill and had to fly back home to Sweden for treatment. He's currently under supervision and is doing well and we hope for a swift recovery and return to his natural habitat....behind the drums. Legendary basher Gene Hoglan (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DARK ANGEL, DEATH, TESTAMENT and more) filled in for Lopez during the Sounds of the Underground tour for the last 16 gigs as well as participating in the video shoot for 'The Grand Conjuration'. A temporary replacement has been found in BLOODBATH/WITCHERY/NIFELHEIM drummer Martin Axenrot, who will take over Lopez duties until he's fully recovered.

"Norwegian prog metallers EXTOL has been confirmed as support for the upcoming September European tour. A third band is likely to be added to the bill as well. Another European tour will take place in November/December and will be more extensive than the imminent September tour.

"Legendary BBC radio has invited OPETH for a recording session in December. This recording will then be aired on British radio in the near future. More details on this as it unfolds.

"Mikael Åkerfeldt has recorded vocals for a track destined for the upcoming Roadrunner 25 Years compilation CD. The song 'Roads' was written by TYPE O NEGATIVE keyboardist Josh Silver. Mikael recorded the vocals while on the Sounds of the Underground tour in Atlanta/Georgia with guitarist/now producer/engineer James Murphy. Mr. Murphy is currently working with the much talked about DEATH tribute CD, which will include appearances from Mikael Åkerfeldt ('Pull the Plug') as well as Martin Lopez and Martin Mendez and Peter Lindgren."
Arrakakaka 08-29-2005 07:43 PM

Cool news. I hope Lopez is alright..

Deth 08-29-2005 07:44 PM

Me too, Gene isn't the same, even if he can play all the stuff.

Darkness 08-29-2005 08:34 PM

Genes awesome, he did a perfect job. Suck it up.

GOT the GUDS 112 08-29-2005 08:51 PM

I had heard that the reason he couldn't finish the tour because of a genetic blood disease...that's serious stuff, and doesn't seem like it bodes well for his career :upset:
