I never enjoyed black metal until I familiarised myself with the core bands of the genre and made my own mind up whether I liked certain albums by them or not, it was only after that when I started seeking out other bands from around the world. I'm approaching DM the same way

I don't think there is anything more frustrating then that one guy who only likes relatively obscure stuff they have gotten off blogs and completely dismisses everything popular as entry level trash. Often, it's just not true.
