Can anyone send me either a Metallica or Nirvana album within the next little while? I have to leave for work soon, and this lose noob student of mine refuses to come back to lessons until I teach him songs he likes....and according to the list he gave me, the closest things to good bands on his list are Metallica and Nirvana. It's pretty sad actually, but I figure some of you might have a Metallica or Nirvana album laying around.

Yousendit or AIM is fine, but I have to leave for work in about an hour....sooooo....you know.....hopefully someone can help me out.

Or just tell me what the latest P2P type software is....I have both Ares and WinMX and neither of them have worked for well over a year now. I'm willing to try downloading whatever you guys say works best.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-20-2006 02:55 PM

im seriously thinking about paying the months worth of rapidshare just so i dont have to wait between each download, the site i just gave had a thing in the comments with a bunch of links in them but i think theyre all rapidshare, its killing me.

Thick, whats your email, i have a Metallica rapidshare link for you. Its 2 parts so if you havent downloaded anything for a while it will work.

I can send you a nirvana album if you want, either nevermind or in utero.

thickasabrick 02-20-2006 02:59 PM

back_in_black256@hotmail.com

Thanks man! What album?

edit - I just wanna teach him some of the relatively easy Metallica songs (Nothing Else Matters intro etc) and basically any of the popular Nirvana songs. I'm already looking at Come As You Are because that's one of the few that I already know how it goes...but I need the album. So whatever album Come As You Are is on. (directed more towards Morrison357)

morrison357 02-20-2006 03:02 PM

I'll send nevermind, but I have to wait about 5 minutes before i can upload, is that ok.

WelcomeToTheMachine 02-20-2006 03:03 PM

the Metallica is Creeping Death, ill email it right now.

EDIT - i just had a huge list of links that i didnt look through, i just caught some porn i nthere so let me filter out these links

MBS 02-20-2006 03:09 PM

I would send you my Nirvana greatest hits Thick, but my upload speed sucks teh big one.

morrison357 02-20-2006 03:18 PM

Nevermind is on it's way, so it should be there soon.
I would send you my Nirvana greatest hits Thick, but my upload speed sucks teh big one.
No prob. I should probably go out and buy some Nirvana/Metallica/Greenday etc albums just so I can stay relatively in "the loop" with what the large majority of 14 years olds like to play on guitar. I was teaching that kid a bluegrass song before he stopped coming.

After looking through just about every Metallica tab on the internet, I feel the need to voice my amazement at how 95% of their songs are just the open E (or drop D) string being violently bashed with some other powerchords thrown in.

Not a whole lot of music this week.

Edit- What! Chris shut down his site! That blows. Oh well, we still got tons of great stuff from him. You can't really blame him though. He uploads so many great albums and nobody bothers to comment. I wish he would have kept the archives open though, even if he didn't have time to keep uploading albums. But he introduced us to so much good stuff.

That's not why he's closing it. He said it was he had to go back to work. Meh, it was fun while it lasted, but I was getting overwhelmed with new music :p

I downloaded the Reunion album but not the live '67 one. Not sure which one you're talking about, but the live album sounded better and more interesting so you're probably referring to that. Wish I downloaded that one. The Reunion album is pretty good though. I'm downloading I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night now off the site WttM posted a page ago.

np: ZZ Top- La Grange

Thanks for Tres Hombres jpj. I had a 2 hour drive to visit a college today and listened to quite a bit of ZZ Top in the car. Best drivng music ever.

Midnight Rambler > Midnight Rider

Ugh, I hate blogs, mostly because they are rapidshare and I could just as easily get them off of slsk. I've been downloading Rolling Stones at the Ed Sullivan show all day, I'm putting them in my pod.

yeah but soulseek takes too long. i can get an album in 15 minutes with blogs.

jpj 02-20-2006 05:27 PM

Gah, I hate when the albums come in parts. I always end up missing a song because it doesn't extract right. The Soft Machine album is missing a track

STFU Yankee boy, you don't live in a semi-rural Southern community filled with "prepnecks", idiots that pretend to be all Southern but complement their recently-bought John Deere hat with a nice pink Polo. In other words, just the right combination for a school-wide obcession with both poppy country and poppy "rap" (meaning, of course, any rap artist except the good ones. I bet you a million dollars if I were to ask a single one of the rap fans at my school if they liked the Roots, they'd say "umm no, i don't like rock lol rock is gay SOUL SAH-VIVAH YO! YOUNG JEEZY IN DA HEEZY!") Keep in mind all these guys are white upper-class teenagers at a private school (albeit a crappy one)

In other words, I have to listen to more crappy music than the rest of you combined, so stop bitching.

:p
