(NP: Psycroptic - The Colour Of Sleep)

schweinhund 08-29-2004 06:42 AM

THAT is a great list of thrash bands, if Overkill was already mentioned, cuz they are the greatest thrash band ever.

And Heathen? Breaking the Silence is probably the greatest thrash album ever made after Darkness Descends.
The Haunted
Thrash? Where's the puke emoticon when you need one?

Bartender 08-29-2004 07:08 AM

Possessed? I though they were death metal.

manuscriptreplica 08-29-2004 07:49 AM

The Haunted? I thought they were sh it metal.

Bartender 08-29-2004 07:55 AM

They basically coined the term, but they're more of a Thrash band than anything else.
The Haunted? I thought they were sh it metal.
Yeah, but then again, you like Manowar

schweinhund 08-29-2004 08:33 AM

Compared to the The Haunted, Manowar are Judas Priest.

manuscriptreplica 08-29-2004 08:37 AM

^^ What does that mean?
They basically coined the term, but they're more of a Thrash band than anything else.
I still haven't heard Seven Churches, I need to get around to doing that.

ThrashMaster27 08-29-2004 08:42 AM

I think he means that although Manowar are **** (in his opinion) The Haunted make them look like Judas Priest (indicating tons of ****ness on The Haunteds part).

You must listen to Seven Churches, yes. MUST!

DisposableHeroes 08-29-2004 09:55 AM

anyone else like S.O.D?

manuscriptreplica 08-29-2004 10:11 AM

They're ok. I have the Speak English or Die reissue. If they wrote serious songs, and added some solos, they'd be quite the band.

Arise 08-29-2004 10:11 AM

But what if you think Judas Priest suck as much as Manowar?

DisposableHeroes: I've heard great things about them, but always been to lazy to check 'em out

DisposableHeroes 08-29-2004 10:15 AM

its good stuff too, with some humour invloved. I have Speak English Or Die on vinyl, its a shame they arent together

RavenousMetalist87 08-29-2004 11:00 AM

I just finished watching the Live Kreation DVD I got for my b-day. man it was like forever!

I was like "Man when is this going to end?!?" (The history wasn't too exhilirating, but I liked it. The guy who was doing the narrarrations was just boring. Then the guys would talk in German and I was like "o.o;"

I was so lost. If they actually took the time to interview the memembers like how they do it for Behind the Music, then I would've been focused. The cool thing about the DVD is the concert films. South Korea had some pretty die hard Kreator fans. Even the chicks loved it! It was my first time actually seeing another country who I have never heard of liking a thrash metal band.

Oh yeah, and Eric Peterson was on the DVD too! haha that guy just cracks me up. He was doing his "Black Metal Vocals" when he was talking about Kreator. There was a chick with him but I was like "I wonder who she was"...

It was a cool DVD though. Kreator is up there on my list of my favorite thrash bands with Testament and Slayer. I like Metallica and Megadeth, but I like Kreator and Testament a lot more.

DisposableHeroes 08-29-2004 11:08 AM

Eric Peterson did black metal vocals? Lol, cant be as funny as seeing him in corpsepaint

RavenousMetalist87 08-29-2004 11:13 AM
Eric Peterson did black metal vocals? Lol, cant be as funny as seeing him in corpsepaint
He sure did.

DragonLord is his side project. You have to listen to him. It's just so odd, but when he was on the Kreator DVD when they asked him about Kreator, he was just so funny when he talked like a black metal vocalist. It was just...great!

Corporal Compendia 08-29-2004 03:51 PM
Hahaha, i'm sure you know them personally as assholes.

Manowar makes great music, alot of their stuff define heavy metal anthems. They may not appeal to your taste but childishly insulting them with words like gay and asshole won't get you very far.

How about we talk about what we enjoy rather than bring down others opinions? :chug:
Cause arguing is more fun... All everyone ever does is taaaalk about what everyone likes! Dark Angel, Testament and Kreator can only be discussed so many times! Therefore, arguing is better...sometimes... provided someone doesn't get too out of hand and start to insult the people involved, but if they do that well, more power too them.

and yes, Manowar are assholes... they have total rock star prick attitudes. They even threatened to stop playing because of a few crowd surfers last time they played here. That's just soooo metal!!
