i have pete rock and cl smooth, ill look into the others.

i have a couple tracks of Big Daddy Kane, but Bun B acknowledges him as one of his top 5 dead or alive so that's enough impetus to check out his entire discography.

@nevertoolate: i have PE's first three albums, but they don't really do anything for me any more. i've listened pretty extensively to BDP, early Common, and 3rd Bass, but i don't really enjoy them either. i'll look into Funk Doobiest and Lords of the Underground.

I remember a few months Nas came to New Orleans for a show

and my mom wouldn't let me go because she thought he was some sort of highly underground anarchist backpack rapper and there were gonna be political riots there

Jaundice 10-06-2009 03:09 AM

There's serious talk about me and my friend putting out a mixtape

If it happens every one of you will need to cop it and find out what real hip hop is

adb 10-06-2009 03:13 AM

rap

more like

Jaundice 10-06-2009 03:14 AM
dude i know exactly what youre talking about. its only that way with rap for some reason.
my only guess is that its cuz everyone listens to rap for a different reason

some are all about the beats and others are all about the lyrics, and of the people who prefer lyrics that's split into those who worry about content and others who worry about actual complex rhymes

then there's people who are all about the flow, and some who just want songs that sound good as a whole

idk
