Its only a one page article. It just stood out cause BadMoon always talks about them. :p

But its also got a fuzz box buying guide, Van Halen poster, Jam tricks from the Phish guy (which is pentatonic and modes so it intrigued me), a few other cool articles too.

and the ever so popular

I killed all my livestock to appease Satan.

Broken Arrow 09-10-2004 07:26 PM

You mean the 60's right? Not the 80's.

Make a Thread on Gore Metal

BludgeonySteve 09-10-2004 08:24 PM

What the hell is wrong with people? Who actually likes "gore metal"? That's retarded.

So i've been thinking, I either pay $120 to a see bunch of burned out, brain-dead sammy hagar song playing hacks (Van Halen) or buy some cds.

Broken Arrow 09-10-2004 08:25 PM

I saw Van Halen but it wasn't worth that much. And i had decent seats.
So i've been thinking, I either pay $120 to a see bunch of burned out, brain-dead sammy hagar song playing hacks (Van Halen) or buy some cds.
my dad saw them this year, and he said they were awesome. they played songs from the roth and hagar days. he also said there wasn't any "van hagar", which im assuming means they didnt play any of hagar's solo songs

Broken Arrow 09-10-2004 08:36 PM

No Sammy did one of his own songs while the other band members were taking a break.

Everyone Soloed by the way.

lunch998 09-10-2004 08:59 PM

I was talking to my Dad for awhile about classic rock. He was born in 1952, pretty much perfect timing to catch just about everything. He brags about it to me. I wish I was that lucky.

Broken Arrow 09-10-2004 09:01 PM

What bands did he see?

lunch998 09-10-2004 09:12 PM

He saw a lot of good stuff. He grew up in northern New Jersey, very close to New York city. So he could get to the Fillmore east really easily and see whoever was there. He never saw the huge bands, except for the Who and the Grateful Dead, but he was really into things like Jethro Tull, Procol Harum, Traffic, Moby Grape,Ten Years After, and Argent. He saw the Dead one time when they played a 10:30 show until the place closed at 5 in the morning, and then they set up in the street outside and played until the cops busted it up.

He also loves the Syd Barret Pink Floyd stuff, but he doesn't care much for the later stuff.

chancy_of_the_balks 09-10-2004 09:12 PM

i have to say you all forgot one of the best classic rock bands ever STYX there show this summer was far suppior to lynard skynard but hey dont get me wrong they ruled just styx is the ****e
