I like WD more overall, but AB is fantastic.
That's what Moon thinks too. I mean WD is a fantastic album and all but I perfer AB for sure. It's more diverse IMO. Some of the songs in the middle of WD just resemble each other but WD does have "Dire Wolf" and it is a better road album.
I don't like American Beauty, but I do like Workingman's Dead.
Is that possible? :amaze:

Walrus Gumboot 09-04-2005 03:43 PM

As far as that guitarist list, Richard Thompson should have been in the top five, not 17. He is pretty obscure, but well known in his field. I saw him in June, and I couldn't beleive my eyes. He would play rhythm lead and bass guitar at the same time, plucking with all of his fingers so fast you couldn't even watch. I was like  the whole time. He used to work with Hendrix and Page. Just phenomenal

Was Duane Allman that good? I always thought he played rhythm and Dicky Betts played lead, I guess he was replaced by Dicky

I love American Beauty. It changed my life, which is something I can say of only AB and SPLHCB

audioviva 09-04-2005 03:44 PM

WD songs resembling eachother? Cumberland blues=Black Peter??~!?1 NO!

AB isn't the end all be all (operator) it has some weak songs/ the only weak one on WD (MAYBEEE) is high time

:smoke:

Walrus Gumboot 09-04-2005 03:45 PM

Don't get the wrong idea, I am infuriated by this whole issue that the gov't is evidently quite racist, has made fools of us in front of the whole world and tries to get away with it by saying that it is "not the time to talk about these issues" as the Hmeland Security director said. I am anticipating some sort of terrorist attack in the near future, and I am looking forward to the possibility that our government will take a more sociallist turn, instead of pretending to care about this **** when they let people die there because they have no financial gain

I am also enraged that they knew this whole thing was going to happen, and nobody would help build effective levees, and that they did not coordinate an adequate evacuation system. A dicision that cost hundreds of lives.

thickasabrick 09-04-2005 04:28 PM

New Orleans is Sinking would be too obvious so I won't name it.
I dunno....Singing in the Rain? Hahaha. Sorry, it was so lame I had to laugh. I'm sure by the time I finish writing this post there'll be like a hundred decent songs named...and the best I could think of was Singing in the Rain. I dunno. I'm listening to Dark Star at a very surprising volume. I was just in my room, so I turned it up loud enough to hear it. Now I'm back at my computer and I haven't turned it down. Wonderful song though. Live/Dead is my favourite Grateful Dead album.

Lunch 09-04-2005 04:29 PM

Yea, it's embarassing how we didn't seem prepared for this at all.
