ATM 03-16-2007 02:04 PM

Glad to see Shpongle on there, too. I am listening to them right now.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-16-2007 02:06 PM

Shpongle used to rock my world. They still do a little bit, but the novelty wore off I guess.

I have a GAD album on my computer, but I've never listened to it. I haven't been in a very 'indie' mood lately or something.

DJ SPIN THAT SHI'

ATM 03-16-2007 02:07 PM

Shpongle aren't a novelty band, wtf?

Tyler 03-16-2007 02:08 PM

I dont know, I'm inclined to agree with Jake. Novelty maybe wasn't the right word, but something wore off and I'm too lame to think of what it was.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-16-2007 02:09 PM

Oh, what I meant was that I listened to them stoned too often and so now it will never be as cool to listen to them. :upset:

ATM 03-16-2007 02:09 PM

Fair enough, but do you guys listen to any other electronic groups or anything of the sort?

Tyler 03-16-2007 02:11 PM
Fair enough, but do you guys listen to any other electronic groups or anything of the sort?
Yeah, I grew up on Electronica actually. I'm just not all that psychedelic I guess, so it actually was a novelty to me at first. Even if it isn't all that psychedelic.

Lunch 03-16-2007 02:14 PM

Psychedelia \m/
Fair enough, but do you guys listen to any other electronic groups or anything of the sort?
A decent amount, yeah.

1200 Mics
Aphex Twin
Astral Projection
Boards of Canada
Carbon Based Lifeforms (epic)
Daedelus (thx Chris)
The Dust Brothers
Four Tet
Hallucinogen
Infected Mushroom (probably my favorite trance act)
Jaaportit
Juno Reactor

And I got sick of looking at my library at "J."

TojesDolan 03-16-2007 02:17 PM

I should go back to my pukn rock days

Tyler 03-16-2007 02:18 PM
Daedelus
Isn't Daedelus like, weird and trippy hip-hop, or am I thinking of the wrong Daedelus? I know there's definitely more than one.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-16-2007 02:24 PM

RDM is what I'd call Daedelus. So yeah, trippy hip hop with odd meters and such.

Firecracker 03-16-2007 02:55 PM

My friend is a big fan of Aphex Twin
I dig quite a bit of it.

Tyler 03-16-2007 02:57 PM

I dont know what RDM is. Religious Death Metal?

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-16-2007 02:58 PM

retarded dance music.

Making fun of intelligence dance music, their real genre.

**** man, I hate when allusions fail.

Tyler 03-16-2007 03:00 PM

lolz, the allusion didnt fail, you did.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-16-2007 03:01 PM

Who didn't pick up the allusion?!

(you btw)

ATM 03-16-2007 03:55 PM

I'd call it glitch hop.

NP: Battle Of Mice - The Lamb And The Labrador

God I love this band.

Tyler 03-16-2007 04:32 PM

I'm predicting really high *** counts this week.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-16-2007 06:38 PM
I'd call it glitch hop.
Yeah, this makes sense. They do have the same kind of glitchy IDM sound as a band like Aphex Twin, but they're much more sample-based, lending them to be hip-hop.

Overanalyzation, sorry.

Do you actually own that? if so, a) where'd you get it and b) have you ever met a single person who gets the 'joke?'
