You know, there's pills for releasing endorphins now. just don't get caught with them.

Ravers and masochists- they have more in common than they think.

actually , its a way of self help, often used as a diverter from suicide, so its more helpful than you think
i do beleive that WM is only a mod not a super mod. but please correct me if i am wrong.

lowsound
No I think he is but now that you mention I'm curious.

Wintermute 01-05-2005 04:21 PM

I am a Super, I assure you. And while compiling the Casuals was indeed one of the first things I did after being supered, that was a coincidence. It's within a Local's ability.

neal_672 01-05-2005 04:25 PM

Wow hey Wintermute, haven't seen you around in a while!

Oh and hi to everyone else too

Jamie 01-05-2005 04:26 PM

Wintermute 01-05-2005 04:31 PM

I thoroughly intend to! I'm just copying a 133rd album onto my laptop (Dire Straits - On Every Street) and I'm lusting after something which will let me listen to them all on the move AND hold every episode of Red Dwarf...

bassist-bmxer 01-05-2005 04:31 PM
whats an iriver
Take an iPod, make them more reliable, with Line level recording with Auto-gain control, compatability with EVERY form of ID-tag, a full colour screen which can play videos, the ability to load WinAmp playlists, longer battery life, USB-Host facility, and many many many other ace features.

Keep the price about the same.

ridethelightning 01-05-2005 04:38 PM

neal_672 01-05-2005 04:42 PM

The H320, which is what Jamie got and what I intend to get, has a 20GB mini-HDD. You can get them bigger though - the 40GB version is only a little more expensive, but you don't get the colour screen and video capability.

Left Shoe 01-05-2005 04:46 PM

ah its british

Wintermute 01-05-2005 04:46 PM

Manufacturer's Description
For the first time for the MP3 jukebox the H300 series boasts a 260,000 colour 2" TFT LCD which supports a wide array of colourful icons and menus, bringing added convenience. All the advantages of a colour screen can now be yours through this great new product.

As the H300 supports the USB host function, data from other UMS devices can be directly transferred to the player through a single cable without having to use a desktop computer. All of you digital camera users who have been waiting for this function will be pleased to know that files can be transferred directly from portable USB devices such as the digital camera. With the addition of a browser function, this function has become even easier to use.

This easy-to-use external disk reduces waiting time with a faster transfer rate. By supporting the USB 2.0 interface, the player can transfer data at a maximum speed of 480Mbps. Since interfacing does not require a separate manager program as the player is recognized as a portable data storage, its use as an external hard disk is made even easier.

Considering the many attractive functions of the player, resisting the urge to own one will be difficult.

The colour screen can display 26 letters (13 Korean letters) horizontal and 10 rows vertical. The player provides a Text Viewer for displaying lyrics or e-books, an Image Viewer for viewing stored JPEG or BMP files, or for photos downloaded from a digital camera. SRS WOW introduces an excellence in bass and three-dimensional sound. You can create your favourite settings using the 5 preset EQ and user control EQ. With 20mW output, you will enjoy a world rich and powerful in sound

H300 Series uses lithium polymer batteries that can produce 16-hours of continuous play from 3-hour charges. There is no need for an adapter any more. Instead, with the USB cable connection, the player is charged automatically when connected to the PC.

The H300 Series features a radio function for listening and recording. Now you can record radio shows with the H300 model as requested from many H100 customers. Settings are saved for easy FM broadcast listening. Even on the move, you can enjoy crisp reception wherever you are. Now you can enjoy FM radio broadcasting anywhere in the world. Songs may be searched and played according to the artist, album, genre, and filename through the DB function. The player also supports the Winamp playlist enabling the user to create personalized albums.

The H300 makes it easy and simple to record voice with an internal and an optional external microphone, and other audio sound (such as CD, cassette tape or radio) with the analogue cable.

The Direct Encoding function directly connects to a CD player or other audio tools and converts the music into the MP3 format. AutoSync automatically categorizes and stores music into the MP3 format. Voice Detect supports voice recording, and enables the system to be turned on only when voice is detected, saving storage space and power consumption.

Compatibility with AGC(Auto Gain Control) makes recording capabilities comparable to a professional recorder; it captures sound from even at a distance and controls recording quality.

H300 is compatible with Lineout, which produces dynamic sound with its analogue cable connection to the speaker.

im computer stupid how much is a good quality 4 minute long song , in that

Wintermute 01-05-2005 04:49 PM

Put it this way - I'm just putting the 135th album on my laptop at a pretty good quality (192kbps - higher than standard) and I've just hit 9GB.

ridethelightning 01-05-2005 04:49 PM

thats cheaper than an ipod for me

wow
ill buy one eventually

Jamie 01-05-2005 04:52 PM

yeah,. one problem about watching videos on it. you need to use some software called Virtual Dub. visit www.misticriver.net and use the forums there. I post quite a bit now and learnt how to convert videos, etc.

The files have to be .avi, specific sizes, and other stuff. the limitations on the iriver is: 15fps, size: 220x176, max bitrate for .avi:500kbps

Its really cool though, I was watching primus earlier :)

I currently have 1087 songs on and about 60 pictures and 2 films and... 7 short clips

Wintermute 01-05-2005 04:53 PM

*shrugs*

I don't mind converting things. It's worth it.

Jamie 01-05-2005 04:56 PM

i love mine. And i love all the pictures of japanese women i have on it too! ;)

Id recommend an outro case for it too (the one that comes with it covers the whole thing so it has to be taken out of the case to use it. Also, the belt clip is non removable)

Jamie 01-05-2005 04:58 PM

oh yeah, wintermute do you know where i can get a decent .avi splitter? Just i need to split The Day After Tomorrow into two parts (I think it doesnt work if the play time is over a certain time like 100 minutes...)

Left Shoe 01-05-2005 04:58 PM

im sure i could remove it

Jamie 01-05-2005 04:58 PM

i may actually go and rip the clip off it...

Wintermute 01-05-2005 05:02 PM

Video editing isn't my thing... I've found some immensely fun things to do with audio files, but I'm no expert on video.

neal_672 01-05-2005 05:04 PM

This thing sounds awesome! I'd be able to put Hallucino Genetics and The Wall film on it ad carry them wherever i go! I'd only use mine for films and stuff like, i have a 30GB mp3 player already, but a portable film machine would rock amazingly hard....

neal_672 01-05-2005 05:13 PM

I have to go now anyways, ciao for now everyone

BassVirtuoso 01-05-2005 05:39 PM
