Yeah, and do you have a picture?
|
Really? Mine doesn't. Do you have an original vinyl pressing or something?
No. It's just the normal album. Under the "Notes" part is where they write Gillian.
|
How come no cheesy name for the Sabbath thread? You guys could probably think of something decent. :p
|
'Rock and Metal's Black Sabbath Thread' seems alright.
|
Black Sabbath are truly awesome, the original stoner rock band. I agree that after ozzy left the band just became to 80's and lost the groove and a lot of the soul that they had in the 70's. Maybe it was a good thing though as "Never Say Die" and "Technical Ecstacy" were weak compared to early material. Volume 4 started it for me and my favorite album is probably Master of Reality. Nothing beats the power, rawness and sludge of Sabbath. Huge influence on hard rock and metal bands ala soundgarden and alice in chains.
|
They are not "Stoner Rock". And the 80's stuff is great as is Technical Ecstacy(never heard Never Say Die!). Give that stuff another listen you might enjoy it.
|
Sabbath pwned in the 80's.
|
Sabbath pwn in 2005 Like OmG!|!
i wish :upset: |
A recent interview with Ozzy said that he's no longer interested in doing a new Sabbath album.
Which I guess is a good thing, considering his voice is really bad these days. |
Huzzah there is hope for new sabbath yet, no offence to ozzy or anything but...
i wonder who they will get to sing, i hope its someone new that they havnt had before |
Iommi is working with Dio on 2 new songs for a Sabbath box set for the Dio years, its doubtful that it'll turn into a full album and tour project though :(
|
Meh too be honest i could live without another Dio era, they should get someone new, younger...and taller
Cool to see that there will be a Dio box set though |
Meh too be honest i could live without another Dio era, they should get someone new, younger...and taller

The Dio era was one of the best though...
Luckily Dio is perfectly happy with his solo band at the moment, which is why he won't be making a full return to Sabbath. To be fair, seeing as Sabbath has been around as the 'classic' line-up for the past 10 years or so, I think it'd be best if Iommi decided to call it a day, and lay the Sabbath name to rest, rather than go through the process of finding a new singer, writing new songs, recording the new songs etc...it'd take them at least a year to do, when both Iommi and Geezer could be touring with their solo bands. |
Im not a huge fan of their solo careers myself so I hope they stick with Sabbath personally. Maybe Iommi should get David Coverdale like he was going to for Seventh Star.

Heres the cover http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/1451/dscf01114ke.jpg And the back (you can see my reflection :p) http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8797/dscf01146zf.jpg And the disc http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/4796/dscf01155ut.jpg Sorry, i couldnt get the pics to show, anybody know why? |
The pics worked fine for me.
Give me 5 mins... Edit: Ok. I just ran upstairs to check my vinyl copy of We Sold Our Soul...and what you have there is sides 3 and 4 of the collection (its a double album, sides 3 and 4 are the second record) I know that the original cd pressing of We Sold Our Soul was limited to just one cd, so maybe you picked up the second half of it? Who knows, but I've never seen it before so its either a bootleg, or a rareity. |
That original one CD version was all of both records with a couple of songs taken out. I dont know al of the excluded ones but Im pretty sure Laguna Sunrise is. What you have there A Guy is very hard to find, I wonder if its worth anything.
|
Well I got Never Say Die! DVD for christmas and its a great DVD, shame about the quality. And too bad about Ozzy being shoved to the side. Also I was quite dissapointed that Rock 'n' Roll doctor didnt start with that shred like lead break or that Embryo wasn't played before Children Of The Grave, but all in all a good DVD.

Laguna Sunrise is on it. I got it for $3 so that'd be pretty sweet if it was actually worth anything. |
Yes yours does, Im saying the original CD release (not yours) had Laguna Sunrise excluded. You should go to www.black-sabbath.com and email the guy who runs it (Joe Siegler) theres a very good chance he'll know about your CD as well as if its worth anything.

Merry christmas yall...although it isnt christmas anymore
so shall i order MOB rules or heaven and hell next? |
I havn't heard Mob Rules but I have heard Heaven and Hell is better.
|
Meh ill go with Heaven and hell then, atleast i know the title track is awesome
|
Merry christmas yall...although it isnt christmas anymore
so shall i order MOB rules or heaven and hell next?
Both are excellent choices. I have both albums, 'Mob Rules' is a bit more upbeat...while 'Heaven & Hell' is a bit darker. Probably get 'Heaven & Hell.' But everyone dismisses 'Mob Rules' which is a kick-*** album. |

Read this...:
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_releases/ozzy_says_he_doesnt_want_another_black_sabbath_album.html I think Ozzy knows that his voice sounds like **** so he won't do a new album. If Sabbath only had Dio back. |
For the Dio era, get the Live Evil album.
I have Gillan singing War Pigs somewhere...
Oh, that has Dio on it? Thanks for telling me, I know one thing I'll get with Christmas money. |
Looks like a good album actually I might get Mob Rules first though so I have all the studio recordings before I hear it live (Im funny like that).
Has anybody got The Last Supper? I want it but heard that Interviews cut into songs sometimes. So is it still good to get? |
The Last Supper is the best Black Sabbath DVD to get.
Great performances combined with hilarious interviews, its brilliant. |
I have Gillan singing War Pigs somewhere...
I think i had either him or RobHalford doing war pigs awhile ago, god that was a bad version |
I have Halford doing a version of Heaven and Hell which is terrible, and a version of Supernaut + Neon Knights which isn't too bad...
If anyone remembers me thinking about getting the Dio cd named ''The Elf Albums'', I finally got it as a Christmas present and its really good. I also got Plastic Planet by G//Z/R, which is alright. I've got all 3 of Geezer's solo albums now, and I'd say Black Science is the best. Edit: NP - Plastic Planet The drumming on this song is great. |
Ive heard samples from his solo albums and Id have to agree with you there. I dont like Ohmwork at all actually its too indsutrial sounding for me.
On another note I picked up Sabotage today and would give a brief review but I havn't heard it yet as my turntable is playing up. |
Well the turntable is alright now so I have heard Sabotage. I think it's quite good. At first I didn't like Side 2 apart from Supertzar but Am I Going Insane and The Thrill Of It All is really starting to grow on me but The Writ is just all over the place, and I didnt get Blow On A Jug, damn. As for side 1, excellent, some fo Sabbath's best work. But after hearing two different live versions of Symptom Of The Universe I was quite surprised by that acoustic bit at the end. I reckon it ruins an otherwise awesome and incredibly heavy song. Speaking of Symptom Of The Universe does anyone actually know what the lyrics are about?
|
When i first got Sabotage all i wanted off of it was Megalomania, but most of the album has grown on me
am i the only one that thinks Supertzar is a waste of a song? its a great song but it could have been so much more with lyrics and singing rather than just that choir thing they had on it |
The Last Supper is the best Black Sabbath DVD to get.
