I never understood why people get piercings. They look so tacky and disguisting.

I like lip piercings, just the ring kind, like Tom has. And ear piercings. Eyebrow is ok. Belly button is dumb IMO, so is the lip one where it's a stud in the middle of your chin type area.

Kif's podcast. Rahhhhhhh. [/mono-tone voice]

"They're on the myspace compilation...which I have obtained...somehow"

These things are nifty. I should start doing them. (New Year's Day is pretty cool, too. Rare for a female vocalist to be good. She hot?)

I dunno, I always wonder why someone would want a piercing. I mean, a tattoo is different, because you can get something really personal engraved into your body. But a lip ring is just a lip ring. It's just an accessory, like a wristband.

The intro to part B is ace, too.

I like them. I don't know, it's not like it's permanent either.

Later guys, I'm out.
No offence, but your mum needs to lighten up a little. It's just hair! Is she like very religious or something?
No! She goes to church, but she doesn't exactly make me read the bible everynight. I know she needs to lighten up to. She just keeps tellin' me that I'm good lookin' and she's not letting me ruin my good looks by getting gross, ugly, long hair.

Haha, that's a good one. I look far better with long hair and it's like that with a lot of people.

You should do what you want, screw parents.

I try to, but I literally will get dragged to get my hair cut by my father anyways. Although if it comes to that I might just get dragged in. I'll go kicking and screaming :p

I wanna make a podcast, it'll be nifty because I'll do genre-specific podcasts. Smething for all.

How do you do it?

I think you need some sound editor program (Kif said something about using Cool Edit), and drop the songs you want into it, and record yourself talking a bit about each one and fit those parts in between the songs.

I was thinking of doing one too, just so y'all can hear my secks-ay voice (well, I think most of you have, actually, if you've ever listened to any of my band practice or live recordings). The only problem I'd have is that I only tend to find out about new music through here anyway, so anything I'd put on would be nothing new to most of you anyway.

Side note: Does anyone have/know of software that can be used to record streaming audio?

I use that. Works for movies too.

It says 30 day evaluation, but I've had it for about 3 months and it still says I have 17 days left. (I tend to leave it open for days at a time though...hmmm)

Ta. Much appreciated.

I mainly want it coz there's always stuff on Purevolume which is only available to stream, including some stuff I'm thinking of putting on a podcast, if I do one.

Eek. Then I don't know. To use the program, you have to be able to right click, go to properties, and find out the direct URL to the sing.

I'm not sure how that works for purevolume :(

billiejoe84 11-18-2005 07:36 PM

Hmm. I might look on their proper website instead then.

Excursions 11-18-2005 07:39 PM
I've never heard Sonic Youth. What are they like?
You should, great band. They are like garage rock meets noise meets experemental music meets punk. Good stuff. Their earlier albums are better like Sister and EVOL.

billiejoe84 11-18-2005 07:41 PM

Bleh, I think I'm gonna watch some South Park now. Haven't seen any in ages.

BridgeToSolace 11-18-2005 07:52 PM

I'mma do at least one podcast tomorrow. I plan to do an Acoustic one first. If it goes well, I'll make a hardcore one.

Maybeez a (real) screamo one. Or I'll take requests (get me into new metalcore! etc.)

Can you maybe recommend some stuff with really heavy, punchy breakdowns, in podcast form? I wanna get into more that sort of thing but generally don't know where to start.

I'd love to. I've already got some bands in mind.

You looking for the kind of hardcore band that has like 3 breakdowns a song?

Or the kind of metal that's kind of like Killswitch without the singing? (metal with a breakdown in every song)

Permanent Solution 11-18-2005 09:30 PM

Weee...band was fun. We learned Bad Religion's American Jesus

/listens to Limp Bizkit

I just got back from the show. It was really good.

Hey

Glad to hear you enjoyed.

I also found out that Dillinger Escape Plan is playing here with Between the Buried and Me in a couple weeks. It's going to be incredible.

I've known about that tour for awhile, but I'm not a big BTBAM fan :-\

And I'm broke as hell.

Mute Print 11-18-2005 09:54 PM

I don't think I ever heard about it. If I did, I had no idea it was coming to Buffalo.

I enjoy BTBAM, and I'd love to see DEP, so I'll probably end up going.

Permanent Solution 11-18-2005 09:58 PM

DEP is insane live. If you've not seen them yet that alone is worth it.

Mute Print 11-18-2005 10:03 PM

I was going to see them at Warped, but they were one of the bands that got rained out.

I just found out that the show is only $8, too. :D

Permanent Solution 11-18-2005 10:04 PM

That's hella cheap, very nice. Mine's probably like $20 :-\

Mute Print 11-18-2005 10:22 PM

More good news: Less Than Jake is touring with A Wilhelm Scream next year, and they already have a Buffalo date scheduled for February. :D

LTJ has one of the best live shows I've ever seen. I don't even like them, but they are so fun live.

I'm making podcasts tomorrow. I'll do a "All-star Breakdowns" first, out of Jame's request.

Then an acoustic one for you.

Mute Print 11-18-2005 10:31 PM

I like Less Than Jake quite a bit, so it's good to know that they're fun live. Plus, A Wilhelm Scream is playing, so I really can't go wrong. Seeing AWS for the fourth time = :D:D

I'll be looking forward to your podcasts. What program do you use to make them?

Gnarmageddon 11-18-2005 10:37 PM

I'm even MORE impressed!

Hehe...I was bored...And I'm sick...And everybody else is out partying or recovering from the football game...So I don't have many options.

So I thought I'd come see how my old friends here at MX were doing.

What are ya'll like? The band, that is?
