just don't even try to listen to the entire deicide discography haz idk why you're doing that with every damn band ever

Juddybear 07-05-2011 05:35 PM

yeah haz knock it off

Haz 07-05-2011 05:48 PM

I only listen to full lengths, if I really like the band might snatch up everything else they've done

it's useful just for pointing out the albums I like the most so I can return to them, rather than getting hung up on a particular release and neglecting everything else for the longest time like I used to do

and yeah I probably have OCD of some description cause I do this with those who make books and movies and video games so

rasputin 07-05-2011 08:39 PM

i like absorbing a band chronologically too, it makes the most sense

but i wouldnt recommend doing that with deicide, there are heaps of other, better, bands that you can work through

Deth 07-05-2011 08:44 PM

wtf this is death metal

if you have to reflect on bonecrushing riffs and eternal satans chronologically to get it, you're doing it wrong

Juddybear 07-05-2011 08:44 PM

backed hard

rasputin 07-05-2011 08:44 PM

um it's not reflecting, it's listening to the music

Haz 07-05-2011 10:09 PM
wtf this is death metal

what's a throwaway listen to a bunch of albums to weed out the stuff i'm not all that interested in.

how should I be doing it Jason?
i like absorbing a band chronologically too, it makes the most sense

well that's fair enough, but metal is a funny thing people tend to disagree with each other more than most genres and i've found it's better to just jump head first in and see what's good. of course there are people whose opinions I take more seriously than others when judging recommendations and whatnot but still, we all have different tastes there is no guarantee we are gonna have compatible tastes on every level

if the stuff i'm listening to now becomes redundant later down the track when I find something I like better well so be it.

alachlahol 07-06-2011 07:52 AM

working through discographies chronologically is what i do and im proud of it man im one of the last people left that appreciates music and bands

alachlahol 07-06-2011 07:52 AM

and yo why is everyone always talking about sororicide

here comes the bird flu 07-06-2011 11:18 AM

brb listening to cannibal corpse

Juddybear 07-06-2011 02:44 PM
and yo why is everyone always talking about sororicide
because the entity fucking rules, faggot

Haz 07-06-2011 09:02 PM

is any cannibal corpse worth getting

Juddybear 07-06-2011 09:08 PM

the one with hammer smashed face

rasputin 07-06-2011 09:23 PM

yeah sororicide's the entity is pretty cool

i assume some early cannibal corpse albums would be worth hearing, but tbh i've gotten this far without ever liking/listening to cannibal corpse so i would not go as far as saying theyre essential

Deth 07-06-2011 09:27 PM

they're standard fare death metal with a good vocalist (imo) who just happen to be the most well known band in the genre's history

depends on how much DM you're listening to for historic reasons I guess

xMalcolmXx 07-07-2011 01:17 AM

the bleeding is good all the way through, the rest is pretty spotty. hammer smashed face live is 0923588748593x better than on that album

alachlahol 07-07-2011 06:16 AM

never thought the day would come when a genre would actually have brutal in the name

alachlahol 07-07-2011 06:23 AM

cannibal corpse and their brutal vocals

here comes the bird flu 07-07-2011 10:59 AM
is any cannibal corpse worth getting
the sense of rhythm is fucking inrivaled, but other than created to kill and the first demo, no. you might as well listen to cannabis corpse

Haz 07-09-2011 09:19 AM

I think I listened to Tomb of The Mutilated once come to think of it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_BOroqOFsc

kinda dig these riffs all of a sudden

Deth 07-09-2011 10:14 AM

that is such a lazy riff

and that's from a band known for lazy riffs

wrathchild88 07-09-2011 10:32 AM

I'm liking Frightmare atm.

And what do you guys think of Cannabis Corpse? I hear they've got a new album out soon.

Morumbar 07-09-2011 10:32 AM

Insane is a cool song.
