PaulSimonon 01-05-2005 11:27 PM

"Money is small" in Latin.

PaulSimonon 01-05-2005 11:29 PM

Novus means new in Latin. Novem is nine in Latin. Easy to mix up! I assume yours was in spanish?

ToolBox 01-05-2005 11:33 PM

coddingtown 01-06-2005 12:33 AM

Hey guys. I have really come to enjoy excersizes on bass. I have a "workout routine" of sorts down now. My wrists are skinny as hell so I dont have much playing endurance. Hopefully this will build them up a bit

irishslappop 01-06-2005 12:34 AM
hola, ¿como estas?
PaulSimonon 01-06-2005 12:34 AM

That's what I've been working on lately too. And finger speed. And cleaning up my slapping.

Well, just got the news that I flunked out of college, so I suppose I'll be leaving for some time. Bye bass forum, you're a good community.

PaulSimonon 01-06-2005 12:37 AM

Later. I hope everything works out in your life! Keep up the groove, and don't **** anything up.

Haha, me too.
what kind are they, where did you get them?
Well I sometimes to Coffee's metronome excersize, but right now I am trying to build up my right hand and arm, and slapping works your whole arm out fairly well, so I set the metronome to a good speed where I can play fir at least 30 seconds without my hand cramping up (usually about 140-150) and play this:

-----x-----x-----x-----x-----x---
--x-----x-----x-----x-----x------
----x-x---x-x---x-x---x-x---x-x--
-x-x---x-x---x-x---x-x---x-x-----

Slap the first note of each triplet on the beat. That cleans up your slapping, speeds up your slapping, and should buld up your arm and wrist and shoulder.

I also just tap scales with my left hand on my high action fretless, also with a metronome. That should stengthen them and give them more mobility.

coddingtown 01-06-2005 01:04 AM

So what excersizes do you guys do, have you made any of your own?

If so, Id like to see them. I could use some more good excersizes

PaulSimonon 01-06-2005 01:09 AM

I've been going through one on a Jaco video that Quatre was kind enough to teach me. You play through all modes of a scale, doing the I forwards, II backwards....etcetc.

madthumbs 01-06-2005 01:12 AM
he's going to get banned...
it was mod endorsed

i do a fairly complicated arpeggio exercise, its not hard its just a mental work out to see how well your know your scales.

basicaly you play the \/ up the minor third and so on
1-3-5-7-8-6-4-2-3-5-7-9-3-8-6-11-5-7-9-11-5-3-8-6....
^ you go____^and you come down to the minor second
up the
major scale
