My computer crashed, and my itunes cannot be recovered.
There goes 500+ albums :( To be honest, I'm not even processing this occurence -- too much hurt would come of it. |
Wow man, that's just terrible. I can't even comprehend it...
|
That happened to me once (well, something similar), but I don't think I had nearly that many albums.
|
Man that just sucks. I don't know what I'd do if my computer crashed...
Did you try running system restore to try to get your music back? np: Love Sculpture- Come Home Baby (excellent British blues-rock) |
I now have 36 albums on my computer.
I still have most my Dead collection (luckily I had most of it on disc) and am recovering from my loss of If I Should Fall From Grace with God with the addition of Rum Sodomy & The Lash. :)
Did you try running system restore to try to get your music back?
no success so far. |
Isn't there a way to put music from your Ipod back onto your computer?
Just sent out Amon Düül II's Yeti. |
Isn't there a way to put music from your Ipod back onto your computer?
Yep, all your music is on your ipod already in a folder. Just tag it back to normal and you should be happy. If you don't there's a program that can put all your music on your computer. |
I used a program to restore my music when my computer crashed not to long ago. I still lost the stuff I didn't haven my iPod but now I have more than ever.
Still, I only lost 350 albums thats a long ways from 500. |
I'm listening to Erkin Koray right now, he's a Turkish guitarist. I downloaded the album off of the chocoreve blog. It's a bootleg so the quality is pretty bad, which is a shame because the music is great. I think I'll upload it.
|
that chat ended abruptly.
cactus is a really cool band. |
Hurray for back up hard drives.
|
Has anyone seen Heart of Gold yet? Apparently it's got 4 stars.
Badmoon - That sucks :( Did your computer just crash without provocation? |
Yea, but I should have seen it coming. That computer seemed pretty messed up to begin with; should've figured it was fixin' to stab me in the back.
|
Download EphPod. That's the best for getting songs from your iPod to your PC. Real fast too.
I could send some out if you need 'moon. |
I am so sorry 'moon :(
So it didn't just screw iTunes, it deleted the actual music files? because it might have cleared your library information, but it should have kept the actual files. I'm willing to start uploading stuff for you right now bud. |
I could send some out if you need 'moon.
Most likely unnecessary, but thanks :) I'm just looking for Grievious Angel, and some other Pogue/Uncle Tupelo albums I don't already have. And maybe some Dub essentials. |
That's why I don't use iTunes.
:) Soulseek> I have GP/Grevious Angel on CD if you want. |
Just sent out Amon Düül II's Yeti.
hey man I didn't get the album. Could you please send it to : grenz_erich@yahoo.com thanks |
I have GP/Grevious Angel on CD if you want.
Let me actually see if I have it on disc -- can't actually remember if I do. I'll get back to you on that with an edit. EDIT: Can't find. So if you're up for it, upload it whenever. :) |
Ouch :-/
If I lost the 70+ gigs of music I have on my computer, I would cry like a school girl. |
Let me actually see if I have it on disc -- can't actually remember if I do.
I'll get back to you on that with an edit. EDIT: Can't find. So if you're up for it, upload it whenever. :)
Alright, I'll get it when I get home tomorrow. 1:30 dismissal tomorrow + no school Friday = awesome. |
Alright, I'll get it when I get home tomorrow.
1:30 dismissal tomorrow + no school Friday = awesome.
psh I've been out since last Friday and don't go back till Monday. It's awesome. But this vacation is why we got just a pathetic week off for Christmas. But I have to go on college visiting binge these last couple days. Not that bad actually. When I was eating lunch in the cafeteria at Trinity College in Connecticut they were cranking Dear Mr. Fantasy in the background:cool: |
I just sent out the Erkin Koray album. Everyone download it, you will be pleased.
