Is most Hardcore in Drop D tuning with guitars?
Not most of it.

shane italian 11-11-2004 06:02 PM
Is most Hardcore in Drop D tuning with guitars?
Depends on the band or style. Newer bands are starting to just put guitars into drop-d, though.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 06:02 PM

No, well more of the newer, metally sounding bands use Drop D. But most original bands used standard tuning. Alot more bands have been using it these days.

CONNER_NWHC 11-11-2004 06:03 PM

Yeah i new that alot of metal bands did.

twenty.five.to.five 11-11-2004 06:04 PM

sorry for posting again kind of, but have you guys heard of Thought Crime? i'm pretty sure they have a purevolume thing set up. I heard them on a comp i bought a while back. I'd recommend 'hope in the proles' and 'monument.' They say they play bi-polar rock but they play a hardcore, defintely some metal influence sound.

Response to noneed66: Not all hardcore is drop-D. but sure, a lot is.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 06:20 PM

Post all you want in here aslong as it's relevant/not idiotic.

Can't say I've heard them.

CONNER_NWHC 11-11-2004 07:42 PM

Where can i find Casey Jones Guitar Tabs?

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 07:44 PM

I put one up on Mxtabs. Other than that there are none. I know how to play like half their album, just to lazy to tab it all out.

CONNER_NWHC 11-11-2004 07:45 PM

Was it fairly easy to learn?

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 07:46 PM

Yeah it should be easy. All it is, is power chords in Drop D and maybe like 2 palm mutes.

CONNER_NWHC 11-11-2004 07:47 PM

Sweet i will give it a try.

cbmartinez 11-11-2004 07:50 PM

So I'm tabbing "Jane Doe" on bass right now. It's a pretty good challenge. Most of the songs on Jane Doe are too hard for me, though. They are either A) impossible to hear in the fucking messy, grindy mix ("Concubine") or B)Some of the basswork is actually pretty impressive and often hard to hear.

CONNER_NWHC 11-11-2004 07:50 PM

Is there a program for wrighting out tabs or is it just in word.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 07:51 PM

Ahhh, tab guitar out because I'm to lazy/not good enough. There aren't enough Converge tabs.

cbmartinez 11-11-2004 07:52 PM

I do it in Word personally. Put it to Courier font if your going to do it in Word.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 07:52 PM

Well there is Power Tab which you can write it out and play it.
I do it in Word personally. Put it to Courier font if your going to do it in Word.
I use Notepad. Same font as the tabs.

cbmartinez 11-11-2004 07:54 PM

Good thinking. But I don't like the fact that Notepad keeps typing on one line forever.

CONNER_NWHC 11-11-2004 07:54 PM

You make some pretty good tabs Sk8Ska for DK and Refused.

Gotkookie 11-11-2004 07:56 PM

yeah, I saw his casey jones tab too.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 07:56 PM
Good thinking. But I don't like the fact that Notepad keeps typing on one line forever.
Yeah that's true, I usualy just continue on another line.
You make some pretty good tabs Sk8Ska for DK and Refused.
Hah, thanks. Alot of my tabs suck, like a year ago I did a bunch and they're crappy. Some I had a little help with. Also I stole a Bad Religion solo from this other site which only had the solo tabbed out. I figured why not, make it easier on me. Also I stole a few tabs from an older site which got shut down.

cbmartinez 11-11-2004 07:57 PM

Sk8Ska, you did a tab for "Signals Over The Air" right?

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 07:59 PM

Yeah, it's kind of shitty. Also I didn't do it all myself.

cbmartinez 11-11-2004 08:00 PM

Yeah, I remembering seeing it. I have the official tab by Tom and Steve in an issue of Guitar World I have.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 08:02 PM

Cool, I haven't really listened to Thursday in the longest time. Probably since that tab.

Didn't they come out with a tab book for the whole album?

So how bad was my tab?

shane italian 11-11-2004 08:15 PM

Weird, I just put in War All The Time today.

cbmartinez 11-11-2004 08:15 PM

Yours sounded right, it just wasn't the correct way to play it.

They came out with a War All The Time tablature book. I really want to get it. You order it off their site.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-11-2004 08:25 PM

I know there is deffinently some stuff wrong with my tab. Mainly more of the 2nd guitar work. The intro is right, just the fingering for it is wrong.

NewKindofArmy03 11-11-2004 08:26 PM
Weird, I just put in War All The Time today.
