Just curious...Stoic, is Blind Guardian your favorite band ?
2007?????

We maybe, MAYBE, MAYBE might have a chance of going then. Friends should be old enough to have their full licenses.

Stoic gave me that in the BG thread a little while ago. It does say its a rough schedule though...

I should have checked these guys out earlier...im realy liking them. I was surprise to see they only had 3 albums though.

/is a Dragon Force noob.

Trev 01-31-2006 03:59 PM

They played it at Manchester, and blimey, it's brilliant live.

Stoic 01-31-2006 04:00 PM

IMO, the first 2 albums are better. i really like the third, but it's just not as good.

Trev 01-31-2006 04:01 PM

I agree. I also found that the choruses in Inhuman Rampage arn't as catchy.

Stormrider 01-31-2006 04:02 PM

Then I'll start by getting one of the 2 first then...

i would agree on that, it's not so much of a sing-along album as the other 2.
Then I'll start by getting one of the 2 first then...
i'd go with either really, they're both awesome. although Sonic Firestorm does have Soldiers of the wasteland on it, which makes it better.

I was just looking at that :p I'll try to get that one.

NP - Dragon Force - Fury of the Storm

Shattered_Future 01-31-2006 04:12 PM

Best song off of that album, methinks. :)

My big gripe with Dragonforce is, while excellent, they essentially released the same album three times. Their gimmick is good, but they're gonna need to start making a few large changes to their sound.

And they released the same song about 8 times on each album, with a few that are slightly different...

That's important. It's one of the most important parts of PM for me.

IheartSP 01-31-2006 04:32 PM

The one song I heard off Inhuman Rampage was at least twice as good as anything I had heard from their previous releases. I have long been an extreme Dragonforce hater, that song I could actually tolerate.

Thought some of you might find this guy entertaining. What a poseur.

Lord Abortion 01-31-2006 04:41 PM

I was gradually building up the rage...then I actually shouted "you cunt" at the computer when he gave a 1* review to liquid tension experiment...he probably likes fucking Pantera... what a gayboy.

Steerpike 01-31-2006 04:44 PM

I think it's adorable how he thinks power metal is a shallow genre with Blind Guardian being the only exception.

Let's face it, this is just a kid trying to out-extreme everybody else.

Then he reviews something wicked with 5 stars?
what the hell?

this makes no sense!

hahah... he talks rubbish about cheesy metal, and gives a Dio album 5 stars?! I love Dio, but you know...

That guys needs to go take Metal 101. He obviously doesn't realize metal is rooted in Classical, making Power Metal the most real metal there is. I can understand if he thinks Power Metal can be a bit overformulated but most of the bands he reviewed were some of the more unique ones. He seems to hate Classical music of any form, which I think in metal is the greatest thing you can incorporate. He thinks Rhapsody and Dimmu Borgir suck, I think they are two of the greatest bands to walk this earth because of their purely orgasmic use of symphonies.

Did anyone find it odd that he likes Blind Guardian? I can see how he likes Iced Earth because he seemed to like Thrash too, but Blind Guardian somehow gets 5 stars. Also in his world, either you suck or you kick ass, His only ratings are 1 star for totally anus, 2 for terrible, and 5 for awesome. He confuses me greatly becuase the bands he does like are all pretty good, with a few that are really good. It seems he is just an ignorant bastard who coincidentally likes good music and doesn't actually know enough about it to realize that Power Metal is just as good.

Steerpike 01-31-2006 04:51 PM

Like I said, I think he's trying to look as tr00 and extreme as possible. Hence his worship of Death and hatred for power metal.

Or maybe he just hates power metal because Manowar's album covers make his pants go crazy and that scares him.

IheartSP 01-31-2006 04:53 PM

I think he just doesn't know anything about music, music theory, and its history.

Steerpike 01-31-2006 04:55 PM

Eh... It's more fun to make fun of his masculinity (or lack thereof).

Lord Abortion 01-31-2006 04:56 PM

Yet he hates Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel?!
he has some consistency issues...

I know some people don't like CC, but any DM fan will tell you that Altars of madness is one of the greatest DM albums to ever be recorded.

IheartSP 01-31-2006 04:57 PM

Yeah that's option #2 I guess

Steerpike 01-31-2006 04:59 PM

Notice that he rips on Cannibal Corpse for their lyrical themes, but avoids any mention of Death's debut album which has music and lyrics that could make Chris Barnes shit himself.
