Bartender 06-12-2004 09:12 AM

All you people with 2 or 3 exams left piss me off. I haven't even started mine yet. I would type more, but I'm tired after wading through some 5 pages of spam.

joas 06-12-2004 09:30 AM

Ouch..

Edit: Oh yeah, and about the albums, ...And Justice for All brings in the greatest political metal type lyrics I've heard (minus maybe Rage :p ), and seeing as how it's just the greatest album every, I think that points to the fact that the lyrics have to be good :)

Squirrel 06-12-2004 10:08 AM

^ true, they started to deal with a lot more world issues and people issues then

...and justice for all ( the song ) concentrating on bribery, unfair justice, unfair legal systems etc

Blackened dealing with brink of wars and the end they'll bring.

One focusing on moral issues like is it ever fair to end someones life, and also - is he actually alive in that state ?.

All round its more of a mature album - it really had some effort put in and they werent empty lyrics, they actually meant something.

As far as lyrics go i think that Load and Reaload had some GREAT ones, also some on St. Anger if you read between the lines are quite good - the un-named feeling, Sweet Amber and Frantic especialy.

motorbreath53 06-12-2004 01:38 PM

^ you forgopt about Eye of the beholder, that one talks about how they say were free, but like there are all of those restrictiouns and stuff, like " you can do it your own way, if its done just how i say"

Kreator 06-12-2004 01:40 PM

Squirrel 06-12-2004 02:52 PM
Jesus, you guys are gaining up on me, at least all of my posts were more or less Metallica related.
Don't lie ;)

Motorbreath, yeah i forgot Eye' - really good song showing how government have all the excpetions ot rules or add ons - *youre free... with these restrictions*.
Its quite a good aim at thinks like communism and withheld liberties.

TheMaster05 06-12-2004 03:02 PM
I think its this next album (after st. anger) and they'll call it a day. It will prolly be somehting epic like black album, possible like reload....but i doubt it will go back tothe old days...i thin metallica want to put those days behind if i'm not mistaken.
Do think that after 20 years they'll call it a day? They might release a greatest hits album but whats the point? Nearly all their songs are good.
Do you think James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich will want to call it a day.
i reckon their best has been and gone but their still good and i reckon they'll keep going for a bit longer. Well, Hetfield and Ulrich and probably Hammett will. How can they not stop? Fave album:Master of Puppets.
Despite having finally heard the whole of KEA, I still don't really like it.
Phantom Lord is however a great song - best on the album.

Furthermore AJFA reigns supreme, though I still think they should remix it like Dave's doing to all the Megadeth albums.
KEA is an acquired taste ;) Phantom Lord is the only song which sounds like anything they've done after KEA (if that makes sense lol)
I thought you loved me! :upset:
It's possible to love 2 people at once, isn't it? :upset:

MonkeyGuitar4o 06-12-2004 03:12 PM

Um......I like the intro to 'Don't Tread On Me'

Burdcheese 06-12-2004 03:15 PM
KEA is an acquired taste ;) Phantom Lord is the only song which sounds like anything they've done after KEA (if that makes sense lol)
Yeah - Thats probably why I like it.
In KEA's favour though, it does have a lot of good solos.

Burdcheese 06-12-2004 03:16 PM
Um......I like the intro to 'Don't Tread On Me'
I hated it the first time I heard it; it was just odd having Metallica rip off West Side Story

I just accept it now

MonkeyGuitar4o 06-12-2004 03:21 PM

But, by far the best song out there by Metallica is 'Fade To Black', the solos are genius.

superpeer 06-12-2004 03:22 PM

Eh, the last solo on Fade to Black could have been much better.

MonkeyGuitar4o 06-12-2004 03:36 PM

(starts talking) I don't really like 'Nothing Else Matters' I just like playing it

btoto 06-12-2004 03:38 PM

^I don't think so. Fade to Black solo is really different from Kirk's other stuff. I don't think it could be better anyhow

2887 06-12-2004 03:40 PM

The best solos though are on One.