EDIT: Badmoon, I keep looking at your avatar and thinking it's Peter Sellers from Dr. Strangelove. |
I thought this was kind of interesting.
http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/9257498/teens_save_classic_rock I kind of got into classic rock on my own, and I haven't been really successful at converting my friends that well. Except one, who I would never guess would. I was talking to him and he said he downloaded a file with 36 Grateful Dead albums :amaze: He said he was just getting into them, but he liked them. I quickly drew up a quick list of albums to download. I wonder if he has yet... |

I mean I love having guys like we do on here who are knowledgeable about it and are deep into classic rock and can discuss it intelligently. But I hate people who have 1 song by Led Zeppelin or AC/DC and think their incredibly cool classic rock experts. I have a few friends who are open-minded and deeply into music like me which is awesome, but a lot of people are just into AC/DC and Led Zeppelin to follow the classic rock trend. I liked the quote from George Thorogood a lot though about cleaning up his setlist- "cocain blues... maybe not." But Steve Perry was wrong about Journey, people dissed them back then, and sorry Steve, but we still do now. |

It's usually a mix of rock, punk, or electronic stuff...but no one complains when someone puts on jazz or folk. I have this one friend who has a shirt that says "die you hippie bastards" and it shows a bunch of punk type guys sitting around drinking alcohol....well we were playing Live Dead one time and I think she liked it more than anyone else. I was pretty impressed. |
yeah a lot of my good high school buds listen to lots of different types of music....more then me actually....well, except for Metallica, all the bands on my playlist are Classic Rock!
No I haven't seen it yet, but I desperately want to! Apparently he mentions Winnipeg...:) |
Most of my friends are somewhat into CR, but they haven't really delved that deep into it yet.
|
guess who just downloaded the leaked guns n roses album? allen did!
|
guess who just downloaded the leaked guns n roses album? allen did!
Guess who Allen's gonna upload it for! Me! Or you could just point me in the direction of a link to it. I just heard on the radio that Roger Waters is touring with Nick Mason this summer. They're gonna be playing DSOTM in it's entirety, but so far they only have dates in France. So we have David Gilmour touring with Richard Wright in North America, but only in 5 cities, and Roger Waters with Nick Mason, but only in fucking France. |
Even despite playing DSotM, I'd go to see Gilmour and Wright over Waters and Mason if I had to choose.
|
I heard IRS on the radio last night. Ugh, such a terrible song. Axl has really lost it, it sounds nothing like anything from Appetite from Destruction. Appetite had so much more of a heavier sound.
|
Classic Rock in my school has become pretty popular. You could walk around my school and see that about 15% of white males have at least one Classic Rock related shirt, it seems like it's only growing in popularity too. I really have no problem with it though although I hate to see people like my big brother (who doesn't know a damn thing) wear a Doors shirt, it's pretty frustrating. My friends listen to mostly Classic Rock like Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Beatles, Grateful Dead...etc and sometimes I'll introduce them to other genres. (Django Reinhardt was a huge hit with them) Although one of my friends always has a huge dispute over Led Zeppelin with me and that seems to be the only major band me and him just can't agree on. I'm the one they always come to for musical advice, I've even got one of my friends to hate Led Zeppelin, like a bunch of garage psychedelia, and love Syd Barrett.
Did anyone know Ray Davies just came out with an album? I've heard it's really good from several accounts. Does anyone else like The United States of America? I feel like I'm the only one (in here) who appreciates them. I think their s/t has to be one of the greatest Psychedelic albums. MX is really funky right now, am I the only one? |
Guess who Allen's gonna upload it for! Me! Or you could just point me in the direction of a link to it.
http://zinhof.blog.hr/ second one down. it's only the demos, but still. |
Yea, right after I posted that I went to that site and was like
Did anyone know Ray Davies just came out with an album? I've heard it's really good from several accounts.
I knew, but I forget where I heard about it. Derek Trucks has a new album too, which is probably awesome. |
derek trucks has a new one? can't wait to pick it up. i loved his cover of "drown in my own tears" off of soul serenade with gregg allman. i might even like it more than buckley's version.
