Man, Break On Through is so cool.

I just got back from my Rock History class. Best class ever, and I am not exaggerating. Details later.
Here's an mp3 I uploaded for the YSI thread which I find rather sexy.
Eric Clapton - Somewhere Over The Rainbow
<3 for that, man. My friend sent me a streaming file of it a couple of years ago, and was addicted. Then he lost the link, but now I've got the mp3 so thanks a lot for it. :D |

I'm looking forward to hearing details. /also jealous |
Seriously, that class sounds rad. What era are you studying?
|
Man oh man, I'd love to have a class like that. It's in college right? If it's in high school, i'll find you and kill you for being so lucky. I plan on going to UNC though, and since it's a very large school, I'm sure they've got classes like that.
I'd agree with PATGOD, however my knowlege of psychadelia isn't exactly extensive. Me and my buddy were listening to that album while REALLY stoned last week while camping. I love that album so much. I still like Gilmours work better though. ;)
I like Saucerful of Secrets a little more than PATGOD, but it's pretty close. If I'm gonna listen to just one Pink Floyd song when I'm stoned....and this is a very hard decision, I'd have to say Welcome To The Machine. |
Mine would be Interstellar Overdrive.
Mine would be Interstellar Overdrive.
Me too. |
I should probably post this in Teh Pit, but I'll just get flamed by a bunch of Internet-hooked retards saying "Put in your butt d00d", so I'll ask here. People like robo2448, how do you bypass the usertitle word limit? It's getting on my nerves, I can't type more than like six words.
|
Although I'd rather just listen to all their albums back to back than have to choose one song.
edit- ^^ that question has already been asked a couple times in this thread, because everyone knows we're the nicest guys in MX. I'm actually not sure though, stick around, someone in here knows for sure. |

I'll send you the link on AIM. Your BigTrav415 on AIM to, right? |
Interstellar Overdrive is a good song.

hi im new to the forums and im sorry if this is completely out of context but im not allowed to post new threads for some reason and i figured this was sorta to do with classic rock - im a big thin lizzy fan and i want to play dancin in the moonlight at a rock festival in my school but I really really need a backing track for it. I used to ahve one that I got with total guitar magazine (~126 the eric clapton issue) but i lost it and ive been tryin to find the backing track everywhere so if anyone reading this has it could u please send it to me (i'll give u my email address) please please as it would be much appreciated. thanks

Sorry man , i dont have any backing tracks , but im sure someone on this thread does , but i pretty much wanted to say welcome to the forums . i remember i was new a month ago and i felt pretty left out , but my first post was in this thread too . |
Yep. Then again so is Good Charlotte :(. Some teenagers are more cool than others I guess.
 so true.... many teenagers also have never even heard of some of the greats of classic rock... only one person in one of my classes at school had ever heard of eric clapton :upset: |
I think everyone has heard of Eric Clapton, even if they have no clue of who he is.
I think everyone has heard of Eric Clapton, even if they have no clue of who he is.
I don't know about that. Last year I remember reading The Odyssey in English class. I mentioned Tales of Brave Ulysses, and nobody in my class had even heard of Cream :upset: GAmetalhead- Don't quote the first page if you want to stick around. |
Cream is not Eric Clapton, when I was a total newb to music I had still heard of Eric Clapton and knew he played guitar while not really knowing what he played. I had never heard of Cream until I started listening to music for a while.

Good point. np- Traveling Wilburies- Inside Out |
It seems like I've always known the name Cream, just from hearing White Room and Crossroads on the radio since I was little.

I remember always knowing the unplugged version of Layla. Then, when I was getting into Clapton, I heard the original version and I was like "". np: The Cars - Just What I Needed. Not exactly classic rock, but still a cool song. |

I didn't know Cream or Clapton when I was younger. My parents probably played them once in a while, but I can't remember hearing them. In a class full of 16 year old kids though, at least one other person should have heard of Cream, especially since there were like 6 guitarists in that class. My parents played the Traveling Wilburies to me when I was a baby. Apparently the only way they could get me to fall asleep was driving me around in the car while playing the Wilburies. |

"I can't hang out guys i gotta study for my Pink Floyd test tommorow"
I'm taking one too for my Music Technology degree. In fact, its my first class. I start on Monday September 26 at 10 am....oh yeah! |
My mom was obsessed with Tears in Heaven, I remember thinking it wasn't that great. That was the only song I knew by Clapton.
