listening to the new BDM, it's aight, nothing is gonna beat Nocturnal

xMalcolmXx 06-09-2011 07:13 PM

unhallowed = miasma > nocturnal > new one > deflorate

adb 06-09-2011 07:16 PM

whole list is backwards

rasputin 06-09-2011 08:51 PM

unhallowed is their only tolerable album, everything else sucks

witchxrapist 06-10-2011 12:07 AM

miasma is so much better than unhallowed, nocturnal is pretty good, deflorate is pretty decent, haven't heard the new one

MalleusMaleficarum 06-10-2011 07:47 AM

Unhallowed has the best songs so

xMalcolmXx 06-10-2011 09:16 AM

funeral thirst bro
Better than Deflorate IMO, it's a somewhat different sound for them...
literally sounds like everything else they've done don't know where you're getting this

witchxrapist 06-10-2011 03:39 PM

They have a distinct sound, but to say their albums all sound the same is ridiculous. There's obvious progression in every department other than Trevor's vocals.

DBlitz 06-11-2011 02:40 AM

downloading new gorod ep

it has acoustic versions of some older songs, a cover of textures (cynic) and a 15 minute song with ross dolan on guest vocals. excited to hear the song with ross.

I guess I didn't realize that they had full orchestras, acoustic intros, and Ryan Knight guitar solos on all of their other albums?

Den Of The Picquerist is awesome.

I keep hearing Sabbath riffs when I listen to Autopsy

I supposed it's not a crime to re-use the tritone

Pretty much the only thing I thought was an improvement over their old stuff was the lead playing, it's too bad they didn't have someone better on unhallowed and miasma.

I'm really digging the acoustic version of Blackout. I hope they do more of this kind of stuff in the future.

alexja 06-11-2011 01:21 PM

how are Deconstruction and Ghost? Seeing Townshend in a month...worth buying?

Haz 06-11-2011 09:14 PM

pretty sure I like Gorgut's From Wisdom to Hate more than Obscura

MalleusMaleficarum 06-11-2011 10:09 PM

Erosion of Sanity and Considered Dead tbh

Haz 06-11-2011 10:41 PM

haven't listened to those two yet

i hope not. didn't enjoy the ep very much overall. there were some okay parts in the 15 minute song but still it's nothing compared to leading vision (which i listened to afterwards for the first time in a long while).

Haz 06-12-2011 09:24 PM

Bloodbath is alright

Yeah I didn't give a shit about any of the metal tracks I just liked that acoustic adaptation, I'd like to hear a couple more leading vision tracks updated like that

Went to Evil Invaders III on the weekend. Did a bit of a review to pass time on the flight home. Might be of interest to one or two people here. Haven't reviewed anything in years so excuse any shitty writing/critique away.

EDIT: just realised what my username here is. No affiliation with the band, have just been too lazy to bother getting a name change since they popped up.
I keep hearing Sabbath riffs when I listen to Autopsy
I'm sure plenty of bands have ripped off Autopsy too. There is a bit in Sourlows by Portal that is straight from Torn From The Womb

Haz 06-14-2011 05:05 AM

pretty good write up greg

I haven't visited any metal festivals before

Haz 06-14-2011 06:13 PM
