Today's my first day at the youth centre. I'm so excited.

And I can't stop writing ambient music. I'll go to learn a song and eventually trail off and write a minute or so of material, then have to write it all down, then expand on it, etc.

Corkofski 11-07-2006 02:18 PM

im gonna write an acoustic cover of aces high...

should be fun...

TTTSNB 11-07-2006 02:40 PM

So this guy just came up to my friends and I at our table, stared at us, and took our pictures several times. All because one friend, who was pissed off, ripped up a newspaper he had put on our table (she refused it once, he put it down again) So we're going to complain now, mainly for taking our pictures without our permission.

Sunshine 11-07-2006 03:52 PM

1812 Overture..sounds familiar.

I think I had to play 2nd trumpet for part of it in elementary school.

MNdrummer21 11-07-2006 04:04 PM

Posted this in a topic in G&M, would appreciate if you listened and gave some feedback: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=615382. Thanks.

my drum teacher gave me an exercise that has the same sorta idea...

but not really...

play triple stroke rolls (RRRLLL...16th notes) and put the bass drum on every quarter note...

K tabbing it wont work but it was like...

The bass drum is always playing quarters and your hands are playing 16th's but they were playing RLRLRL then RRLLRRLL then RRRLLL then RRRRLLLL then RRRRRLLLLL and so on and so forth.

Corkofski 11-07-2006 05:24 PM

try this
paradiddle x2, double paradiddle x2, triple paradiddle x2, accent the single strokes:

in succession, so it builds:

R|X-xx-x--X-X-xx-x-x--X-X-X-xx-x-x-x--|
L|-x--X-xx-x-x--X-X-xx-x-x-x--X-X-X-xx|

its not 10 meg, but it'll do...

Jezen 11-07-2006 06:54 PM

Both playing doubles as triplets or pentuplets and that other exercise with the RRRLLL on the hands and quarters on the bass drum are pretty easy..

I just haven't practiced playing doubles as septuplets.

Seafroggys 11-07-2006 07:06 PM

I really need to work on my pents and septs some more.

I've slacked off so much on my development the past year or so, I've really plateaued. I should be much better for playing 7 years then I am.

We_Love_Lime 11-07-2006 07:08 PM

Oh dude.
Ray Charles's Genius Love's Company Album is awesome...

Sweet Potatoe Pie is the coolest song ever..
